Anyone wants to create a beautiful and unique design in their home. In this case, special attention should be paid to the selection of furniture. An excellent addition to almost any interior can be a Scandinavian-style table. Today we will talk about the features of such furniture structures and what materials they can be made of.

Peculiarities

Scandinavian-style tables are most often made from natural materials, including different types of wood. This kind of furniture is designed mainly in various light shades. Structures in this design do not clutter up the space of the room at all, but make it visually larger.

Tables in this style are distinguished by their simplicity and conciseness. They do not imply the presence of fancy decor or a large number of complex patterns, so this furniture most often acts as a neat addition to the interior.

Tables designed in this style should not be too large. Often they have a folding design, which, when folded, is the most compact model.

Currently, in furniture stores, each consumer can see a huge variety of different tables created in a laconic Scandinavian style. They may differ from each other depending on what kind of room they are intended for.

  • Kitchen. These models are most often decorated in white, diluting the overall design with natural wood inserts, which act as an interesting accent. Sometimes the base and legs are made in light colors, and the tabletop itself is made of wood (using light rocks). It is for the kitchen room that folding or sliding models can be the best option, which, if necessary, can be easily and quickly expanded.

Dining tables in most cases have a rectangular shape, there may be round options.

  • Bar. As a rule, such tables are also located in the kitchen area. They are designed in the same way as conventional kitchen designs, but at the same time they have longer fancy legs. They often have a narrower but longer table top. If the room has Scandinavian-style dining furniture, then the bar table can be selected in the same design and in the same colors.

Sometimes these products are made with several compartments at the bottom for storing food or dishes.

  • Living room tables. For such a room, small coffee tables in the Scandinavian style can be the best option. They are usually low in height. Many of them are completely made of light-colored natural wood. Sometimes different types of wood are used for the table top and legs.

Some models of coffee tables are made with a thin glass top.

In the Scandinavian style, work tables for offices can also be decorated. They look as neat and elegant as possible in the interior of such premises. Such designs are often made monochromatic in black or white colors. Sometimes, to make the table seem more interesting, the design is diluted with glass or wood elements.

Dressing tables of this type are also available, they can be produced with additional small compartments and shelves.

For a children's room, a computer compact table in this style would be an excellent option. This furniture can be suitable for schoolchildren. Many designs are completely decorated in one color scheme, while small sections with shelves that are attached to the wall covering go along with them. These options allow you to save a significant amount of space in the room.

Such models can simultaneously act as computer and writing tables.

Materials (edit)

For the production of such furniture structures, various materials can be used; some of the most popular ones can be distinguished.

  • Solid wood. This base is considered a classic option. It has the most attractive external design; an interesting texture of the material will act as the main decoration of the furniture. The massif has a long service life, oak varieties are especially durable and reliable. Natural wood is repairable.

If the surface has worn out during operation, its previous appearance can be easily restored by grinding and coating with a new layer of protective composition.

  • Plywood. Products made from such a base have the lowest cost. For production, thin sheets are used. Most often, birch or deciduous samples are taken. Tables made of this material look neat and beautiful.

The surface of these models, if necessary, can be painted or covered with veneer, which makes it possible to give the plywood a look similar to that of natural wood.

  • MDF and chipboard. These sheets also have a low price, therefore, it is from this material that tables in this style are most often made.

But the level of strength and reliability of such a base will be much lower compared to other varieties.

  • Metal. It is only used to create the base for the table. The material has a high level of strength and resistance to significant loads. Metal has a long service life. In the manufacture of tables, thin metal rods are taken.
  • Glass and plastic. These materials are rarely used. Glass can be either transparent or tinted. Plastic can also be transparent or monochromatic.

Design

The decoration of any table in the Scandinavian style is particularly laconic and neat. Monochrome options are made with a thin countertop, while the entire structure is completely created in black, white or gray colors. Sometimes for such products, thin square or rectangular tabletops made of transparent plastic or glass are used.

Designer models can be produced with a thicker worktop, decorated in white or black with large inlays in natural light wood. Models with a metal base made of bizarre rods are considered an interesting option. In this case, the table top can be completely glass or wooden.
