Varieties of styles

The modern choice of interior styles allows you to find a design for every taste: from the luxury of palace decoration to African exoticism. The style in which you can choose a bed for yourself will be discussed further.

Classical

In the strict sense, the classical style is called the style of the times of antiquity. Therefore, in such an interior, it would be logical to meet a bed with a wooden headboard and a high footboard. It can also be decorated with a chiffon canopy and traditional Greek ornaments.

Classicism

This is the style that they used to call classic. He came from palace interiors. The stylistics can be distinguished by the characteristic interweaving of elements of antique decor (traditional patterns, columns and statues) with the splendor of the palace decoration. The bed in the classic style, as a rule, has a soft headboard with carved wood edging and gilding. To decorate such a bed, accordingly, it is necessary to use expensive textiles with a glossy sheen and traditional patterns.

Empire style

It is characterized by the use of ancient Egyptian and late antique stylistics, as well as Roman imperialism. In interiors in this style, you can find an abundance of gilding, contrasting with dark or even ebony wood. Antique patterns and military emblems are actively used, for example, spears, arrows, a laurel crown. Accordingly, the bed will be made of dark wood with elements of gilding. It can also be decorated with a canopy, a characteristic Roman angular pattern and a laurel crown on the headboard.

Baroque

The style is characterized by rich and excessive decoration and splendor. Straight lines are difficult to see on a baroque bed. The decor is very complex and voluminous, consisting entirely of curls, stems and leaves. As well as for the Empire style, an abundance of gilding is characteristic.

Rococo

It is the successor to the Baroque, but with less opulent decoration. It is characterized by smooth, curved lines, sophistication and sophistication. Such a bed will stand on curved, carved legs that end in curls. It can be made of both dark and light wood. The decor consists of smooth lines that flow into each other and create intricate patterns.

Modern

Refers to the already modern styles that have replaced the pomp and pretentiousness of the decoration. The interior uses wood, metal, colored glass. All furnishings, from furniture to stair railings, are composed of whimsical, intertwining lines, often devoid of symmetry. At the same time, motifs resembling tree branches, leaves and flowers are characteristic. An Art Nouveau bed can have either a wooden or a metal headboard. For the manufacture of furniture, wood of different shades is used.

A distinctive feature is the interweaving of lines into unusual shapes and the absence of small elements in the pattern.

Ethnic

Ethnic styles have their roots in a wide variety of cultures around the world, from east to west and from north to south. Among them you can find both a restrained Scandinavian style and a bright oriental one.Accordingly, the bed will have all the characteristic features of a particular culture, for example, high spiers and a chiffon canopy for the East, or a low base for Japan.

A distinctive feature of all ethnic styles is the use of wood with minimal processing. That is, natural color and texture.

American country

This style is characterized by tall beds with a solid headboard and footboard made from simple straight planks. It can have a straight shape, but more often it is performed with a semicircular edge. The corners of the bed are decorated with carved elements of various shapes. The wood can be of a natural color or be painted with a light paint (white, blue, beige).

Rustic

Beds in this style are made from tree trunks and thick branches, or from boards with minimal processing. The use of boards even with tree bark is encountered. Plank models are distinguished by straight lines and right angles. In the corners of the bed, as a rule, there are straight posts. Both those and other models do not have any decor and are not processed with paint. It is also better to use textiles in a plain, natural color: beige, brown or white.

Scandinavian

Scandinavian-style beds are made of light wood. Sometimes they are painted with light paint (white or beige), but the style is more characteristic of the natural color of the wood. The models have a simple shape with a low, rectangular headboard. Footboards and decorative elements are very rare.

Mediterranean

Mediterranean-style beds have a lot in common with oriental ones. They are made of wood, have high spiers at the corners or a canopy. The fabric for the canopy is light, translucent, white. Often there is a design only with a frame for a canopy, without hanging fabric. In this case, the frame is usually decorated with a pattern or carving. The bed can be in natural wood color or can be painted white or blue. These colors are also used for textiles.

Interior decoration in white and blue colors is typical for this style as a whole.

English

English-style beds are made of dark or mahogany wood and often have an upholstered headboard. The headboard and footboard can have a curved or carved edge. Another characteristic feature is the "ears" around the edges of the headboard. Thus, it resembles the Russian letter "P". Carved elements in the corners, moldings (rectangular overlays) or floral patterns are used as decor. English-style bed textiles should be chosen with stripes, plaid or flowers.

