Not only labor productivity, but also the safety of the master depends on the reliability and convenience of carpentry tools. Therefore, when preparing to purchase new tools, you should familiarize yourself with the overview of planers manufactured by Interskol.

Peculiarities

Interskol was founded in 1991 in the town of Khimki near Moscow. In 1998 the company merged with the IMZ plant, and in 2002 built a new plant in Bykovo. By 2008, total production exceeded 2 million instruments per year. In 2009, the company was reorganized into the Russian-Chinese enterprise ICG, and part of its production capacity was transferred to the PRC. In the same year, the firm bought the Italian carpentry tool manufacturer Felisatti.

Interskol planes differ from the products of most competitors:

  • simplicity and reliability of the design;
  • low price;
  • frame made of aluminum alloy;
  • ergonomic and minimalistic design;
  • relatively small number of additional functions;
  • the ability to connect a vacuum cleaner to the chip ejection branch pipe;
  • high mass (reduces vibration during operation, but makes it more difficult and tiring).

Range

At present the company "Interskol" produces such models of electric planers.

  • P-82/650 - a simple home hand model with a power of 0.65 kW at a speed of up to 16,000 rpm. Planing width - 8.2 cm, cutting depth - 2 mm. A quarter sampling mode is provided.
  • P-82/710 - home version with a power of 0.71 kW, the rotation speed of the cutting part - up to 12,500 rpm.
  • P-82 / 710M - modernization of the previous model, characterized by limiting the starting current, inclined installation of the knives on the working part and the wedge mechanism for moving the front bed, which significantly increases the quality of the resulting surface, as well as the presence of soft start and speed maintenance modes.
  • R-102 / 1100EM - household planer with a capacity of 1 kW. Rotation speed - 11000 rpm, stroke width - 10.2 cm, cutting depth - up to 2.5 mm. Supports the same modes as the previous model and is equipped with overload protection.
  • P-110 / 1100M - manual version with a power of 1 kW at a speed of up to 16,000 rpm and a kerf width of 11 cm (depth up to 3 mm). Supports soft start and start current limiting.
  • R-110-01 - semi-professional version with a bed. Power - 1.1 kW, speed up to 16,000 rpm, stroke width 11 cm, depth - up to 3 mm. Equipped with V-groove, side stop and soft start mode.
  • R-110 / 1150EM - semi-professional manual model with a power of 1.1 kW. The characteristics are similar to the previous version. In addition, it supports starting current limiting, protection against accidental restart and maintaining the speed of rotation.
  • R-110 / 2000M - a powerful (2 kW) professional planer with a stroke width of 11 cm and a depth of 3.5 mm. Supports soft start and quarter sampling.

How to choose?

When choosing, it is worth considering such parameters.

Power

The higher this parameter, the greater the cutting depth the device can provide. Besides more powerful planers can be used for harder types of wood:

  • from 0.45 to 0.6 kW - for soft wood with a density of less than 540 kg / m3 (pine, poplar, chestnut);
  • from 0.6 to 1 kW - used for processing wood with a density of 540 to 730 kg / m3 (maple, birch, apple);
  • from 1 to 1.5 kW - this tool can be used to process any wood, including the hardest (oak, acacia, ash);
  • from 1.5 to 2 kW - semi-professional and professional devices designed for fast processing of a large number of large-sized workpieces.

Drum speed

The smoothness of the surface obtained after processing depends on the rotational speed of the cutter:

  • up to 12,000 rpm - such planers are designed for roughing, the surface after them requires additional grinding and is sometimes covered with burrs;
  • from 12000 to 14000 rpm - the middle category of the tool, provide a relatively flat and high-quality surface, are used in everyday life and construction;
  • from 14000 to 18000 rpm - finishing planes provide the highest surface quality and are used in furniture production.

Processing area width

Another important indicator that determines the productivity of the work is the kerf width:

  • up to 10 cm - household models intended for home repair and construction work;
  • from 10 to 20 cm - semi-professional options for home locksmiths;
  • from 20 cm - professional sawmills.

Cutting depth

This parameter depends on the power and design features and determines the thickness of the wood layer removed in one pass:

  • up to 1 mm - models for finishing and fitting;
  • from 1 to 2 mm - household options that are used in repair and construction;
  • from 2 to 4 mm - professional planers for processing a large number of large-sized workpieces.

Additional features and accessories

When choosing, you should pay attention to the configuration and capabilities of the tool:

  • the folding shoe will save you the need to keep the plane suspended for a while after turning off, while the drum continues to rotate;
  • a smooth start will increase the safety of work immediately after starting, since the cutting part will accelerate more slowly;
  • maintaining the rotation speed will improve the quality of material processing and increase safety due to the fact that the plane will stop "accelerating" in areas with less hardness;
  • quarter sampling mode - will allow you to make U-shaped grooves in blanks (such planers are usually equipped with a parallel stop);
  • mounts for installation on a bed - planers equipped with this option can be fixed in the opposite position if necessary and used as a jointer;
  • V-shaped groove - allows you to remove high-quality end chamfers;
  • double-sided sawdust ejection - allows you to choose the direction of waste disposal, which makes it easier to work with the tool in a confined space.
