Electric doorbells are very popular. They are common, and today you will not surprise anyone with such details. People tend to prefer modern doorbells, which transmit well-defined, but not annoying, over-loud sounds.

The device of a modern electric bell for 220 V includes such important components:

• electric magnet;
• hammer;
• anchor;
• the bell itself or special cups;
• all the contacts necessary for the call to work;
• springs;
• buttons;
• batteries or parts responsible for supplying electricity.

The main functional element, which is part of a high-quality 220 V electric call and at the same time starts its operation, is a special electric magnet. Due to its presence in the device of the product, a signal is sent.

The principle of operation of the part under consideration for the door is based on the close proximity of an electromagnet to a special anchor, which includes a solid electrical plate and a hammer. Near the anchor is the desired moving contact made of brass. If there is no electricity on the top of the electromagnet, the contact is pressed against the screw zone, which connects to only one terminal. The second terminal meets the magnet coil, and the other part is connected to the armature.

When the bell button is pressed, the circuit is closed, the armature is fixed in the coil, and it will inevitably be attracted to the pole due to the electromagnet. After that comes the moment of striking the surface of the special bell cup with a hammer. In addition, the brass contact will open the circuit, moving away from the screw part. The sending of current along the coil of the electromagnet stops, the electromagnet ceases to attract the armature to itself.

Thanks to the spring part, the armature can move away from the pole of the electromagnet, and the brass contact again approaches and presses against the helical surface, closing the circuit. The current runs through the coil again, the hammer signals this, and the entire path is repeated again until the second until the user stops pressing the bell button. The most important function of the magnet in the bell device is to shut off the device itself. Due to its presence, the electrical circuit is closed and opened.

• Wireless. The operation of these options is based on the transmission of radio signals. The receivers are often installed in the indoor unit, and the transmitter in the key itself. The signal can be digital or analog. Digital copies are more reliable and practical to work with.
• Electromechanical. Advanced mechanical doorbell. Its structure is very simple: a button that gives a signal that is removed outside the dwelling, a resonator installed in the dwelling itself, as well as an electric cable that connects all the components of the device.

To connect an electric call, you will need:

• electric drill or hammer drill;
• screwdriver with indication;
• pliers;
• screwdrivers with a thin tip;
• nippers.

To connect the doorbell, prepare a 2-core cable (cross-section from 0.5 to 0.7 sq. Mm).

The wiring diagram for an electric door bell will be as follows.

1. Disconnect the power supply to ensure the safety of all work.
2. Run the cable from the junction box to the bell and the key. To this end, use the indicator light in the box to find the wires that supply electricity. Determine where is the zero and where is the phase wire.
3. Carry out the connection of the wires, based on the previous indicators.
4. Drill a hole in the ceiling or doorway to bring out the wire and then connect it to the key of the element in question.
5. Using the terminals, connect the bell button to the wire, fix it near the door leaf on the wall.
6. Connect the 2 terminals located on the top of the batteries to the other end of the wire. If the latter are located in the inner part of the case, you will need to run a cable from the distributor to the button, and then connect them together. Then you will need to carefully divide the cable into 2 cores. Both the first and the second will need to be connected to a specific terminal.
7. When there is a step-down voltage in the transformer housing, connect it to the junction box and terminals appropriate for the specific voltage.
8. After completing all the work listed, you will need to check the correct operation of the entire installed system.
