An oak bed will become an unsurpassed decoration of a bedroom. Such products are distinguished by their solid and rich design. It is necessary to choose oak furniture with all responsibility, since the quality of sleep will directly depend on the correctness of your choice.

Features, pros and cons

Everyone knows that natural wood furniture is the most successful, durable and beautiful. But we must not forget that the price for such products is quite high. If the budget and footage of the apartment allow you to purchase a bed made of natural and eco-friendly material, then you can “walk around” and purchase a luxurious option from solid oak.

As a rule, such options have impressive dimensions and look massive. For this reason, it is not recommended to have spacious beds in small rooms, as visually the space may decrease and seem cramped.

The main advantage of a beautiful oak bed is not its regal and rich appearance, but its durability. Such furniture will serve its owners for more than one decade and will attract admiring glances from guests.

At the very mention of an oak bed, heavy dark brown furniture immediately comes to mind. In fact, oak is rich in shades and in its pure form has a light surface. As a rule, natural oak products are not painted in any colors. This is due to the fact that such a luxurious material has a unique natural pattern, which is inappropriate to hide.

By placing an aristocratic oak bed in the bedroom, you can enrich the interior and add notes of chic and luxury to it. Many owners acquire such lovely models in order to emphasize the status of the entire home as a whole. A high-quality oak bed will not harm the ecology of the apartment.

Natural wood products emit any kind of chemicals.

It is also worth mentioning that oak is not susceptible to mold. Various tree parasites and bugs do not appear on it.

But this magical furniture has its drawbacks. For example, not every person can afford a natural oak model because of its high cost. Even the most laconic and austere solid oak bed looks heavy, which is why such products are not suitable for small areas.

Oak beds are heavy and not very mobile. Only an adult strong man can move such furniture during cleaning or rearrangement.

Models

A variety of bed models are made from natural oak. They can have different configuration options and decorative elements.

  • Most often people buy classic oak rectangular beds... These can be double, single or one and a half sleeping options. The design of such models can be made in a variety of directions, but the most common are luxurious classic beds.
  • Slightly less common oak beds corner structure... Such furniture looks modern and interesting, but not suitable for all layouts. Corner models are equipped with bumpers that visually make the berth wider. Because of this, such furniture looks rather large, and it can only be placed in the corner of a spacious room.
  • Not so long ago, incredibly fashionable and original beds appeared on the market. round shape... Oak rounded models will look harmonious not only in an apartment, but also in a large country house.
  • For a bedroom with two children, the most successful option would be a comfortable bunk bed from solid oak. This kind of bedroom furniture has been popular for many years, as it is ideal for small spaces, combining two separate sleeping beds. Often, such designs are complemented by stairs, steps, wardrobes and folding tables. A multifunctional oak bunk bed is unlikely to be cheap.

Many experts argue that it is not at all necessary for children to buy such expensive furniture, although it is of unsurpassed quality. This is due to the fact that children grow quickly and soon the expensive bed will have to be put aside, replaced by a new and more spacious model.

  • Comfortable and functional beds are widespread today. with lifting mechanisms... In such models, there is a folding base that rises with the mattress and opens a spacious niche in the lower part. Many owners store seasonal items, shoe boxes with various items and, of course, bedding in such compartments.
  • For a small room, you can purchase a compact ottoman bed from solid oak. Such products are more often single and do not differ in large space. Such furniture looks very interesting and rich, especially if it has elegant and flowing lines of backs and armrests.

Oak beds can have different headboards and footboards.

The backs are most often rectangular or square parts of small thickness. They are made from the same material as the furniture frame. The oak headboard can be hard or soft.

Rigid options are often complemented by beautiful carved compositions, patterned weaves or laconic relief lines.

Products in which the headboards are trimmed with natural leather or high-quality velvet fabric look no less attractive and expensive. As a rule, such models are equipped with expensive and high quality upholstery.

For connoisseurs of "royal" interiors, a luxurious oak bed with a curly headboard is suitable. Such options can be supplemented with upholstery or remain rigid. These spectacular interior items will look organic not only in classic, but also in pretentious settings.

How to care?

High-quality and expensive furniture always needs special care. Oak beds will not retain their original appearance without the participation of the owners:

  • Immediately after you put a solid oak bed in your apartment or house, it should be left for a day and not loaded with a mattress or bed linen. This is necessary so that the residues of furniture oils, which are used to treat wooden furniture before transportation, disappear from the natural material.
  • The oak bed should not be placed next to heating appliances or in direct sunlight. In such conditions, the wood will dry out and crack.
  • From time to time, it is recommended to wipe an expensive model with a cloth with a special composition that moisturizes the wood and gives it an attractive shine. Similar products can be found in specialized furniture stores. Most often, they are based on linseed oil.
  • If it becomes necessary to move the oak bed, then this must be done with the utmost care, since furniture made of this expensive material is very heavy. In no case should the bed be pulled by the legs, footboard or back, as under the influence of heavy boards, the fasteners of these parts may not withstand and break.
  • Protect your oak bed from contaminants such as spilled coffee, tea or wine. If, nevertheless, you stain the wooden furniture, then you should wipe it off immediately so that the dirty spots do not have time to eat into the frame structure.
