The variety of courgettes Rolik has successfully passed the test of time, remaining one of the most favorite among summer residents in many regions of Russia. Differs in very high early maturity, cold resistance, suitable for commercial production. Removal from the bush for transportation and storage is carried out at the stage of technical maturity.

The variety was obtained by specialists of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing". Approved for use in 1990.

Roller - a zucchini with a standard stem, reaching a height of 250-350 mm. Bushes are formed sparse, with clearly visible lashes, with a crown not prone to thickening. Flowers do not need additional pollination. The variety is suitable for growing under film at the stage of forcing shoots or in cold climates. Ripening of fruits is non-simultaneous; they are eaten as they ripen.

The bushes are distinguished by the presence of straight thick stems with hard pubescence. The root system of this variety is powerful, well-developed, with a central core and additional underground shoots, actively growing in the soil. Flowering occurs predominantly on the main stem. Corollas are yellow, large, bell-shaped.

Bush plants, with shortened internodes, slightly leafy. The main shoot is short and strong. Petioles 25-35 cm long. Leaves are pentagonal, strongly dissected, small in size, usually green, but may show signs of white spot. Fruits on the bush are simultaneously formed up to 5 pieces.

Zucchini varieties Rolik have an oval shape, light green, medium density bark. The average length of the fruit reaches 15-20 cm, weight from 0.9 to 1.3 kg. The surface of the skin is smooth, the flesh under it is colored in a light green tone. Inside, on the cut, large, white ellipsoidal seeds are visible.

The video is intended for home cooking, all types of processing. It is equally good fresh, as well as in frying, conservation. Fruit taste is assessed as good. The pulp is of medium density, pleasant consistency.

Ultra early variety. From germination to harvesting, 28-34 days pass. The first fruits begin to take off in June.

With industrial cultivation, the volume of fruit collection reaches an average of 60-80 t / ha. In the conditions of a personal plot, you can get up to 7 kg / m2.

The variety is zoned for cultivation in Central Russia, in the Urals, in Eastern and Western Siberia, in the north.

Zucchini Roller is planted in open ground in the period from May 25 to June 10, according to the scheme 70x70 cm. The main care implies regular watering of the bushes with warm, settled water. The variety is very hygrophilous, due to accelerated ripening it requires frequent moisture. When choosing a place, it is worth giving preference to ridges that are well protected from drafts.

Plants thrive best in well-loosened, weed-free soil. It is important to huddle the bushes as they gain height.

To obtain good yields, you need to abundantly fill the soil with organic matter. The variety develops well on chernozem soils, loams.

Plants are resistant to cold weather, tolerate return frosts without loss. They need intense lighting, lots of sun.

Rolik bushes are moderately susceptible to powdery mildew. In the complex, the plants are resistant to major crop diseases. Possibly mild gray mold damage. The variety needs preventive insecticidal treatment against melon aphids. The pest is especially active in wet, cloudy weather.

Over the long years of its cultivation, Rolik zucchini managed to earn numerous positive reviews from summer residents. The variety is praised for its general unpretentiousness, excellent seed germination rates, good taste without bitterness. It is noted that planting is successful even on poor soils with increased structure density. The roller is also appreciated for the low cost of seeds, and their number in the package allows you to successfully fill the entire garden at once.

Summer residents mention the unusual appearance of the fruit. They are obtained with characteristic pear-shaped outlines, easily recognizable among other varieties. Ripe zucchini are cut easily, effortlessly, the pulp is elastic and dense. Young fruits have a thin skin and do not need to be removed during cooking.

Of the shortcomings of the variety, summer residents only single out susceptibility to fungal diseases. During the period of prolonged rains, plants may die without giving a crop. The fruits themselves, upon contact with the ground, also tend to rot, deteriorate under the influence of pathogenic microflora.
