Strawberry Venta

The diversity of the site with crops is a priority goal for many gardeners. In other cases, people tend to compare several varieties of the same plant in order to find out which one is the most appropriate for planting. This article will focus on one of the strawberry varieties called Venta.

This strawberry variety appeared by merging two other varieties - Festivalnaya and Zenga-Zengana. It happened back in the twentieth century at the Lithuanian Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Economy. In Russia, this strawberry was put on a variety trial in 1981.

Today, the Venta strawberry enjoys authority among a fairly large number of gardeners and summer residents. For a more complete picture of this plant, it is important to know how it looks. Externally, the Venta strawberry is a kind of bush, characterized by an abundance of foliage. And below their level there are peduncles, which definitely have powerful outlines. The height and width of the bush is about 20 cm. It has a semi-spreading appearance. The tasting score of this variety is 4.7 points out of 5.

The variety is considered to be of medium early ripening.

Strawberry Venta is recommended for planting and growing in the following regions of the Russian Federation: in the North-West, Central and Volgo-Vyatka.

Venta's yield indicator is quite high. Up to 4 kg of berries can be harvested from one plant per season. When grown on an industrial scale, it is more convenient to calculate this parameter in tons per hectare, for Venta it is 4.53 t / ha.

Ripe fruits - berries - have a dark red color, their surface is smooth and shiny. The shape of the berry is blunt-conical, and its average weight is 12 g. The berries are distinguished by their large size. The taste gives off sweet and sour notes. The pulp of such strawberries is dense, and its juiciness and aroma are also noted. The fruits of Venta are used in all possible areas.

Despite good reviews from critics, this strawberry variety will not do well if grown improperly. To achieve the highest yields, you should take the following measures seriously:

• planting - choosing a planting site and preparatory work on the soil;

• top dressing;

• good and competent watering.

The soil for Venta strawberries should not be sandy. The best option would be to choose black soil or loamy soil, but with some additional fertilizing. And also it is worth discarding options in low-light or windy areas. Where groundwater flows nearby, it is also better not to plant this variety of strawberries.

It would be most competent to plant plants in the place where dill, cilantro, parsley or marigolds used to grow. At the place of growing potatoes, cucumbers or eggplant, planting Venta is not worth it due to the bad taste of future fruits.

Before planting, it is imperative to carry out the classic work in the form of digging up the soil.

One of the features of this strawberry variety is the lack of pollination. The thing is that this plant forms bisexual flowers. From this we can conclude that reproduction at Venta occurs without pollination.

The most important feeding periods are those during which the plant may be severely deficient in minerals. This is mainly the ovary, flowering, harvesting, before the onset of cold weather. For the off-season season, complex fertilizing will be enough, but during the development of fruits it is better to use mineral fertilizers.

In general, Venta is considered a plant with a low risk of pest and disease. However, some of them can still harm this plant. For example, garden mites and gray mold are a very common problem in Venta. They hit strawberries the most. The level of resistance to white or brown spot is slightly higher. But this strawberry is almost not affected by powdery mildew.

Strawberry Venta propagates, like most other varieties, with the help of antennae.

The Venta strawberry variety has different characteristics. In some ways it surpasses its competitors, in some ways it is inferior. Nevertheless, Venta is still widely popular with summer residents and gardeners.