Shabby chic

Such a bed can be both wooden and metal. The main thing is that it meets the requirements of the style: it is expensive and old. It can be either antique furniture with scuffs and peeling paint in places, or new - specially aged for shabby chic. Textiles can be plain or with a characteristic pattern of roses. The color scheme of furniture and textiles should be chosen from pastel shades of mint, beige, pink, peach and cream.

French

The bed, like all French-style furniture, has the characteristic features of classicism, empire and rococo: carved headboards, monograms, floral patterns and curved legs with curls at the ends. It is made of wood and, as a rule, is painted in a light color. It often has a soft headboard. Choose light textiles with a classic floral pattern. Provence style beds are simpler and do not have soft upholstery. Most often they have an even, solid headboard and footboard. Decorated with cut rectangles or crossed lines.

There are also models with a curved headboard, decorated with a small floral pattern and characteristic rectangles.

Chalet

Beds in this style incorporate features of the Scandinavian and French styles. They come in simple shapes with straight outlines, like furniture from northern latitudes. Or they can have decorative posts in the corners or crossed boards at the foot, like French models.

A distinctive feature of the style is the use of dark wood with the most natural appearance.

Russian

In contrast to the rustic style, a Russian-style bed is made of processed boards or a log house. It can have carved decor on the headboard and posts in the corners. The textiles are characteristic with traditional Russian patterns.

Colonial

The style is distinguished by the interweaving of European principles of interior design with features collected from the colonial territories. Thus, a bed in this style usually has a canopy or characteristic tall carved spiers. Made from dark wood. It is better to choose textiles with traditional North and South African patterns.

Modern

Bed in style high tech, as a rule, has an even glossy headboard in white, gray or black. Maybe on metal legs. Textiles must be chosen in a single color, preferably in a muted shade. For style furniture techno the same color scheme is characteristic as for hi-tech. The same applies to the materials from which it is made. However, a techno-style bed can have more bizarre shapes, such as a flat base that is wider than a mattress.

Beds in style minimalism may not have a headboard. If it is, then it can be either hard or soft. The color of natural wood is practically not used. As a rule, furniture is made of MDF board and has a decorative colored coating. It is better to choose plain textiles. It can be either muted or rather bright shades. For eco-style the same simple form is characteristic as for minimalism. But in this case, a tree with the most natural appearance is used.

Exotic

Beds in oriental style have bright features: high carved spiers, chiffon canopies, dark wood, an abundance of colorful textiles. Chinese style as well as oriental tends to dark wood and red. However, the shape of the bed is much simpler. It will have a solid rectangular headboard and a low base. Accordingly, it is better to choose textiles with red elements. The hallmark of the bed in moroccan style is a dome-shaped headboard. As well as textiles in red-brown tones with national ornaments.

Nautical

The main characteristic of the nautical style is the combination of three colors: white, blue and beige (or light brown). Accordingly, the bed should be decorated in this range. The shape of the bed is as simple as possible: with a solid straight headboard and footboard, as a rule, nailed from straight boards. The wood can be natural or white. Textiles are best suited blue or combined with white.

Beautiful interiors

Let's start with a bed that will suit most modern interiors. Thanks to its stylish design, it will be part of the decor of the entire room. Many bedrooms are decorated in brown tones, as it has a beneficial effect on the emotional state. And coffee tones, in addition, also look very refined and sophisticated. Therefore, the color of coffee with milk, in which the bed is made, is quite relevant and helps to create a cozy atmosphere and great design.

The following model is a prime example of an Art Nouveau bed. The metal headboard and footboard, made of smooth, intertwining lines, look very original and unusual. This is what distinguishes this style in the interior. Such a bed attracts a lot of attention, so the bedroom decor should be approached very carefully so as not to add unnecessary details to the interior.

The next model is made in a modern embodiment of the Rococo style. An elegant black bed with graceful flowing lines and soft finishes will be a worthy completion of both a respectable Rococo interior and an extravagant one - in the Art Deco or eclectic style.

Now let's look at an example of how one piece of furniture can become the center of a design composition. "Ears" of the headboard of a modern bed in the English style, soft upholstery and a relief surface can instantly create a refined, aristocratic image of a modern bedroom, even without additional elements and decor details.

Finally, consider a bed suitable for a minimalist, Scandinavian or eco-style design. Straight lines and even angles create a stylish and modern look, while the natural color of the wood makes the bedroom cozy and comfortable.
