There are many companies producing home air conditioners, but not all of them can guarantee the quality of their products to their customers. The Electrolux brand has really good build quality and materials.

Brand info

AB Electrolux is a Swedish brand that is one of the best manufacturers of household and professional appliances in the world. Each year, the brand produces over 60 million of its products for consumers in 150 different countries. The main headquarters of Electrolux is located in Stockholm. The brand was created already in 1910. During its existence, it managed to win the trust of millions of buyers with its quality and reliability.

Types and their characteristics

There are many air conditioners for the home. They are used to classifying them this way:

  • split systems;
  • heat pumps;
  • mobile air conditioners.

Split systems are one of the most common types of home air conditioners. They are distinguished by their relatively low cost and high efficiency. Such devices are perfect for working indoors, the area of which is no more than 40-50 square meters. m. Split systems are subdivided according to the principle of operation into devices such as inverter, traditional and cassette.

Inverter air conditioners often have more functionality than others. They are characterized by high stability during operation and extremely low noise level. The volume of sounds emitted by the air conditioner can reach 20 dB, which is very low compared to other models.

The energy efficiency of inverter devices is an order of magnitude higher than that of all others, although the level of consumed electricity also increases.

Traditional split systems are the most classic air conditioners. They have less functionality than inverter ones. Often there is only one “special” function in one device, such as a timer, a memory for the position of the blinds, or something else. But, this type of split system has a serious advantage over others: a variety of cleaning types... Traditional air conditioners have 5 or 6 stages of cleaning, and even a photocatalytic filter can be used (due to this, they have a high efficiency even with lower consumption).

Cassette air conditioners are the most ineffective type of split systems. In another way, they are called exhaust fans. They are fixed mainly on the ceiling and represent a small square plate with a fan. Such devices are very compact, consume little power and have a low noise level (from 7 to 15 dB), but they are extremely inefficient.

Such split systems are suitable only for small rooms (they are often installed in small offices in the corners).

In addition to the principles of operation, split systems are subdivided according to the type of attachment. They can be attached both to the wall and to the ceiling. Only one type of air conditioners is fixed to the ceiling: cassette air conditioners. All other types of split systems are fixed to the wall, except for floor ones.

Ceiling air conditioners are more difficult to install as you will have to disassemble part of your ceiling. In addition, only the oldest models are predominantly referred to as the ceiling type. Many companies have not carried out serious developments in this area of split systems for a long time.

Heat pumps are a more advanced design of inverter split systems. They have improved cleaning systems and additional functions. Their noise level is about the same as that of inverter split systems.

Electrolux models have a plasma air purification function that kills up to 99.8% of all harmful microorganisms. Such devices do an excellent job with the main function - they can effectively cool air even at temperatures of 30 degrees and above (while their power consumption is slightly higher than that of inverter split systems).

Mobile air conditioners, which are also called floor-standing air conditioners, are fairly large portable devices. They are installed on the floor and have special wheels, thanks to which they can be moved anywhere in the house. These air conditioners are not very expensive compared to other types. Such devices are capable of performing almost all the functions that other types of air conditioners have.

Currently, all the leading brands are developing specifically for mobile devices.

    Popular models

Electrolux has a very large range of home air conditioners. The most popular and best models are: Electrolux EACM-10 HR / N3, Electrolux EACM-8 CL / N3, Electrolux EACM-12 CG / N3, Electrolux EACM-9 CG / N3, Monaco Super DC Inverter, Fusion, Air Gate.

      Electrolux EACM-10 HR / N3

It is a mobile air conditioner. This device will work most efficiently in rooms up to 25 sq. m., so it is not suitable for everyone. The Electrolux EACM-10 HR / N3 has a lot of functions, and it copes with all of them remarkably. Also, the air conditioner provides several operating modes: fast cooling mode, night mode and dehumidification mode. In addition, there are many built-in sensors: room and set temperatures, operating mode and others.

The device has a high power (2700 watts for cooling). But, Electrolux EACM-10 HR / N3 should not be installed in the bedroom, as it has a very high noise level, reaching 55 dB.

