The giant delicacy is a strawberry variety bred by Dutch breeders. Already from the name it is clear that this is a large-fruited variety. Also, the Giant delicacy is distinguished by its plasticity, resistance to the vagaries of the weather. All this attracts both private gardeners and farmers.

The presented variety has a vigorous bush up to 50 cm high. All aerial parts (stems, leaves, peduncles) grow quite large and powerful, which allows them to withstand massive fruits. The variety is also distinguished by a large number of mustaches.

It is a non-repairable variety with an early ripening period: the berries can be picked in late June or early July.

This gigantic delicacy gives a large harvest, which has won the love of gardeners not by the number of berries, but by their weight. So, from one bush, on average, you can collect up to 2 kg of fruits.

The fruits have a red-raspberry color and an elongated-conical shape, their weight reaches 100 g. The berries taste sweet, candy-delicious, perfect for fresh consumption. The pulp is moderately dense, but juicy, so strawberries of this variety can also be used for processing.

The berries are mature, when placed in a box, they can be stored for a week. They also retain their shape during long-term transportation.

Despite the fact that this variety requires standard care measures, it is recommended to grow it for people with experience. Such strawberries can grow in central Russia, in the Moscow region and other areas with the same climate.

The variety is moisture-loving. If irrigation is carried out irregularly, then voids can form inside the berries, which negatively affects the taste. But excessive moisture can also negatively affect the taste of the fruit, adding acid and wateriness. Watering is needed when the soil dries up by 2-3 cm. Timely trimming of the mustache also affects the yield. In general, crop care is standard: watering, weeding, fertilization. This strawberry is not suitable for growing in a greenhouse.

The Giant Delicacy variety prefers to grow in nutritious soil in an area well-lit by the sun: the sun promotes the formation of sweet fruits. When choosing a place, you should avoid beds that are well blown by the wind, as well as areas with a close occurrence of groundwater. Planting is recommended to be carried out according to the scheme 60x40cm.

The variety is not suitable for greenhouse cultivation, which means that it can be pollinated naturally by insects and wind.

This giant delicacy belongs to winter-hardy varieties. It is able to withstand temperatures down to -25 degrees. However, if the plant is kept in a region where winters are usually little snow, then it is recommended to cover the planting site, organize a snow retention system, and throw snow onto the site during the winter.

The presented variety is characterized by high immunity. Even common diseases and pests cannot overcome the plant.

Strong and strong adult bushes are suitable for breeding. They need to be prevented from blooming to make the rosette mustache stronger. Choose the first mustache for breeding. Bushes at the age of 5-7 years are changed to young plantings by rooting a rosette or dividing into parts.
