Planting the usual apple and pear trees in the courtyard of a private house or in the country, the gardener certainly wants to grow some tree with incredibly tasty fruits, unusual and beautiful. One of these is the Red Passion apple tree, which will not only give fragrant fruits, but also become a decoration of the garden.

The decorative and fruiting apple variety Red Passion is the result of the fruitful work of Swiss breeders. Not so long ago, it began to be massively grown in Russia, but it managed to win the love of amateur gardeners and farmers who grow apple trees on an industrial scale.

The apple tree is a medium-sized tree, the height of which does not exceed 2.5 meters. It has a bright spherical crown with light red leaves. The tree looks incredibly impressive during the flowering period, when the crown is covered with dark pink flowers. Apple tree Red Passion belongs to late autumn varieties, which are characterized by an unforgettable aroma and taste.

The apple variety has many features, thanks to which it is of great interest to gardeners and farmers. The advantages include good frost resistance, immunity to diseases and pests, the ability to adapt in any soil, good yields, as well as a high content of antioxidants and sugar than in other apple varieties.

Among the disadvantages, one can only single out the fact that the variety is not self-pollinated, and therefore requires planting near pollinating trees.

The flowering period is in April-May. During this period, the crown is replete with large flowers, and this period lasts for several weeks. Fruiting begins in August-September and lasts until the first cold weather. After picking, apples need to lie down for a while, after which they ripen and acquire even more pronounced taste. Having planted a tree, you can count on the harvest in the second year, however, the quantity and quality of the fruits will pleasantly surprise you.

Due to its quick adaptation to different climatic conditions, the variety grows well in any region, be it the southern strip or the northern one. In addition to Russia, the variety is massively grown in Ukraine and Belarus.

The yield indicators of the variety are quite high. Subject to all the rules of care and planting dates from the apple tree, you can collect up to 30-40 kg of fruits.

Fruits weighing up to 150 grams are characterized by light pink pulp, thin skin and incredible aroma of wild berries. The color of the fruit is dark red with barely noticeable spots and stripes, and the taste is sweet-sour, strikingly different from other varieties. Due to the density and strength of the skin, round fruits retain their shape and presentation for a long time even during transportation.

To grow this apple species, it is necessary to select a site that is well illuminated by the sun's rays, and is also protected from drafts and strong winds. Before planting seedlings, it is necessary to dig up the soil, remove weeds, moisten, and then prepare special holes. The soil should be fluffy, breathable, fertile and free of stagnant water. Planting seedlings is possible both in autumn and spring.

The Red Passion variety is not self-fertile, therefore it is easily pollinated with the help of other trees flowering and fruiting at the same time as this apple species. Pollination with other varieties can occur even at a distance of up to 200-300 meters.

Top dressing of the tree takes place according to the standard scheme - during bud formation, during flowering and fruiting. The most beneficial are organic fertilizers. In addition to feeding, it is necessary to provide moderate watering, as well as to prune old branches and form the crown of the tree.

The frost resistance of the variety is so great that the tree is able to tolerate severe winters well, in which the temperature drops to -20.30 degrees. In special cases, the insulation of the root system with mulching is required.

The immunity of trees is high, capable of protecting against many diseases and pest infestations. The variety has good protection against powdery mildew and scab, but prevention of the appearance of diseases and harmful organisms is mandatory. As a preventive measure, spraying with special agents is used.

Despite the fact that the variety is relatively new, there are a lot of reviews about it. Most gardeners characterize the Red Pass apple tree as fruitful, non-capricious, and quickly take root in different soils. Many people note the unusual taste and aroma of the fruits, their long-term preservation, which allows you to enjoy delicious apples all winter. In addition, the tree, especially during the flowering period, performs a decorative function, decorating a plot or garden.
