Raspberry Brilliantova pleases with its voluminous harvests before the onset of frost. At the same time, it does not require special care, it can bear fruit on any soil and is grown in many regions of Russia both for fresh consumption and as a base for compotes, jams and even jelly. It should be borne in mind that the variety is suitable for growing in an industrial environment.

Breeding history of the variety

The author of the variety in question was Academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences Ivan Vasilievich Kazakov. He is considered one of the leading breeders, popularizer of remontant varieties of raspberries.

A huge advantage of remontant varieties is that they do not need to be covered during cold weather. This is due to the formation of fruits on annual shoots. By pruning the bushes in the fall, you can expect to see fruit in the spring.

Description of the variety

The height of the bushes is about 1.2-1.5 m. They are spreading, the shoots are straight and slightly branching. The growth rate is average, under the weight of the fruits that are formed, the branches go down a little, but do not spread along the ground.

Annual stems have a green-red tint, but by the end of the year they turn purple. Already in the second year, the color becomes more brown. Thorns are extremely rare and very soft. Depending on the growing conditions, the bushes give from 1 to 6 shoots. High humidity causes overgrowth to appear.

The leaves have medium-sized plates, while curling slightly. The edges are slightly serrated, colored green. The resulting flowers are small.

Ripening terms

The first berries appear at the end of June. Full ripening occurs in the first decade of August. Fruiting continues until late autumn.

The collection must be carried out exclusively by hand, as there is a possibility of damage to the bushes. Fresh harvest is stored for no more than one week at a temperature not higher than 4 degrees Celsius, in the refrigerator the berries retain their qualities for up to two weeks.

Yield

Under good growing conditions, 2.5-3 kg can be harvested from one bush. In this case, you can use various methods that will allow you to get the desired result. They are as follows:

  • tying the bushes to the trellis, since the bush needs constant support;

  • correct watering also has a beneficial effect on the yield indicator;

  • the variety in question reacts negatively to the lack of potassium, preparation of the land and the timely introduction of nutrients are envisaged.

Berries and their taste

Berries of the brilliant raspberry variety are very beautiful, almost immediately striking. This determines the great popularity among gardeners.

The shape of the resulting fruits is broadly conical, the average weight of one fruit is 4 g. The seeds are rather large. Other features:

  • the pulp is juicy;

  • sweet and sour taste;

  • there is a faint aroma.

The resulting berries can be used for all home processing. Fresh can be transported over a long period.

How to choose a raspberry seedling
Due to its unpretentiousness, raspberries live in almost every garden plot. But in order to get tasty berries, you must first plant a healthy and strong seedling.In nurseries, shops and private sellers, you can find a huge assortment of seedlings, but how to determine their quality and be sure of the abundance of fruiting already upon purchase?

Growing features

Only with timely care of the plant can a high yield rate be ensured. The features of courtship include:

  • watering;

  • pruning;

  • top dressing;

  • partial closure for the winter.

There are several guidelines to consider when choosing a suitable landing site. If you ignore them, you can lose the bush.

Site selection and soil preparation

It is recommended to plant seedlings exclusively in nutritious areas. Loam and black earth are most suitable. The groundwater level is not higher than 1.5 m.

A flat area is selected for planting. It is not recommended to plant Diamond Raspberries in the lowlands, as they can accumulate a large amount of water - as a result, the plant will begin to rot.

Preparation involves the creation of holes 50-60 cm deep and about 50 cm wide. Often gardeners practice planting in trenches, along which all the seedlings are located.

It is recommended to prepare the soil in the fall. Moreover, for 1 sq. m you need to evenly distribute 10 kg of humus, 50 g of superphosphate and 30 g of potassium fertilizer. Immediately after planting, the bushes are cut at a height of 15-20 cm.

A plentiful and high-quality harvest in the future depends on the correct technology of planting a raspberry bush. It is necessary to choose the right planting material, determine the location and prepare the site.
Raspberry garter is a difficult and painstaking task. This requires time and imagination. But on the other hand, the benefits from this process are enormous. Thanks to the garter, the fruits ripen more intensively and regularly. Bushes are much less deformed, branches do not break off. After the garter, the berries are better preserved, and the greatest achievement at the same time is the convenience of harvesting.
The raspberry pruning process is an essential and essential part of caring for your garden and the key to harvesting large, juicy berries. Without pruning, raspberry shoots lose their strength and cease to bear fruit. It is very easy to avoid thickening of the raspberry tree: you only need pruning - in the spring, summer and autumn months.
One of the conditions for proper care of raspberries is proper watering. The rules for watering raspberries are the same for all varieties and varieties of this garden plant. Moistening should be carried out if the soil has dried out by 5 cm or more.
One of the most important conditions for growing large and sweet raspberries is timely fertilization. For each stage of development of the raspberry bush, different feeding is required. Fertilizers that are used at the beginning of the growing season of the plant are not suitable during flowering and ripening of berries.
Preparing raspberries for winter is another of the stages of berry care. If you start preparing raspberries for wintering in time, then next year you will get a rich harvest of delicious and sweet berries. Winter preparation activities include pruning, feeding, pest control, watering and shelter.

Unfortunately, raspberries, like other plants, do not bypass various diseases and pests. Only armed with the knowledge and the necessary means for this, you can cope with such troubles. To help the plant, it is very important to be able to recognize the disease in time and begin timely treatment.

Reproduction

At the time of active growth, the raspberry bush will give a large number of basal shoots, which can become excellent seedlings for further reproduction. Breeding recommendations are as follows:

  1. pruning is done at the root;

  2. after that, it is planted in a separate container;

  3. the desired moisture can be maintained by placing the bush under the jar.

Observations indicate that the offspring with a length of no more than 5 cm takes root best of all. Older shoots very often do not take root. It is recommended to prune the sprouts so that they do not take away the strength from the mother bush.

When planning the planting, it should be borne in mind that the bushes should be planted with an interval of 40-60 cm. Up to 2 meters are left between individual rows. This is done to ensure free access for fruit collection.

The variety is ideal for mid-latitude. It produces a large number of beautiful fruits, it just multiplies, it withstands frost well. However, you need to carry out correct and timely care.

There are many ways to breed raspberries. Raspberries can be diluted with root cuttings, woody cuttings and root cuttings. Regardless of the method of berry propagation, a number of requirements must be observed to ensure the receipt of high-quality planting material.
