Large breeding establishments do not tire of delighting people with new varieties and varieties of fruit crops. Another achievement of this kind is the Priokskoye apple tree, which has already managed to captivate the hearts of some people. And therefore it will be very important to tell about it in more detail.

Breeding history of the variety

The culture was created in the famous VNIISPK. In 2007, the plant was sent for varietal trials at one of the experimental farms in the Oryol region. Since 2011, based on the results of these tests, the apple tree has been included in the list of elite species. In 2014, it was added to the State Register of the Russian Federation. The plant is zoned in the central black earth region.

Description of the variety

The height of the apple trees does not exceed 2.5 m. The crown at Priokskoye resembles a column. Large leaves are elliptical; they are characterized by sharpening. The columnar culture is distinguished by excellent consumer and decorative characteristics. It is ideal for both large plantations and private gardens, for summer cottages. In addition, the plant's performance is very stable.

Features, pros and cons

You will have to pay for planting material not so little. For novice gardeners, and for people on a budget, this solution is hardly suitable. The roots are rather poorly developed. And those that are, are formed mainly at the very ground. Therefore, wind and water easily destroy a tree.

The weakness of the root system impairs the nutrition of the plant. The duration of fruiting is very limited. Since fruits grow only on the trunk, there is no need to expect a serious harvest. The advantages are:

  • all fruits receive the same amount of heat and sunlight;
  • the opportunity to get a relatively good collection with proper care;
  • the ability to plant a large number of trees in a limited area;
  • ease of fruit picking;
  • ease of care;
  • the ability to do without strenuous pest control;
  • external beauty of the apple tree.

Ripening and fruiting

The variety is distinguished by real early maturity. The first fruits can be expected at the end of August or in the first September decade. Only when the weather worsens does this moment recede. The earliest fruits can be enjoyed as early as 2 or 3 years of apple tree development. Priokskoe is self-fertile conditionally: theoretically it is able to give a good harvest itself, but with external pollination it is much more productive.

Growing regions

The apple tree is zoned by:

  • Crimea;
  • middle lane;
  • Moscow and Leningrad regions;
  • parts of the northern regions (but there it must be grown with care).

Yield

The total harvest of fruits can exceed 200 centners per hectare. This will delight both large planters and owners of small plots. At the 6th year of development, you can collect 6-7 kg of fruits during the season.

Fruits and their taste

The apples are characterized by a greenish-yellow color. Red is added to it, and then a crimson blush, covering the main part of the fruit. The shape of the fruit is flattened, the ribs are not too pronounced. The average weight is 0.15 kg. The subcutaneous points are gray and medium in size, well visible from afar.

Other parameters:

  • weak to moderately strong aroma;
  • sugar content - up to 12.7%;
  • acidity - no more than 0.58%;
  • harvest preservation is guaranteed until the end of January;
  • assessment of the tasting examination - 4.4 points.
To obtain a bountiful harvest of fragrant apples, the garden must be periodically renewed by planting seedlings of productive and new varieties. The choice of an apple seedling must be approached with all responsibility, because low-quality planting material at best will not take root, and at worst it will die in the prime of years after numerous investments in its health and normal formation.

Growing features

The Priokskoe variety categorically does not tolerate acidic soils. It is possible to improve them previously by liming. It is helpful to choose areas that are loose, oxygen-permeable. It is advised to add washed river sand to black soil. A very important requirement is a sufficient level of illumination.

The high location of the roots allows almost no fear of groundwater. Pits are often dug in the previous season. But this is not critical, since the holes prepared 2-3 weeks before disembarkation show themselves no worse. The gap dividing the plantings is usually 0.9-1 m. The surface is mulched after planting.

Planting apple trees is a very important, troublesome and responsible business. Its survival and full-fledged fruiting depends on the correct procedure. Before planting, you need to choose the right planting material, determine the location and prepare the soil.
A successful grafting helps to solve a whole range of problems, first of all: to get the varieties of interest and save space on the site. The vaccination technique itself is not so difficult and even a novice summer resident can master it. Vaccinations can be done during the entire growing season.
Along with top dressing and pruning necessary for apple trees, watering is also a significant contribution to the correct development of the culture, and therefore to a high yield. Improper watering, carried out inopportunely, without enough water, can bring big trouble to the fruit tree.
An important point in caring for an apple tree in the open field is feeding and fertilizing. Top dressing of apple trees begins in early spring and ends in late autumn. Lack of nutrition leads not only to a decrease in the quality and quantity of the crop, but also reduces the immunity of the tree, making it more vulnerable to pests and diseases. And with the autumn procedure, the tree will be able to lay more fruit buds, which will have a positive effect on the future harvest.

Frost resistance

Prioksky's resistance to cold is not bad. But all the same, it can be difficult to do without special protective shelters. Temperatures up to -25, even up to -30 degrees can be maintained without any problems. Moreover, the main thing is that such conditions do not last long. Substantial temperature fluctuations and changes in humidity levels can be fatal.

Despite the fact that apple trees are considered quite unpretentious plants, they still need proper autumn care. Timely preparation of trees for winter makes them more resistant to winter frosts, as well as increase future yields.

Diseases and pests

The variety is highly resistant to scab. But genetic immunity does not protect against other pathologies, therefore it will be very rash to grow Priokskoye without fungicidal treatments. Insects, usually attacking apple trees, are also dangerous. Insecticides will also have to be actively used.

The apple tree is a popular fruit crop among gardeners. It can be found in many summer cottages. But at the same time, such trees are often affected by various diseases. It is very important to recognize the disease in time and carry out the necessary procedures for a speedy recovery.Otherwise, the fruits will be spoiled, and the tree itself may die altogether.

Fruiting of aging trees, as well as the quality of the harvest, decreases. Therefore, if the tree is aging and there is a need to replace it, you need to think about how to propagate the apple tree so as not to lose the variety. For reproduction of an apple tree, several methods are used: by seeds, layering, eyes and cloning (budding).
