When purchasing a computer and household appliances, a surge protector is often bought on a leftover basis. This can lead to both operational problems (insufficient cord length, few outlets) and poor filtering of network noise and surges. Therefore, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the features and range of Most surge protectors.

Peculiarities

Most surge protectors are manufactured by SZP Energia, established in St. Petersburg in 1999. Unlike many other filter manufacturers who use the basic schemes of third-party companies in their production, Energia develops filter schemes and housings independently, taking into account the realities of the Russian electricity market.

The maximum allowable mains overvoltage for all Most filters is 430 V.

This value is sufficient for most situations, including phase-to-phase fault. Even in cases when the mains voltage exceeds this threshold, the automation installed in this technique will disconnect the mains and keep the devices connected to the filter. It is this well-thought-out scheme that distinguishes the company's filters from St. Petersburg from most of the analogues available on the Russian market.

All filter housings are made of durable plastic.

Another important advantage of these products is availability of service, since branches and representative offices of Energia are open in many large cities of the Russian Federation.

Model overview

All filters and extension cords produced by the company are divided into 8 lines. Let's consider each of them in more detail.

MOBILE

Products from this series are designed for travel use. All devices are plugged directly into an outlet. It includes the following models:

  • MRG - model with 3 sockets (1 euro + 2 conventional), maximum load - 2.2 kW, RF interference attenuation coefficient - 30 dB, maximum current 10 A;
  • MHV - differs from the previous version by improved filtering of impulse noise (maximum impulse current 20 kA instead of 12);
  • MS-USB - version with 1 conventional Euro socket and 2 USB ports, maximum load - 3.5 kW, current - 16 A, interference filtering 20 dB.

COMPACT

These products are intended for home and office use in cases where when you need to achieve maximum space savings:

  • CRG - 4 euros + 2 conventional sockets, load up to 2.2 kW, current up to 10 A, high-frequency filtering 30 dB, cord length - 2 m, 3 or 5 m;
  • CHV - differs from the previous version by additional protection against overvoltage of the supply network and impulse interference current increased to 20 kA.

LITE

This category includes simple budget options for extension cords:

  • LR - version with 6 conventional sockets, power up to 1.3 kW, maximum current of 6 A and RFI filtering factor of 30 dB. Available in 1.7 and 3 m cord lengths;
  • LRG - a filter with 4 euros and 1 regular outlet, rated load 2.2 kW, current up to 10 A, filtering noise of 30 dB;
  • LRG-U - differs from the previous model in a cord shortened to 1.5 m;
  • LRG-USB - differs from the LRG filter in the presence of an additional USB output.

REAL

This line combines models of the middle price category with enhanced protection relative to the Lite series:

  • R - differs from the LR filter in enhanced protection and improved interference filtering (pulse current 12 kA instead of 6.5), cord length options - 1.6, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 m;
  • RG - differs from the previous model in a different set of outputs (5 euros and 1 regular) and increased power (2.2 kW, 10 A);
  • RG-U - is completed with a plug for connection to UPS;
  • RG-16A - differs from the RG version with increased power (3.5 kW, 16 A).

HARD

This series includes variants specially designed for use in very unstable networks with a lot of interference and frequent overvoltages:

  • H6 - differs from the RG model in better filtering of interference (60 dB) and increased protection against impulse currents (20 kA);
  • HV6 - differs in the presence of additional protection against overvoltage.

ELITE

These filters combine the reliable protection of the Hard series and separate switches for each output, which makes working with them much more convenient:

  • ER - analogue of the R model;
  • ERG - analogue of the RG variant;
  • ERG-USB - differs from the previous model in 2 USB ports;
  • EH - analogue of the H6 filter;
  • EHV - analogue of the HV6 device.

TANDEM

This range combines models with two independent sets of outlets, each of which is controlled by a separate button:

  • THV - analogue of the HV6 model;
  • TRG - analogue of the RG variant.

ACTIVE

This series is designed for use with powerful consumers:

  • A10 - 2.2 kW extension cord with separate switches for each of 6 sockets;
  • A16 - differs in increased load up to 3.5 kW;
  • ARG - analogue of the A10 model with a built-in filter.

How to choose?

When choosing, you need to take into account such parameters.

  • Maximum load - to evaluate it, you need to sum up the power of all consumers that will be included in the filter, and then multiply the resulting number by 1.2-1.5.
  • Rated current - this value also limits the power consumption of devices connected to the filter. For stable operation of the equipment, it must be at least 5 A, and if you are going to connect powerful devices to the extension cord, then look for an option with a current of at least 10 A.
  • Overvoltage limitation - the maximum voltage surge that the filter is able to "survive" without shutdown and failure. The larger this parameter, the more reliably the equipment is protected.
  • RF Interference Rejection - shows the level of filtering of high-frequency harmonics that can interfere with the operation of networked devices. The higher this parameter, the more stable your consumers will work.
  • Number and type of outputs - it is important to evaluate in advance which devices you want to include in the filter, which plugs are installed on their cords (Soviet or Euro) and whether you need USB ports on the filter.
  • Cord length - it is worth immediately measuring the distance from the planned place of installation of the filter to the nearest sufficiently reliable outlet.
