Causes of errors

F1

It occurs in the event of an open or short circuit in the temperature sensor circuit. Usually, this error leads to the end of the wash without heating the water. That is, the machine draws water and, not being unable to heat it, completes the wash. An error code is displayed on the screen.

F2

This code flashes on the display when the control contact of the hatch door is not activated, in other words, the door has not been tightly closed and locked. As a rule, with this error, a blue key also lights up on the display. The most harmless reason for this is an unclosed hatch door. F3

If this does not happen, a second attempt is made to fill the tank to the desired level. If unsuccessful, the display shows this error code. There may be several reasons for this - insufficient pressure in the water pipes, breakdown of water level sensors or water inlet valves.

F4 (E4 on models PG4 - PG5)

If this error appears in Gorenje models PG1 - PG3, this indicates the absence of a signal from the tachogenerator of the drive motor. As soon as the latter stops transmitting signals, the drive motor stops.

Gorenje PG4 - PG5 models have slightly different design features., therefore, for them, this error code indicates that there is no motor speed control from the inverter board. The latter may not be able to cope with the speed of the drive motor. In this case, the operation of the motor stops, and the display shows the error F4.

F5 (E5 on models PG4 - PG5)

F6 (E6 on models PG4 - PG5)

Indicates insufficient heating of the water in the tub after a certain time from the start of washing. More precisely, the error occurs if the water after the heating step is 15 degrees colder than that provided by the washing program. The main cause of the error is the breakdown of the heating element, although a second reason is also possible - a malfunction of the electronic controller.

It is noteworthy that the washing process in this case does not stop, the error is displayed at its end.

F7 (E7 on models PG4 - PG5)

Its appearance indicates that when the water is drained, its amount does not decrease below the first level. The reasons for this can be many, ranging from a clogged filter or drain pump to a lack of contact in the drain pump conductor, a malfunction of an electronic controller or a water level sensor.

F8

The code means insufficient speed (100 rpm lower than the prescribed program) of rotation of the drum during spinning. May be caused by a faulty drive motor or electronic controller, poor belt tension on the drive motor pulley.

If we are talking about models PG4 - PG5, then damage to the inverter is also possible.

F9

Its appearance is associated with the leakage of water into the sump, in connection with which special sensors are triggered. To prevent more serious breakdowns and fires, the water supply is automatically turned off and the heating elements and the drive motor are turned off. As a rule, such a defect is caused by one of two reasons - problems with the sealing of the elements of the machine or a malfunction of the sensors.

F32

The code indicates a breakdown of the drive motor control circuit. In this case, the washing program stops, the cause of the malfunction is the electronic control unit of the drive motor.

F4

The appearance of this error code signals the same problems as the F6 error in models PG1 - PG5 (insufficient water heating). The reasons are similar.

F41

Indicates that the water temperature has exceeded the permissible norm. In this case, the washing program stops and this code appears on the display. The reason is a malfunction of the electronic controller.

F43

Error value - too fast temperature rise during heating. This is considered an increase in temperature of more than 9 degrees per minute. There may be several reasons for this - a malfunction of the electronic controller, a low water level (usually caused by a breakdown of the water level sensor), leaks in the machine's tank or drain path.

F5

If this error code occurs, water is not drained from the tank during the "Drain" program, or the process is slow and the tank is not emptied within the allotted time. This can happen when the drain is clogged, the drain pump or its circuit is malfunctioning, the level sensor is malfunctioning.

F61

Indicates that the drum speed is not high enough in the Spin program. The speed is considered insufficient if it is 100 revolutions less than that provided for the selected wash mode. This can be caused by overloading the drum (for example, when the load exceeds the recommended weight), insufficient belt tension on the drive motor pulley, or a malfunction of the electronic controller or drive motor.

F63

The code arises in a situation when there is no communication between the electronic controller and the drive motor, or rather, the electronic regulation unit of the latter. The cause of the defect may be associated with the breakdown of one of these elements or a violation of the drive connections between them.

Elimination

Consider the ways to eliminate the listed errors of Gorenje washing machines. For convenience, let's group the solutions depending on the node where the error occurred.

Thermal sensor

In the event of errors related to this element, it is necessary to open the housing of the heating element. The desired assembly will be located between the left contact of the housing and its center bolt. To check the temperature sensor, a multimeter is set up on it, the resistance wires are disconnected and the necessary measurements are made.If the multimeter does not give indicators, the sensor has burned out and must be replaced.

Filling valve

Its task is to regulate the supply of water to the tank. If the machine does not collect water or, on the contrary, cannot shut it off, this indicates a breakdown of this valve. If such a nuisance occurs, first of all, you should rinse the filter of the washing machine located at its base. The filter is removed with pliers and washed under water. If by these actions it was not possible to correct the error, check the filling valve with a multimeter. This can be done by removing the cover of the washing machine.

Water level sensor

To eliminate errors associated with this unit, you must first remove it and rinse the sensor tubes under water. If this does not solve the problem, you need to check the sensor itself with a multimeter. If this did not help to eliminate the malfunction, you should start checking the electrical communications that fit the sensor.

Drain pump

One of the most vulnerable parts of this brand's washing machines. In case of trouble, the pump is replaced. It will be easier to get to it if you put the machine on its side. Then the tester measures the resistance of the pump. If the tester gives no resistance, the part must be replaced.

This can be done only by unscrewing the fasteners and replacing the broken element with a new one.

Heating elements

As in many machines, heating elements are the weak point of the models. One of the primary reasons for the failure of heating elements is aggressive chemistry, which, like a stone, settles on the elements and forms scale. The latter simply does not let heat through.

Other reasons include drops in mains voltage, improper operation of equipment.

If the machine stops heating the water, first of all, the resistance indicators of the heating element are checked with a tester (it will not be easy to get to it, it is better to mark it first with a felt-tip pen or take a photo of all the disconnected wires)). If these indicators are in the range of 0-1, then the heating element should be changed. If it is higher (from 10 Ohm), then everything is in order with the heating element, you should continue troubleshooting - check the temperature sensor and the wires coming from it.

Sometimes you can suspect a problem even before the device self-diagnosis works. For example, with increased vibrations and knocking of the drum, you should check whether it is clogged with foreign objects, whether the bearings are in order. If the cause of the knocking is found, it is necessary to eliminate it as soon as possible.

If the spinning quality is insufficient, most likely the reason lies in the weakening of the belt. This malfunction is easily and quickly eliminated, but you need to entrust it to a specialist.

More serious breakdowns such as burning odors, sparks and short circuits indicate a serious malfunction. Most likely, water got into the machine body. In this case, disconnect the device from the mains and do not attempt to repair it yourself. The machine should be taken to a service center or a specialist should be called at home.
