Tips for choosing the optimal size

In order not to get confused in the variety of sizes of duvet covers, you need to take into account some points. For example, single-bed sets are rare commercially because manufacturers ignore these sizes.

In addition, when choosing duvet covers, you need to know the following parameters:

  • mattress size;
  • the size of the blanket;
  • the thickness of the blanket;
  • couple's preferences: sleeping under one or different blankets.

Most people prefer to cover themselves with blankets with a margin, so manufacturers are less likely to produce single sets. And if you still need a single duvet cover, then it is easier to choose one without a set.

The size of the mattress is taken into account when purchasing a blanket. You can choose the size that suits it, for a more convenient filling with a bedspread, or with a margin - then your blanket will aesthetically frame an unmade bed. After that we find out the size of the blanket.

The blanket is measured with a regular measuring tape or tape measure.

What sizes are blankets?

Standard:

  • one-and-a-half 140x205 and 155x215;
  • double 172x205 and 200x220.

Non-standard:

  • one and a half bed 160x205, 160x215, 160x220;
  • double 180x210, 195x215, 200x200;
  • royal: 220x240.

The thickness of the duvet must be taken into account in order to add 5-10 cm to the size indicated on the duvet cover label when choosing a duvet cover.

Some spouses prefer to sleep under one blanket, so they are advised to buy at least a large one-and-a-half, and for greater comfort - a double duvet cover of Russian or European standards. There are also couples who find it more convenient to sleep under different blankets, in which case a family set with two duvet covers would be most suitable.

And one more piece of advice. Read the labels on the linen carefully: sometimes manufacturers do not bother with matching the names of the sets and sizes. In this case, be guided by the size, not the name.

Choose the duvet covers that are right for you and enjoy a healthy and happy sleep.
