Double-leaf entrance metal doors are currently used everywhere: in banks, private houses, government agencies. Until recently, wooden products were more popular, but now metal structures are also ordered very often. Such doors are very reliable, because they are treated with special anti-corrosion agents, do not rot, and serve their owner as long as possible.

Usually metal products are very reliable, but they do not always provide reliable protection against intruders. It all depends on the quality characteristics.

High quality metal products:

• Contains no hazardous elements (eg chipping).
• They do not clang or creak, there is no noise from them.
• Protect from wind and noise from the street.
• They do not contain substances that negatively affect human health.
• Prevents entry into the premises of persons who are trying to break or cope with locks.

The door hinges close and open with little effort. They can easily withstand the weight. Outdoor double-leaf metal structures become a salvation when the load on the hinges is too significant or the passage is too large for single-leaf doors. Double-leaf models are more durable, because they put less pressure on the hinges, so the weight is distributed more evenly.

The door blocks include:

• locking mechanisms;
• profiles;
• sheets.

Steel sheets have a thickness of 1.2 mm. They provide reliable protection against intruders. To make the door more rigid, manufacturers use special stiffeners. Such elements are vertical and horizontal. If vertical options are used, the structure is additionally reinforced with an inner steel sheet.

For iron double-leaf doors, the following locks are often used:

• Safe with a cylinder mechanism.
• Lever safe, with 4 or 3 crossbars (the so-called steel gate valves that provide protection).

The lock can be attached to the door using a special pocket, horizontally or frontally. It should not be located only at the end - otherwise the door will not provide sufficient protection and you will have to strengthen it using other mechanisms.

Usually, the internal insulation of a metal structure is provided by mineral wool. In many cases, metallurgical waste and basalt are used for its manufacture. Mineral wool is characterized by increased vapor permeability. The liquid can freely pass through the insulation, it does not remain on it.

Mineral wool provides increased thermal insulation, it is environmentally friendly. For fire doors, it is often used as a filler. If you work correctly with high-quality mineral wool, it will not crumble.

There are many sizes, types of entrance doors on sale.A large number of colors (including white) and various finishing materials allows you to choose the most suitable option in a particular case - according to your budget and preferences. You can also make an order individually and get the appearance of the structure that fully meets your wishes. You should only contact only reliable masters for this, otherwise the results may be disappointing.

You can opt for more inexpensive options: for example, MDF trim, imitating valuable materials (beech, hazel, mahogany, and so on). These panels protect from heat, cold and high humidity, but such structures are more expensive than metal products, which are created using special powder coatings or polymers.

Inexpensive, but at the same time an original way of facing the entrance structures is finishing with plastic panels, upholstery with leatherette or vinyl leather. The artificial leather protects against condensation that accumulates on the steel surface due to the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor. Plastic panels provide the same result.

The surface must be resistant to precipitation (snow, rain), heat, frost. The interior panels located on the side of the room must also be resistant to various influences.

The materials that work best are polymer coatings and aluminum. True, you also need to focus on the style of the interior. For the classics, such designs will not work, but for high-tech they will be just wonderful options.

To install metal doors, you need to prepare the following:

• construction tape;
• pegs made of wood;
• hammer;
• you will also need a level, a grinder;
• drill or hammer drill.

To fix the door and fill in the gaps, you can use materials such as cement mortar, polyurethane foam. It is recommended to install hinged entrance steel structures in a specific order. First you need to choose a suitable door (unequal or equal-sex), then the doorway should be measured.

Then you should decide on the installation method (metal pins or anchor bolts). Prepare the opening for the installation of the structure, install the frame and door leaf.

First, set up the box using a level and wood stakes to make it straight. Secure the structure using anchor bolts. The depth is one and a half centimeters, no less. Lubricate the hinges and hang the door. Then close it and see if the structure is installed correctly.

Make sure the latches and locks work freely. Using polyurethane foam, fill in the gaps between the doorway and the frame. Treat the opening using plaster.

Chinese products that are suspiciously cheap are not worth buying. These doors are very easy to break. To do this, it does not even take significant efforts: attackers break into such structures using ordinary canning knives.

To obtain products of high quality, it is necessary to use special equipment. Some Russian and Chinese manufacturers are not focused on quality - the designs they create do not differ in durability.

It is recommended to stop the choice on steel structures in which there are no vertical mechanisms. Because of them, products freeze faster. With the help of additional stiffeners, the structure can be made more reliable, but additional steel sheets do not contribute to this.

When deciding which block for a metal door to buy, see if the stiffeners touch the inner and outer sides of the door. This will help prevent cold bridges. Condensation and ice will contribute to the appearance of rust, destruction of metal products.
