Description of the variety

This onion species is a powerful plant with a semi-spreading rosette of feathers. It is characterized by a rosette of medium thickening of emerald-green feathers with a barely noticeable waxy bloom, a developed root system and resistance to shooting during the growing season. In favorable conditions, feathers grow to a height of 30-40 cm.

Characteristics of the appearance of plants and bulbs

Onion Shtur BS20 stands out among its relatives with an attractive presentation. Onion heads ripen well aligned and neat. The variety belongs to the medium-fruit category. As a rule, bulbs grow weighing 90-130 grams, but sometimes larger specimens are found - 150-160 grams. The diameter of the middle head reaches 6-8 cm.

The shape of the vegetable is non-standard - rhombic with an elongated neck of medium width. The surface of the bulb is smooth, glossy, without any defects. The skin of the vegetable is thin, but strong, consisting of 2-3 dry scales that tightly cover the onion pulp. Outwardly, the vegetable is evenly colored brown-bronze, and the flesh of the root vegetable is snow-white. The vegetable is quite dense, and its structure is small, consisting of one bulb.

The dug out bulbs tolerate transportation without significant losses, and also have a long shelf life - up to 8-10 months if the crop is stored in a cool and ventilated room.

Purpose and taste

Dutch onions are characterized by good taste. The snow-white core is endowed with a fleshy, moderately dense, tender, crispy and juicy texture. The variety is declared as high-yielding. It is characteristic that the productivity indicator does not depend on climatic whims. Growing onions on an industrial scale, you can dig up an average of 279-310 centners per hectare of plantations. The maximum yield was recorded at 464-464 c / ha.

Planting dates with seeds, seedlings and seedlings

This variety is grown mainly by sevk. Sevka planting is carried out in late April - early May. Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out in March, and from the end of April to the first days of May, the strengthened bushes are transferred to the garden ridge. Growing and care
