With the advent of new technologies, the issue of choosing products for the construction and decoration of a country house was resolved. This also affected the entrance doors. Shutters and padlocks have been replaced by professionally made designs that allow for easy operation of products, reliability and durability. The range of design solutions has expanded. Now you can choose different options for every taste and wallet, without compromising quality and maintaining the performance of the assigned functions.

Types of double-glazed windows

In modern types of entrance doors, in addition to blind structures, various types of finishes are used, which include double-glazed windows. They differ in size and shape and can perform not only the function of glazing, but also perform an essential decorative role.

Double-glazed windows are single-chamber - two glasses with a thickness of 4 mm, hermetically planted with mastic on an aluminum frame; two-chamber - three glasses; three-chambered can be made to order.

On request, the glass unit is filled with an inert gas - argon, which reduces the percentage of noise penetration and heat loss.

There are improved options:

  • energy-saving - one of the glasses is coated with chrome or silver, which reflects heat and transmits less ultraviolet rays;
  • multifunctional - the outer glass has a sun-protection coating plus energy-saving spraying. Such bags do not heat up in summer and keep warm in winter;
  • noise-absorbing - one of the glasses is 6 mm wide;
  • shockproof - they have external triplex glass, these are two specially glued glasses. Or a special anti-shock film is applied to the glass.

Design features

When a large cottage is being built, the entrance lobby is designed. The design is selected depending on the location and direction of the entrance opening.

If the exit leads to the porch, it will be a swinging vestibule single-leaf or double-leaf door on the latches. If - to the terrace, then you can choose both conventional and folding or sliding doors, they significantly increase the width of the passage. If a closed veranda is being built, then the entrance group can be used as a load-bearing part. For this, there are special extensions as an auxiliary element, and the doors are equipped with amplifiers. Simple balcony doors are also suitable for the veranda.

The sizes of double-glazed windows can be different up to the fact that they will occupy the entire area. This allows more daylight to enter the room.

The main requirements for double-glazed windows of entrance groups in a country house include heat and sound insulation, burglary resistance and design.

The design features of burglary resistance include reinforced hinges and a lock. There are also hidden hinges and secret locks to increase security. For metal entrance doors, a lever lock or a combined lever and cylinder lock is best suited. Such a lock has a blocking of one of its parts, if an attempt is made to break into another part of it. The number of crossbars must be at least three. To increase burglary resistance, add side bolts.

The double glazing itself presents a sufficient problem for unauthorized entry. To improve safety, impact-resistant tempered glass and forged grilles are added to its design.

Heat and sound insulation is achieved by using a double insulated circuit along the entire perimeter of the canvas.

Entrance group materials

Entrance groups can be made of various materials with varying degrees of strength:

Metal-plastic (PVC profile)

The reliability of plastic products is ensured by the reinforced profile and the material's resistance to damage and mechanical stress. Plastic doors have high performance properties due to the good resistance of the material to moisture and temperature extremes. Plastic has high sound insulation performance. In the PVC profile, there are special air chambers for thermal insulation and sound insulation of the structure. To increase the strength, the chambers can be filled with iron guide plates.

Aluminum doors

Aluminum doors are considered the coldest and most fragile in comparison with iron and PVC profiles; they are used mainly for verandas and vestibules.

Wooden

Wooden entrance groups with double-glazed windows are considered one of the most expensive, but they are also environmentally friendly. The most demanded types of wood today are pine, larch and oak.

They give the front entrance of a country house a respectable look, but they also require special care. To protect the wooden material of the doors, a rain and snow visor is installed. The door leaf itself is impregnated with special water-repellent compounds.

The cladding of the entrance group of a country house can be done in different ways and materials:

  • Iron doors are painted with powder paint of any shade. As a rule, it is white or woody range of natural colors;
  • Wooden doors are decorated with carvings or inlays;
  • Decor elements made of veneer or laminate, MDF linings are a fairly inexpensive way to decorate an entrance door.

Decor

Of particular importance is the design of the entrance door with a glass unit.

  • In order to hide the interior from prying eyes, there are matte, tinted and mirror films with varying degrees of sunlight penetration. To some extent, the films also serve to strengthen the structure.
  • A highlight for the door will be a double-glazed window with a photo print or an engraved pattern.
  • Decorative layouts give the glass unit a special style and grace. Shprossy is a rigid layout that is mounted inside the package and serves not only as decoration, but also strengthens the structure. Most often it looks like squares, but at the request of the customer, the drawing can be changed. The use of shpros makes it easy to care for the product. It is easy to clean with normal detergents and water.
  • False binding is an overlay decorative element that is glued to the outer sides of a glass unit. It can be done with your own hands, giving free rein to imagination. It looks especially gorgeous on wooden products.
  • Inserts with stained glass mosaic glass will be a good decoration for the front entrance and street door, since there is a large selection of types of such material.
  • The use of forged grilles will become a rare addition to external doors. They are made by hand, which allows you to embody any fantasy of the customer, and make the door exclusive. Welded and blown grates are a cheaper option, but they also provide an equal opportunity to bring creative ideas to life.

Installation of the entrance group

Installing a door with a double-glazed window is a complex technological process that requires professional skills and special tools. Obviously, the work process should be completely entrusted to professional installers.As a rule, manufacturing firms themselves offer the installation of products, in this case there is no need to order the performance of work separately.

Installation of the structure is carried out in several stages. First, the door frame is installed, it will serve as the main supporting element. Then the door openings are glazed with a sealant. If necessary, in a pre-ordered material, glazed openings are equipped with decorative grilles.

After installing the door in the hinges of the box, the quality of its work is checked: it should close tightly, work silently, the keys in the locks are easy to turn. Sometimes the entrance groups are equipped with metal door closers.

Configuration

Entrance doors differ in their opening mechanisms.

They may be:

  • Swing. This is a traditional one- or two-leaf design that opens in a specific direction: inward or outward;
  • Sliding. They are set in motion by means of an upper or lower roller mechanism, the direction of movement is along a free wall;
  • Foldable. Just like sliding ones, they work due to the installed rail. The leaves move and stack on top of each other perpendicular to the opening and walls;
  • Pendulum. With an amplitude of movement outward and inward, according to the principle of the entrance doors of the subway. Not practical for residential use;
  • Carousel. They rotate due to the shaft installed in the center of the opening. They are used in large country houses, as a decor option for a veranda.

Design

The shape of the doors can become an original decoration for your home, if you pay attention to the varieties of forms of entrance groups.

In addition to traditional rectangular doors, pay attention to:

  • doors for arched openings, semicircular, asymmetric;
  • entirely double-glazed units, decorated with fine handmade forging;
  • combined options, consisting of different materials, where metal, glass and wood are beautifully combined.