If the surface on which the unit is installed is uneven, the air conditioner may vibrate.

        Electrolux EACM-8 CL / N3

A slightly less powerful version of the previous model. Its maximum working area is only 20 sq. m., and the power is cut to 2400 watts. The functionality of the device has also been slightly reduced: there are only 3 operating modes left (dehumidification, ventilation and cooling) and there is no timer. The maximum noise level of the Electrolux EACM-8 CL / N3 reaches 50 dB during active cooling, and the minimum noise is 44 dB.

Like the previous model, this air conditioner should not be installed in the bedroom. However, for an ordinary office or living room in the house, such a device will be very useful. Judging by customer reviews, the Electrolux EACM-8 CL / N3 performs all its functions perfectly.

The energy efficiency of the device leaves much to be desired, even for a mobile type of air conditioners.

            Electrolux EACM-12 CG / N3

It is a newer and more advanced version of the Electrolux EACM-10 HR / N3. The gadget has significantly increased both characteristics and the number of functions performed. The maximum work area is 30 sq. m., which is a very high indicator for a mobile air conditioner. The cooling power has been increased to 3520 watts, and the noise level reaches only 50 dB. The device has more modes of operation, and thanks to new technologies, energy efficiency is increased.

Electrolux EACM-12 CG / N3 is very well suited for use in small studios or halls. It has no significant drawbacks, with the exception of a high noise level, as with previous devices. The color in which this model is produced is white, so the device is not suitable for every interior.

                Electrolux EACM-9 CG / N3

Quite good analogue of Electrolux EACM-10 HR / N3. The model is slightly less powerful, but has good characteristics. The cooling power of Electrolux EACM-9 CG / N3 is 2640 watts, and the noise level reaches 54 dB. The system has an extended hose for hot air outlet, and also has an additional cleaning stage.

The main operating modes of the Electrolux EACM-9 CG / N3 are cooling, dehumidification and ventilation. The device does a good job with everything except dehumidification. Buyers note that this air conditioner has some difficulties with this process, and it does not perform it as expected.

The model is noisy enough, so it is definitely not suitable for bedrooms or children's rooms, but it is quite possible to put it in the living room.

                Monaco Super DC Inverter

A series of wall-mounted inverter split systems, which is a mix of efficient and powerful devices. The weakest of them has a cooling capacity of up to 2800 watts, and the strongest one - up to 8200 watts! Thus, at Electrolux Monaco Super DC EACS / I - 09 HM / N3_15Y Inverter (the smallest air conditioner from the line) the energy efficiency is extremely high and the noise level is incredibly low (only up to 26 dB), which will allow you to install it even in the bedroom. The most powerful device of the Monaco Super DC Inverter has a noise threshold of 41 dB, which is also an excellent indicator.

This superior performance allows the Monaco Super DC Inverter to perform better and more efficiently than any other Electrolux product. These air conditioners do not have any significant drawbacks.

The only thing that buyers mark as a minus is their price. The most expensive model costs from 73,000 rubles, and the cheapest - from 30,000.

                Fusion

Another line of air conditioners from Electrolux. This series includes 5 air conditioners related to classic split systems: EACS-07HF / N3, EACS-09HF / N3, EACS-12HF / N3, EACS-18HF / N3, EACS-18HF / N3 and EACS-24HF / N3. The most expensive device (the EACS-24HF / N3 has a cost of 52,900 rubles in the official online store) has a cooling capacity of 5600 watts and a noise level of almost 60 dB. This air conditioner has a digital display and several operating modes: 3 standard, night and intensive cooling mode. The energy efficiency of the device is very high (corresponds to class "A"), so it does not consume as much electricity as its counterparts.

EACS-24HF / N3 is perfect for large offices or other premises, the area of which does not exceed 60 square meters. m. For its performance, the model weighs little - only 50 kg.

