It is difficult to argue with the fact that the most prominent object in the interior, which to a greater extent affects the first impression of the house and its owner, is the ceiling. Much time is devoted to the refinement and beautiful design of this particular surface.

There are quite a few ways to decorate it, but seamless stretch ceilings are in high demand. Their types and features fully satisfy the requirements of even the most demanding buyers.

Peculiarities

Seamless stretch canvases are a popular and demanded method of modern finishing. Such ceilings are easy to install and maintain, economical, have aesthetic and decorative advantages. The technology of creating hinged structures allows them to be installed in premises of any purpose - in residential buildings, industrial complexes, sports and medical centers.

The main advantage of seamless tension systems is the perfectly flat ceiling plane without any joints, which ensures an excellent appearance. The canvases are produced in different sizes. On the market, you can find models with a maximum width of 5 meters, due to which there is no need to combine several canvases in spacious rooms.

The most demanding customers will be satisfied with an abundance of color proposals and a variety of textures for seamless stretch ceilings, they will be able to decorate the interior in any stylistic direction.

Hinged products are distinguished by the type of construction:

  • single-level;
  • multilevel;
  • stepped.

The important factors that have determined the popularity of seamless ceiling systems with the modern buyer are steel and their physical properties. Despite the apparent fragility of this type of product, they are very durable. If the installation is done according to all the rules, the canvas will never be damaged, which guarantees a long service life of this product.

Seamless coatings provide a protective function, protecting the premises from flooding by neighbors from above. But it takes time to extract water, airing, and sometimes special equipment to return the ceiling to its previous shape.

The canvases also have two significant drawbacks. The first is vulnerability. The canvas can be easily damaged by any piercing-cutting object, for example, a construction trowel for wall decoration. Second - care is required when selecting and installing spot lighting. The power of the lighting devices located on the ceiling should not exceed the established norms for the thermal susceptibility of the canvases.

Varieties and sizes

Today, domestic and foreign manufacturers of building materials offer two types of tensioning systems:

  • from PVC (polyvinyl chloride) film;
  • fabric (polyester impregnated with polyurethane).

Tissue

Another commonly used name is French. These are products of knitted weaving, which are made from polyester yarn; for greater strength, the fabric is impregnated with a polyurethane compound. It is realized in rolls, does not need heating before installation work.

The pluses of fabric ceilings include:

  • the ability to withstand large mechanical loads - even if a piece of plaster falls off, the fabric system will withstand the impact;
  • safety of installation work - a heat gun is not needed when installing a fabric structure;
  • durability - due to its strength, the fabric does not sag even after a dozen years of operation, the fabric does not wrinkle in the corners, and folds do not appear;
  • fabric awnings can be used in unheated buildings.

Despite the fact that ceilings made of polyester yarn are created from synthetic materials, they are completely safe for humans, they do not emit toxic elements into the space. The surface of the fabric cover does not attract debris, since the material does not electrify.

Fabric products do not become poorer over time and do not change color, do not emit an unpleasant stench, and are distinguished by excellent heat and sound insulation properties. They are moisture resistant, so they can be used in rooms with high humidity. In case of fire, they are not an additional source of fire, they do not burn, but smolder. The service life of fabric-covered ceilings is up to 25 years.

The disadvantages of seamless fabric ceilings include the high cost. But this factor is fully justified by the number of advantages of this type of coating.

Polyvinyl chloride

Seamless PVC canvases also provide a finished surface that is smooth and flawless. But the price for them is almost 1.5 times lower than fabric. They are highly waterproof and durable. A square meter of film can withstand up to 100 liters of water. After draining it, the ceiling regains its previous position, while the canvas does not deform and has the same attractive appearance as before.

PVC tensioning systems have the following advantages:

  • the canvases do not ignite - in the event of a fire, they slowly melt;
  • some subspecies feel good in rooms with high levels of humidity;
  • almost all manufacturers give a 10-15 year warranty for PVC ceiling structures.

The surface does not need special care. It is enough to periodically wipe it with a damp cloth soaked in soapy water, and any contamination can be easily removed, streaks will not appear. If the film is additionally impregnated with a special compound, then dust will not be attracted to its surface.

The color palette and type of texture amaze with a wide variety, you can buy a canvas of any color for any design idea.

The list of disadvantages of such stretch ceilings includes:

  • installation requires special expensive equipment - to heat the web up to t 50-60 degrees, you need a heat gun;
  • PVC film is an airtight product, therefore, a room with such ceilings must be regularly ventilated, otherwise steam and gas exchange will be disrupted;
  • in unheated rooms: a garage, a warehouse, a summer cottage, which is rarely visited and heated, the installation of PVC systems is impossible, since at an air temperature of less than 5 degrees, the film may begin to crack;
  • unpleasant odor - after installation, the canvas exudes an unpleasant odor, but disappears within a few hours.

Ceiling surface

PVC-based stretch ceilings without seam are divided into the following types.

  • Glossy. They are distinguished by a wide variety of color palettes and shades. The peculiarity of this type of coating lies in the shine and mirror effect, thanks to these characteristics, the space of the room visually becomes larger. They have a high reflection threshold (almost 90% - depending on the texture). Thanks to this feature, you can interestingly decorate the interior, but sometimes this is a significant drawback.

Light gloss will look great in a narrow corridor, in small and low rooms, and dark colors, on the contrary: they can decorate high and large rooms.

  • Matte. In appearance, matte tension structures resemble perfectly aligned plasterboard ceilings. They do not reflect the objects in the room, they slightly absorb light. The choice of colors of matte canvas is not limited to the classic solid white, has a rich palette of saturated and pastel shades.
  • Satin. Such canvases have the characteristic shine of satin fabric and minimal reflectivity. They are close to matte in appearance.
  • Canvases with photo printing. On the surface of any type of film or fabric, various patterns, patterns and images of different gamut and scale are applied.

Manufacturing features

The presentation of all the presented models differs not only in external data: color, shades, gloss or dullness, but also in technical characteristics, for example, width. The largest ones are made for fabric canvases - 5 m.If you need a ceiling without a seam to accommodate a large area, it is obvious that you will have to make a choice in favor of this option. The products comply with all the necessary safety and environmental parameters. Installation takes place without a heat gun, since the fabric does not need to be stretched, but is cut to fit the size of the room. Has a fairly high price.

You can get a ceiling without seams at a more affordable price using PVC cloths. French and Belgian companies offer films of 3.5 m, German manufacturers - 3 m. They are distinguished by a high degree of flexibility. Chinese brands create seamless films 4 and 5 m wide. This is quite enough to decorate the premises of a typical apartment.

To a greater extent, the installation of stretch seamless ceilings in Russia comes from the assortment of European manufacturers, which, in turn, does not have the best effect on the pricing of goods.

There are a large number of companies in the modern building materials market. The most famous are German Pongs, French Clipso Productions, Italian Cerutti. Products of the company Polyplast from Belgium are popular. The cost of European paintings is several times higher than Russian ones.

Ceiling-Alliance stands out among domestic manufacturers. The products are of decent quality and are sold at affordable prices for Russians. The main factories are located in Ivanovo, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod. Reviews of the canvases of this brand are positive, in terms of their properties, the products are not inferior to imported ones.

Thus, the standard sizes of seamless ceiling canvases on the market in the hands of experienced specialists can become the embodiment of an original design idea. With their help, you can get traditional or multi-level structures, which will certainly become the highlight of the house.
