Breeding history

Description of the variety

This species is a hybrid formed on the basis of a scarlet Bulgarian cuboid pepper. Experts classify it as sweet.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and fruits

The culture can be classified as medium-sized, semi-standard. The plant rises above the ground by about 50 centimeters. The peppers are directed towards the ground. The green leaves are slightly wrinkled.

The fruits are impressive in size, 10 by 15 centimeters in size. Each copy weighs 170-189 grams. The shape of the vegetable repeats the prism. In the phase of technical maturity, the hybrid has a rich green color, ripe peppers are colored in a dark scarlet tone. The peel is smooth, shines in the sun. The thickness of the fruit wall reaches 6.7-8 millimeters. Inside the vegetable, you can count 3-4 seed chambers. The flesh of the hybrid is dense in consistency.

Purpose and taste

The described hybrid is universal. It can be eaten both directly from the garden as a salad, and for various dishes, canning and freezing.

Ripening terms

According to the characteristics, the culture is defined as an early species. The fruiting phase starts approximately 95 days after planting.

Yield

The considered hybrid pleases the owner with high productivity. On average, a farmer can remove 15.8 kilograms of vegetables from one square meter.

Growing regions

Flamenco is successfully cultivated in the conditions of the Central region of Russia.

Landing scheme

When starting planting, you should maintain a distance between the bushes equal to 40 centimeters. In addition, you need to provide for a gap separating one row from another - about 50 centimeters.

To get a large and tasty harvest of pepper, you need to take care of the seedlings in advance. When growing pepper seedlings, you need to correctly determine the sowing time, pre-sowing seed treatment, prepare the necessary container and soil.

Growing and care

Experts recommend starting sowing seeds around February-March. The planting material is soaked in peat pots, providing warmth and an abundance of light in the room. In addition, every couple of weeks, the soil is saturated with organic matter.

They move young plants to a permanent place when they get stronger and form leaves, for example, in May. During the flowering period, as a rule, the first flower breaks off. This is done so that the development of the bush is not disturbed and the harvest is worthy.

Taking care of Flamenco, watering is carried out as the earth dries up, approximately once every 7-10 days. The water is heated before the procedure. During the fruiting period, soil moisture should be abandoned.

The hybrid also needs to systematically free the beds from weeds and loosen the soil. To protect plants from breaking due to bulky fruits, it is advised to tie them to pegs or trellises.

From time to time, peppers are pampered with top dressing. It can be played by bird droppings, urea, wood ash.

Harvesting is permissible even in the phase of technical maturity, since vegetables ripen easily in boxes.

To harvest a tasty and rich harvest of pepper, you need to comply with all the conditions of agricultural technology, and proper care begins with planting plants. Before planting pepper in open ground, it should be prepared. It is also important to take care of the seedlings and planting space in advance.

One of the most important conditions for growing healthy and strong peppers is correct and timely watering, which is necessary for active growth, rapid rooting and good fruiting of plants in a greenhouse or open field. The soil under it should not dry out. This can be achieved by following the basic recommendations. First of all, you should be guided by the weather. In addition, the phase of development of the plants is important, as well as the way the peppers are grown - in a greenhouse or in the open field.
Although pepper has a tree-like stem structure, it still needs additional support. If the peppers are not tied up, the plants will begin to lean to the ground under the weight of ripening fruits, the stem may break. Low-growing varieties, as a rule, do not need a garter. But for tall and hybrid varieties, it is necessary.
Every summer resident who decides to grow pepper on his site must learn how to form it correctly. The formation of pepper is one of the simplest and most effective agricultural techniques that allow you to extend the term and increase the fruiting of a crop.

Soil requirements

The hybrid feels good in the ground, freely absorbing water, loose. It is advisable to abandon sandy, acidic, clayey soils when planting it.

For good growth of pepper bushes and active fruiting, you need to regularly apply mineral and organic fertilizing to the soil. It is necessary not only to choose the right formulations, but also to use them at the right stage in the development of culture. The frequency of top dressing is always individual. It depends directly on the composition of the land on your site. The poorer the soil composition, the more often you will need to feed the pepper.

Required climatic conditions

When deciding on a place for a garden bed, it is better to lean towards an area sheltered from drafts, located on a hill, receiving a lot of heat and light from the sun. For the successful ripening of vegetables, the air temperature must be kept at around 20 degrees. If the thermometer records only 13 degrees of heat, the peppers are advised to be placed under a film or in a greenhouse.

Disease and pest resistance

The hybrid shows considerable resistance to potato viruses, tobacco mosaic and other diseases.

Pepper is one of the most common vegetables in home gardens. This culture is quite stable and unpretentious. However, under certain conditions, this plant can suffer from infections and harmful insects. Before treating peppers for diseases or pests, you need to find out the cause of the problem, otherwise the treatment may be ineffective.