The cheapest device from the Fusion series (EACS-07HF / N3) costs only 18,900 rubles and has a high power, which is what many buyers like. The EACS-07HF / N3 has the same operating modes and functions as the EACS-24HF / N3. However, the cooling capacity of the air conditioner is only 2200 watts, and the maximum area of the room is 20 square meters. m. Such a device will perfectly perform its functions in a living room at home or even in a small office. Energy efficiency class EACS-07HF / N3 - "A", which is also a big plus.

                Air gate

Another popular series of traditional split systems from Electrolux is Air Gate. The Air Gate line includes 4 models and as many as 9 devices. Each model has 2 colors: black and white (except for EACS-24HG-M2 / N3, as it is only available in white). Absolutely every air conditioner from the Air Gate series has a high-quality cleaning mechanism that simultaneously uses three types of cleaning: HEPA and carbon filters, as well as a cold plasma generator. The energy efficiency, cooling and heating class of each device is rated "A".

The most expensive air conditioner from this series (EACS-24HG-M2 / N3) costs 59,900 rubles. The cooling power is 6450 watts, but the noise level leaves much to be desired - up to 61 dB. The cheapest device from Air Gate - EACS-07HG-M2 / N3, costing 21,900 rubles, has a capacity of 2200 watts, and the noise level is slightly lower than that of the EACS-24HG-M2 / N3 - up to 51 dB.

                Instructions for use

In order for the purchased air conditioner to serve you as long as possible, you must follow some rules for its operation. There are only three basic rules, but they should be followed.

                1. You cannot use the equipment for a long time without interruption. The following mode is considered completely safe: 48 hours of work, 3 hours of "sleep" (in standard modes, except for night mode).
                2. When cleaning the air conditioner, do not allow excessive moisture to get inside the unit. Wipe it both outside and inside with a slightly damp cloth or special alcohol wipes.
                3. All devices from Electrolux have a remote control in the kit, with the help of which the entire setting of the air conditioner is carried out. Climbing inside and trying to twist something on your own is not recommended.

Setting up an Electrolux air conditioner is very simple: the remote control has all the information and parameters that can be controlled. You can lock or unlock the device, change operating modes, the cold level and much more directly through this remote controller. Some of the air conditioners (mainly the newest models) have a Wi-Fi module on board for control via a smartphone and integration into a “smart home” system. Using a smartphone, you can turn on or off the device according to a set schedule, as well as do everything that the remote control allows you to do.

                Maintenance

In addition to following the rules for operating the air conditioner, it is necessary to carry out its maintenance every 4–6 months. Maintenance consists of a few simple steps, so it is not necessary to call a specialist - you can do it yourself. The main steps that you will have to perform are disassembly, cleaning, refueling and assembly of the device.

Disassembly and cleaning of Electrolux devices is carried out in several stages. This is the easiest step in maintenance, even a child can disassemble the air conditioner.

                  Parsing and cleaning algorithm.

                  1. Unscrew the fixing screws from the bottom and from the back of the device.
                  2. Carefully remove the top cover of the air conditioner from the fasteners and clean it from dust.
                  3. Remove all filters from the device and wipe the area where they were located.
                  4. Replace filters if necessary. If the filters do not need to be changed yet, then the components that need it should be cleaned.
                  5. Wipe off dust from all the insides of the air conditioner using an alcohol wipe.

After you have disassembled and cleaned the device, it should be refilled. Refueling of the air conditioner is also carried out in several stages.

                    1. If you have an Electrolux air conditioner model that was not covered in this article, the instructions may differ. Owners of the newest air conditioners need to find a special locked hose connector inside the unit. For owners of older models, this connector may be located on the back of the device (therefore, wall-mounted devices will also have to be removed).
                    2. Electrolux uses Creon in their devices, so you should buy a can of this gas from a specialized store.
                    3. Connect the cylinder hose to the connector and then unlock it.
                    4. Once the device is fully charged, first close the cylinder valve, then lock the connector. Now you can carefully detach the cylinder.

Assemble the device after refueling. Assembly is carried out in the same way as disassembly, only in reverse order (do not forget to reinstall the filters in their places).
