The early Kviki strawberry variety attracts the attention of gardeners because it does not react to temperature changes and has an excellent taste and aroma.

Quicky CIVN251 is synonymous with the name Quicky. The variety is bred in a Consortium uniting several large Italian CIV nurseries. It was entered into the national State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2020.

Kviki's Italian strawberry is one of the most popular varietal novelties. Its distinctive feature is considered to be its excellent adaptation to different climatic conditions. Even with a drop in temperature and a small number of sunny days, the culture does not stop blooming and setting fruits on large bushes of a semi-sprawling type.

Ripening dates are considered super early. Fruiting falls in the period from late May to early June.

In the open field, you can get a good harvest in the southern and central regions of Russia, and in the northern regions, Kviki is grown only in greenhouses.

Quicky strawberries bear fruit in one area for 3-5 years. The result depends on such factors as the quality of the soil, the characteristics of the selected area for growing strawberries, the quality of the seedlings, etc. After the expiration of the above period, the plant will have to be transplanted to another place with suitable growing conditions.

At the end of summer, the culture can again push forward about five peduncles and give a fresh harvest in the fall. The peculiarity of the Italian variety is that it brings a stable harvest even in a year characterized by unfavorable weather conditions.

In order for the harvest to be tasty and of high quality, it is important to remove the strawberry mustache in a timely manner. It should be noted that the berries of this variety do not differ in abundant mustache formation. But if they are not removed in time, the culture will lose most of its nutrients and will be unable to fully develop.

The dense glossy skin of the Kwiki strawberry has a typical red color and a conical, slightly flattened shape. Inside are small yellowish seeds.

The size of the fruit is considered large, the mass of one berry is approximately 50-80 g. The taste is dense, sweet and juicy, with a slightly whitish middle. The tasting score is 4.8 out of 5.

A feature of the composition is the high content of sugars (8.4). The fruit has a rich aroma. They do not lose their exemplary attractiveness even in the last phase of fruiting.

The fruits retain their commercial qualities even in the rainy period, remain shiny and juicy on hot sunny days. The skin does not crack, the juice does not leak out during collection and transportation.

In general, the cultivation and care of Kviki strawberries are standard. But there are some features that you should familiarize yourself with before starting planting.

When planting Quicky strawberries, special attention must be paid to choosing the right site. The culture grows well in the southern territories, while it is desirable to protect the site from the winds. If the soil is often exposed to roots, strawberries will freeze out at sub-zero temperatures below 12 degrees. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to avoid planting on sandy soils.

The Kviki variety will not thrive and grow well in lowlands, as fog accumulates in such places. And also in high areas of productivity, direct rays of the scorching sun can threaten.

It is not recommended to plant the Italian dessert variety where potatoes, cabbage and eggplants were previously grown. Kviki will show itself in the best way in the beds where dill, parsley, marigolds or other types of greens were grown before her.

It is necessary not to forget about weeding and watering Kviki's strawberries. She does not like excess moisture, so if the groundwater on the site passes close to the roots, an additional drainage layer will be needed. In hot summer, automatic water supply is ideal. If possible, you can apply the irrigation method.

It is advisable to arrange bushes of garden culture of Italian origin in a checkerboard pattern, keeping a distance of 30 cm from each other, in 2 or 3 rows. To make the illumination more uniform, it is better to arrange the rows from north to south.

Too long roots are shortened before planting, leaving 20 cm so that they do not curl up. The root collar is located at ground level. An equipped garden bed with planted strawberries is watered. Young plants need daily watering for 10-15 days.

Water the strawberries in moderation. Waterlogging can lead to root rot. Drip irrigation is preferred. Sprinkling is only suitable before flowering. In the heat, the regularity of watering 2-3 times a week. Watered in the morning or evening with warm, settled water.

The variety is self-pollinated.

Experienced gardeners use mineral and organic fertilizers when growing. They are fed at a certain time. High nutritional value for the Italian strawberry variety is possessed by nitroammofoska and a complex with poultry droppings. But the latter option is introduced with caution due to its high concentration. There is a risk of burning the roots and leaves if the dosage is exceeded.

Kwiki's strawberries require shelter for the winter. In the northern regions of Russia, cultivation is possible only under film.

The variety is highly resistant to powdery mildew and shows sufficient resistance to gray mold. The use of fungicides is justified in exceptional cases, with strict adherence to the proportions indicated in the instructions.

The garden culture of this species reproduces well with a mustache. To obtain strong seedlings with a closed root system, a plastic cup with a nutrient composition is placed under each outlet. The sockets are moisturized from time to time.

On the mother plant, you need to cut the peduncles so that the bush directs all its forces to form a mustache. At the end of summer, they will have to be cut off, and the rooted mustache should be transplanted to a permanent place, using the transshipment method.

If it becomes necessary to transplant strawberries to another place, you can use the method of dividing the bush. To do this, with a sharp knife, the plant is divided into 2-3 parts, leaving at least two leaves and a powerful root system on each. For this type of propagation, only healthy bushes that have previously demonstrated high productivity are suitable.
