Many modern architectural buildings are equipped with an individual heating system. In cottages, summer cottages, country houses, you can see heating stoves or operating wood-burning fireplaces.

Fulfilling an aesthetic and heating function, these structures, like all products created by human hands, need finishing. Such plaster should not be afraid of a strong increase and a sharp change in temperature. Emelya heat-resistant putty for stoves and fireplaces meets all the requirements for facing heating equipment.

About the product

Emelya putty for stoves and fireplaces is the brainchild of Concord OST, a domestic manufacturer of paints and varnishes and building materials, which has been successfully operating since the early 2000s.

Concord OST technologists guarantee that Emelya putty, like all other products of the company, meets all quality standards and norms. The product is easy to use, able to compete with leading Russian and foreign manufacturers of dry and ready-made mortars.

It should be noted that the composition of "Emelya" is the author's development of the company's specialists, created specifically for heating devices. Has a beautiful design and appearance.

Peculiarities

Various factors affect the durability and safety of the use of stoves and fireplaces: correct installation, selection of firewood, the ability to properly light and maintain a fire. Care, periodic repairs and surface renewal are also important. Putty plays an important role in this process.

Emelya plaster is used for finishing fireplaces, stoves, chimneys and chimneys. With its help, seams and cracks are closed, which prevents the room from smoke, increases the long-term preservation of heat by the structure. It is also used as a lining material for direct laying of furnaces and their facing with tiles.

The putty has excellent bonding properties, creates strong adhesion to surfaces and reliable fixation of various structural elements. It should be noted that the coating can withstand temperatures of +900 ºC and is not suitable for work in the furnace area.

Emelya refractory putty is based on kaolin - heat-resistant clay, thinner - water, additives BASF, TROY, ROHM AND HAAS and Dow Chemical thickener are also included. The cladding is sold ready-made, the color of the mixture is beige. The shelf life is one year (if the container is not opened).

Emelya putty is fireproof - it does not contain flammable substances that can ignite or explode under the influence of high temperatures.

Heating equipment is coated at an ambient temperature of + 5C. Stir the paste thoroughly before use. At subzero temperatures, it is impossible to work with the composition, since the water crystallizes, and as a result, the putty will become unusable, harden, and lumps will appear in it.

Facing material "Emelya" is necessary for:

  • Improvements in the appearance of the product. The putty is elastic, does not form cracks after drying, and creates a natural shade of clay, pleasant in color. In the future, the flat surface can be revetted, whitewashed or treated with heat-resistant paint.
  • Ensuring the safety of the operation of the hearth. Under the influence of high temperatures in the masonry, and in the brick itself, cracks may appear through which smoke will enter the room.This is extremely dangerous for human life. Putty "Emelya" is able to penetrate deeply into the seams of the masonry, fill all the cracks, providing airtight structural elements.

Black traces of soot are an unpleasant sight, but the release of carbon monoxide is much more dangerous for a person. Therefore, the operating instructions for stoves and fireplaces require periodic seasonal checks of the structure, strengthening it with plaster or special heat-resistant coating.

Emelya cladding is used to increase the positive characteristics of furnaces:

  • To facilitate the maintenance of the heating structure. Stoves and fireplaces fitted with this liner are much easier to clean from visible sides.
  • Increased heat transfer. The heat in the oven, on which there is putty, remains longer, therefore, it will be comfortable to stay in the room for a longer amount of time.
  • Increasing the service life of the structure. Facing material for stoves and fireplaces is highly resistant to high temperatures, therefore, provided that the putty is applied correctly, the heating elements will serve for more than a dozen years without the need for repairs.

Advantages and disadvantages

Special heat-resistant putty mixture "Emelya" possesses such positive properties:

  • Environmental friendliness - safe for humans and the environment. This is an important criterion when choosing a cladding, since with strong heating, many components of mortars, even harmless in the usual state, can form toxins. There are no such substances in the putty for Emelya ovens.
  • Long service life. Correctly applied to the surface of the heat source, the putty, according to the manufacturer, can last about 50 years.

The only drawback of refractory putty can be called a higher price than conventional compositions and the impossibility of using it as a finish.

Terms of use

Working with a wash will have a positive result if follow the manufacturer's recommendations and take the following order:

  • The surface of the heating device must be cleaned of dust, dirt, grease, old peeling coatings. This will improve adhesion, allow the composition to hold much more reliably;
  • If the already applied coating will not be removed, you need to make sure that it is strong;
  • It is necessary to apply the putty in a continuous layer or pointwise with a construction trowel, the thickness of the facing coating should not be more than 5 mm.
  • You need to have time to level the plane while the solution is wet. As a rule, this process takes 10-15 minutes, after which the putty hardens.
  • If the solution has frozen and it was not possible to level it completely, you can moisten the surface with a spray gun and wipe the remaining area, periodically moistening the work area.

Experts recommend to heat the stove or fireplace before starting work, the surface should be slightly warm, but not hot. These manipulations are performed in order for the solution to lie better on the surface to be treated and dry faster. In addition, the smoke will allow you to detect possible cracks and thus ensure a complete repair.

Reviews

Consumers had time to test the Emelya putty and by personal example they were convinced that it is a high-quality, reliable, highly plastic material that is easy to work with. It can be easily applied to the surface and smoothed out easily. After complete hardening, it does not crumble or crack.

As noted by buyers, it has a mild odor, but unobtrusive, so working with the putty is quite comfortable. The solution can be easily removed from the tool and hands, does not make the structure heavier, and withstands high temperatures excellently.

According to experts, it is very pleasant to work with such a solution - it is elastic, like plasticine and soft, like natural clay. With its help, you can bring out a perfectly flat surface.
