Aport is an extremely famous variety, loved by many gardeners due to its unpretentiousness and good, rich harvest. It has many advantages over other varieties of apple trees and is able to take root even in the most unfavorable areas.

Description of the variety

Apple trees have a flat, not thickened, wide-rounded crown with a diameter of about 7-10 meters and long brown shoots of medium thickness with a small number of lentils. The branches are extremely strong and extend from the trunk at a steep angle. Most of the leaves are located at the ends of small branches. The shape of the foliage is round, slightly flattened, the color is dark green, the size is medium. The plate is slightly curved, the edges are slightly pubescent. On them you can see a dense neural network.

Features, pros and cons

Gardeners like Aport because of its high yield and large fruit sizes. The taste and appearance of apples are highly valued, because of these qualities they are often called souvenir. They can be stored for a long time at home (in the refrigerator or on the balcony), and have high transportability.

Of the minuses, the inability of trees to survive winters in the middle lane, in temperate zones, where, after severe weather conditions, they simply froze out, can be noted. But this problem can be fought by grafting Aport on more frost-resistant varieties. Another negative quality of the variety is considered to be irregular fruiting.

Ripening and fruiting

The variety is late autumn and not early-growing, begins to bear fruit only 6-7 years after planting. After the first fruiting, the trees give a harvest for 40 years, harvesting is carried out every year. The ripening of apples occurs in the second decade of September, the duration of the consumption period is until the beginning of February.

Yield

From one tree with an average, you can get 135-140 kg of fruits.

Fruits and their taste

The main color of apples is yellow or green-yellow, the integumentary color is a dark red dashed blush. The fruits are flattened-conical in shape, on some you can see a slight ribbing. The skin is not too thick, glossy and dense, oily and slightly rough, with a waxy coating. There are a small number of cutaneous points. They weigh on average 200-260 grams, individual fruits weigh 500-900 grams.

The fruits have a delicate and sweetish-sour taste. The pulp with a light aroma, white with a greenish-yellow tinge, not too dense, crumbly and fine-grained. A winey aftertaste may be felt after consumption.

Apples can be stored for up to 6 months and can be easily transported. A variety of compotes, juices, preserves and jams, as well as wines and dried fruits are prepared from universal fruits.

To obtain a bountiful harvest of fragrant apples, the garden must be periodically renewed by planting seedlings of productive and new varieties. The choice of an apple seedling must be approached with all responsibility, because low-quality planting material at best will not take root, and at worst it will die in the prime of years after numerous investments in its health and normal formation.

Growing features

Planting is carried out in the autumn. For planting, it is necessary to select seedlings with a well-developed root system. It is best to purchase plants with a closed root system. Drainage loam is suitable for growing the variety. This soil will allow the apple tree to show all its positive qualities. If the soil on the site is different, you can prepare a meter-long pit and place sand, peat chips and compost in it. This can improve conditions and help the seedling to take root.

The plant should be planted in an open, sunny place, next to which there is no groundwater. In the early years, the Aport needs good care, the apple tree needs to be watered regularly, pruned and protected from diseases and pests.

Planting apple trees is a very important, troublesome and responsible business. Its survival and full-fledged fruiting depends on the correct procedure. Before planting, you need to choose the right planting material, determine the location and prepare the soil.
A successful grafting helps to solve a whole range of problems, first of all: to get the varieties of interest and save space on the site. The vaccination technique itself is not so difficult and even a novice summer resident can master it. Vaccinations can be done during the entire growing season.
Along with top dressing and pruning necessary for apple trees, watering is also a significant contribution to the correct development of the culture, and therefore to a high yield. Improper watering, carried out inopportunely, without enough water, can bring big trouble to the fruit tree.

Top dressing

Trees need to be fed in the spring and autumn using mineral and nitrogen fertilizers. This will enhance the vegetative ability of the plant and saturate it with the necessary nutrients before the season and winter frosts. Fertilizer with a nitrogen content must be applied before the beginning of September, but not later, because it is needed to accelerate and enhance the growth of young shoots, which should not actively develop in autumn.

For foliar and root dressing, urea is often used. In the spring, you should take 500-600 grams of the substance and scatter it around the trunk circle for digging (in the presence of wet weather). If there is no rain, the urea must be dissolved in 10 liters of water before use.

For foliar top dressing, you should take 30-50 grams of the substance and place the fertilizer in 10 liters of water in order to subsequently spray the tree with this solution. This should be done twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, when there is no direct sunlight.

During the flowering of the apple tree, it is necessary to water it with a solution: 250-300 g of urea per 10 liters of water. This enhances vegetation and promotes good harvests. The last feeding with urea is carried out at the beginning of autumn (foliar).

In the spring, you can use ammonium nitrate (30-40 grams per 10 liters of water) or humus dissolved in the same amount of water. And also slurry, liquid chicken manure, superphosphate and potassium are used.

After flowering, the plant is fertilized with nitrophos and sodium humate. In the fall, it is necessary to help the tree to stock up on the necessary nutrients, for which it must be treated with the following solution: a tablespoon of potassium + 2 tablespoons of double superphosphate + a tablespoon of calcium + 10 liters of water.

An important point in caring for an apple tree in the open field is feeding and fertilizing. Top dressing of apple trees begins in early spring and ends in late autumn.Lack of nutrition leads not only to a decrease in the quality and quantity of the crop, but also reduces the immunity of the tree, making it more vulnerable to pests and diseases. And with the autumn procedure, the tree will be able to lay more fruit buds, which will have a positive effect on the future harvest.
Despite the fact that apple trees are considered quite unpretentious plants, they still need proper autumn care. Timely preparation of trees for winter makes them more resistant to winter frosts, as well as increase future yields.

Diseases and pests

The variety is moderately resistant to various diseases and quite often can be affected by pests. It is best to apply preventive measures to protect the plant.

To prevent the scab from hitting the apple tree, it is necessary to process it with urea, dissolving 700 grams of the product in 10 liters of water and adding 50 grams of copper sulfate to the solution. Wood ash can be added to the soil by flooding it with hot water and adding up to 10 liters of cold liquid to the solution.

The apple tree is a popular fruit crop among gardeners. It can be found in many summer cottages. But at the same time, such trees are often affected by various diseases. It is very important to recognize the disease in time and carry out the necessary procedures for a speedy recovery. Otherwise, the fruits will be spoiled, and the tree itself may die altogether.

Fruiting of aging trees, as well as the quality of the harvest, decreases. Therefore, if the tree is aging and there is a need to replace it, you need to think about how to propagate the apple tree so as not to lose the variety. For reproduction of an apple tree, several methods are used: by seeds, layering, eyes and cloning (budding).
