The partially remontant variety of raspberries, the Yellow Giant, is considered the largest of its kind. The honey-golden translucent fruits are very loved by gardeners for their extraordinary delicious properties, and the plant itself demonstrates unpretentiousness. The cultivation of the variety was carried out by Professor V.V. Kichina on the basis of VSTiSP of Moscow. The success was announced in 1979. When crossing, a white-fruited seedling from a nursery at the Ivanovskaya experimental station and a large-fruited variety Maroseyka were used. The yellow giant became one of the first re-flowering raspberry species to spread to the USSR. The variety is included in the State Register.

Plants are arranged in a row, preparing for them an elongated ditch with a depth of 2 bayonets of a shovel.The lower soil layer is removed, instead organic matter is placed in the trench - humus, leaves, peat and straw. In this form, the planting place is left for 2 months, only then the cuttings or plants in containers are transferred to a new place. In fertile soils, planting is possible without preparation.

Pre-winter pruning is mandatory. With the first cold weather, the entire aboveground part is cut off. Fruiting occurs on the shoots of the current and last year. Sometimes they are left, but this is not necessary.

In the absence of such support, they are introduced in the spring by watering or in the fall in dry form into the root zone in the form of a complex.

The plant is frost-resistant. Withstands a drop in atmospheric temperatures down to -30 degrees. It can freeze out after a thaw, in this case, young shoots must be covered if they have already begun to grow. With a two-year growing cycle, the shoots left are pruned, tied in bunches, and bent to the ground. A snow shelter is constructed of sawdust, earth, or non-woven material.

The variety is very resistant to most common raspberry diseases and pests.This is due to the fact that the above-ground part of the bush is removed annually, leaving the pests no chance of a successful wintering. In terms of its growing season, the Yellow Giant also outstrips the development of insects, so there is practically no chance to find spoiled or wormy fruits on the branches.

The usual breeding method for the Yellow Giant is by separating the root growth. But there is a subtlety here - in young bushes, it is not formed too abundantly. But plants over 10 years old give it very generously. In this case, the seedling is separated from the mother bush with a shovel bayonet, together with a part of the rhizome, and transferred to a new place.
