During operation, the dishwasher (PMM), like any other household appliances, malfunctions. There are moments when the dishes were loaded, the detergents were added, the program was set, however, after pressing the start button, the machine makes noise, hums, beeps or does not make any sounds at all, and water is not drawn into the unit. There can be many factors why the dishwasher does not collect water. Some of them can be corrected on their own. Difficult episodes are trusted by qualified professionals. Let's talk about possible malfunctions and how to fix them.

Main reasons

As a rule, those units and parts of the PMM break, which are subject to mechanical stress during operation, have a complex device, or come into contact with low-quality water. The mentioned aspects are also associated with the causes of breakdowns.

Clogged filter

Water from the water supply network in Russia is rarely found completely clean. Various impurities, sand, rust and other garbage are constantly supplied to our home in parallel with water. These contaminants can damage the dishwasher, therefore all manufacturers provide in advance to protect their products from contamination. It is performed in the form of a bulk filter.

Its mesh stops all the debris on itself, nevertheless, after a while, it is able to completely clog up and block the flow. Often a hum is heard, but the car does not start. In PMM, the filter is located on the water supply hose, in the area of connection to the body.

Therefore, it is necessary to unscrew it, initially blocking the flow of water to the riser pipe.

The inlet hose is clogged or squashed

The reason for the fact that the water is not drawn up may be the usual clogging of the dishwasher hose. Similar to the previous case, the problem can be easily eliminated on its own. I must say that water may not flow or flow badly even when the hose is pinched. Therefore, check this moment.

Lack of water in the water supply system

Problems happen not only due to the failure of the dishwasher, but also due to interruptions in the supply of water. The inflow of water may be absent both in the continuous water supply system itself, and in the supply hose. A closed tap will likewise prevent you from using the dishwasher.

AquaStop Failure

Depressurization between the elements of the dishwasher leads to the formation of water in the pan. There is a leakage protection system - "aquastop". If it works and signals, then the control unit will automatically interrupt the water filling. At times, a false alarm occurs when the sensor itself becomes inoperative.

Door problems

The door of the dishwasher has a complex structure, and disturbances in its operation are not uncommon. As a result, there are usually several factors of an inoperative state:

  • malfunction of the locking mechanism, when the door is not able to close to the end, as a result of which the sensor does not operate and the device does not start;
  • failure of the door lock;
  • the lock closing sensor does not turn on.

Sometimes all of the above happens at once.

Breakage of the water level sensor (sensor)

The amount of water entering the dishwasher is monitored by a specialized device - a pressure switch. Actually, through it, the control unit transmits commands to start and end the water intake. When it does not function properly, it is likely that the tank will overflow and the AquaStop will operate, or the water supply will not start at all.

The cause of the malfunction may be damage caused by mechanical factors, or clogging of the sensor that determines the water level.

Failure of the control unit

The control module is a composite electronic device that includes several relays and many radio elements. If at least one part loses its performance, then the PMM may either not start at all, or begin to function incorrectly, not excluding the failure of the water supply.

Due to the complexity of this unit, it is better to entrust diagnostic work to a professional. To correctly establish the cause of the failure, you will need not only specialized devices, but also practical experience in carrying out such work.

Trouble-shooting

Most faults can be fixed on your own. Diagnostic work should be performed to determine the cause of the failure. After that, you need to do certain actions to fix the problem.

If you are not able to repair the dishwasher with your own hands or if you doubt your abilities, you need to contact a specialist. Otherwise, the situation may worsen.

If the filter is clogged

The water in the centralized water supply system has a certain level of purity and softness. As a result, the filter often becomes clogged. This leads to a lack of water collection, or it can be collected extremely slowly.

A specialized filter mesh makes it possible to protect the machine from such problems, protecting it from the ingress of impurities and abrasive particles.

To fix this problem, you must:

  1. turn off the water and turn off the water supply hose;
  2. find a mesh filter - it is located at the interface between the hose and the dishwasher;
  3. clean it with a needle, in addition, you can use a citric acid solution - the element is placed in the solution for at least 60 minutes.

Inoperative filler valve

The water intake stops when the water inlet valve fails. It stops opening after receiving a signal. The valve may fail due to constant surges in water pressure or voltage. The device is not repairable. He needs a replacement so that the machine can again draw water. It is advisable to contact professionals to carry out the event. It may not be possible to change the element with your own hand.

Breakdown of the pressure switch (water level sensor)

A pressure switch is required to measure the liquid level. As soon as it fails, it starts giving incorrect parameters. The dishwasher draws more water than is required. This leads to overflow.

And when the supply indicator blinks, but water is not supplied, therefore, the pressure switch is out of order. It is necessary to change the pressure switch:

  1. disconnect the device from the mains and tip it over on its side;
  2. if there is a cover on the bottom, it must be removed;
  3. the water level sensor looks like a plastic box - you need to remove the tube from it with pliers;
  4. unscrew a few screws and dismantle the pressure switch, inspect for debris;
  5. using a multimeter, measure the resistance at the contacts - this will make sure that the element is working;
  6. install a new sensor.

Problems with the Control Unit

The control unit controls numerous processes in the machine, including sending signals about switching on and off. When it has a problem, the dishwasher does not function properly. The unit cannot be repaired on its own. It is necessary to contact the service to professionals. You can only be sure of the breakdown of the device. To do this, open the chamber door and loosen the bolts.

After finding the board, you need to inspect its appearance. If there are burnt wires, then the problem is in the unit.

When the AquaStop system is triggered

The AquaStop cannot be repaired, it can only be changed.

There are 3 types:

  1. mechanical - the operation of the locks is adjusted by a spring, which operates taking into account the water pressure;
  2. adsorbent - when a liquid enters, the specialized material becomes larger in volume and stops the water supply;
  3. electromechanical - float, when the liquid level rises, the float floats up, and the flow of water stops.

Procedure for replacing the Aqua-Stop.

Determine the type of device. To do this, look at the manual, the passport.

Then:

  • mechanical - put the spring in the initial position by turning the locks;
  • adsorbent - wait until it dries up;
  • electromechanical - dismantled and replaced.

Replacement:

  • disconnect the PMM from the mains;
  • shut off the water;
  • unscrew the old hose, disconnect the plug;
  • acquire a new one;
  • mounted in reverse order;
  • start the car.

Broken door

Procedure:

  • disconnect the machine from the mains;
  • fix the door open;
  • investigate the state of the lock, whether there are foreign objects in the door opening;
  • when something prevents the door from closing, remove the obstacle;
  • when the problem is in the lock, they change it;
  • unscrewing the 2 screws that hold the latch, pull out the lock;
  • acquire a new one;
  • install, fasten with screws;
  • start PMM.

Prevention measures

To exclude the recurrence of the problem, you must adhere to the following simple rules:

  • look after the hoses, avoid crushing, kinking;
  • monitor the filter - carry out preventive cleaning every 30 days;
  • if there are voltage drops, put a stabilizer;
  • if there is a frequent drop in pressure in the pipeline, put in a hydroelectric station;
  • use exclusively specialized detergents for washing kitchen utensils;
  • if the water is hard, do preventive cleaning every 30 days to remove scale, or systematically apply anti-salt agents;
  • use the door carefully: close it carefully, do not allow foreign objects to enter.

These measures will help to extend the life of your machine.
