The choice of interior doors is a responsible and energy-intensive occupation. The desire to combine price, quality and design in one model is worth many hours of searching, comparison and doubt. It is still widely believed among consumers that the naturalness of materials is the key to the reliability and durability of the door. However, in conditions of high humidity and sudden temperature changes, a wooden door can deform and even crack. Versatile composite interior doors can help you avoid frustration and financial loss.

What is composite material?

A composite is a material obtained by combining substances with different properties. As a rule, this is a plastic base, the rigidity and strength of which is given by various fillers. For example, wood-polymer composite (WPC) is made from shredded wood (or rice husk) and connecting polymers.

The final product incorporates the best qualities of wood and plastic: durability, water resistance, natural appearance and even odor.

The ratio of the constituent elements will determine which features will prevail. A larger amount of wood flour brings the characteristics of WPC closer to natural wood, and with an increase in the percentage of polymer, the canvas looks like ordinary plastic.

Many WPC recipes are highly resistant to the influence of microorganisms and aggressive environments. Due to wood particles, most composites absorb a small amount of moisture, but without losing shape and strength. When dry, the original properties are restored. The composite material is easily processed: sawing, planing, drilling, it is environmentally friendly, fireproof and does not require special care.

Composite doors

The production of doors based on WPC is a new, but already demanded direction. Low cost is noted among the advantages of products of this type. A very important aspect when choosing. Composite structures are lightweight for easy replacement and installation. These doors have higher sound and heat insulation performance than wood doors. They are not afraid of temperature fluctuations, corrosion, atmospheric and biological influences.

Such doors are suitable for furnishing apartments, private houses, offices and other premises.

They can be of various shapes and sizes: single and double, with glass and panels. One of the popular brands in the composite products market is the Kapelli brand.

Features of the doors "Kapel"

The Capel factory is a project of the Intechplast plant. A series of technical doors were originally planned for offices, schools, hospitals and other commercial establishments. The test sample was first exhibited in 2011 at an exhibition in Moscow. The new product quickly gained popularity among consumers due to its characteristics and reasonable prices. And already in 2014, the market was replenished with new lines of composite doors.

The manufacturer highlights the following features of the products of this brand:

  • Moisture resistance... In the creation of doors, materials with high hydrophobicity are used. The end product does not allow steam to pass through, and water absorption is practically reduced to zero. This avoids deformation and wear, regardless of the room climate.

That is why “Kapel” doors are recommended for wet rooms: pools, bathrooms, saunas and baths.

  • Insulating properties are achieved with the help of an insulating material - expanded polystyrene. The cells in its structure ensure low conductivity of sound and heat. To enhance the insulating qualities, the perimeter of the door frame is laid with a rubber seal.
  • Fire safety. Doors "Kapel" have passed fire certification.
  • Easy to install. The products are very light, a canvas with parameters 0.9x2 m has a weight of 14.5 kg, and together with a box and platbands 21.5 kg. No special tools and accessories are required for installation. According to customer reviews, they had no problems with self-installation, thanks to the detailed instructions.
  • Environmental friendliness confirmed by a certificate of sanitary and epidemiological examination.
  • Durability. Wear-resistant material and light weight, even with active use, protects the structure from sagging and deformation.
  • Immunity to household chemicals. When creating the series, it was envisaged to use doors primarily in rooms where they are often cleaned with disinfectants.

Collections

Today you can find the following brand series:

Kapelli-Classic

This is the basic model. The Doorplast door leaf developed by the company is covered with a 1.5 mm heat-resistant PVC sheet. Internal stiffening ribs made of moisture-resistant LVL timber add strength to the structure. Filling - expanded polystyrene. This material consists of 0.1-0.2 mm bubbles, which have insulating properties. A PVC tape runs along the edge of the web.

The door leaf comes with a box, which can be classic or telescopic, to choose from. It is made from PVC by extrusion. The resulting substance has a more cellular structure and hard edges. The density is comparable to that of wood.

Doors "Kapel" do not have special requirements for fittings. The lightness of the design allows the use of overhead hinges for installation. Locks can be ordered in two types: magnetic and mechanical. All fittings are made in two colors: gold and chrome.

Kapelli-connect

The company's tsargovaya line. The rear door is a kind of constructor. Its frame is formed by three or more transverse strips (tsars) connecting the side posts. The space of the frame is filled with paneled filler and decorated with glass or aluminum inserts. All door elements are made of composite material and pasted over with an eco-veneer.

This decorative finish creates the visual and tactile effect of natural wood.

The modular device of the door makes it possible to easily replace its elements in case of damage. Connect series doors are equipped with telescopic moldings only.

Kapelli-Universal

A distinctive feature of the series is the telescopic box made of aluminum.

This design adds a number of advantages to those already available:

  • allows you to install the frame in an opening of any thickness;
  • the frame and the casing are equipped with a seal. This helps to hide the unevenness of the opening and eliminates the need for additional leveling work;
  • the platband does not need to be fixed, since it is a continuation of the door profile;
  • in the universal box canvases can be installed in any color scheme and with various types of finishes.

Kapelli-Ecoline

Another series of side doors. In contrast to Connect, the paneled filler is a sandwich of expanded polystyrene and PVC sheet.

Kapelli-Eco

These are completely smooth doors. A three-millimeter HDF sheet, a high-density fiberboard, is used as a coating. The material is new, but already appreciated in the furniture and construction industry due to the high density and uniformity of the boards. The vertical ends are fitted with an aluminum plate, and the horizontal ones are covered with PVC tape. Doors with HDF cladding are not 100% waterproof.

Kapelli fire fighting

Has a fire resistance limit of 30 minutes. The canvas and the box are made of wood and have a fire-resistant impregnation. The door is equipped with a cold smoke seal and heat-sealing tape.

Finishes and sizes

Doors "Kapel" are produced in white and monocolor, lamination with 3D and PVC foil is possible. Variants with glazed canvases are available, regardless of the type of decorative coating. The glazing area depends on the wishes of the customer, but cannot occupy more than 30% of the canvas.

You can choose the type of glass unit: transparent, white matte, reinforced.

The company produces all standard sizes from 60 to 90 cm. Custom-made custom sizes are practiced.

Reviews

Kapel composite doors are a good choice for any room. ...

The main advantage of this brand is water and vapor resistance, which makes them the best option for wet rooms.

The materials from which they are made are resistant to temperature extremes and aggressive substances such as chlorine. Doors have low thermal conductivity, they do not rust or peel, and do not crack.

Buyers note in reviews that doors are much stronger than conventional PVC counterparts. Moisture is not absorbed at all, but the door often fogs up in the bathroom. Noise insulation is not absolute, but moisture, odors and heat do not penetrate outside the room.

It should be noted that Intechplast is not the only manufacturer of waterproof doors. An analogue on the market is the Bravo factory with the Aqua series.
