Provence style flower vases

Provence style implies an abundance of decor and colors in the interior. These are not only prints, but also bouquets of fresh or dried flowers. That's why vases should be present as an integral part of the decor.

Provence – it is not just a corner of France at home, but a sophisticated, rustic chic. It is the elegance and harmony that distinguish Provence from rustic simplicity. Harmony in the details and pastel colors add a sense of serenity to the interior.

This style an abundance of decorative elements is inherent... Even small details create emphasis. This includes kitchen utensils, wooden furniture with a touch of antiquity, and various vintage decorations. But the main distinguishing feature is the presence of flowers - both live bouquets and prints. It can be garden flowers, wild herbs, lavender motives.

Vases give the interior a finished look. They not only serve as decoration, but also have practical applications. At the same time, not every one of them will organically fit into the interior, so it is important to choose vases for flowers that are suitable for this style. However, there are no strict restrictions either.

Vases can be tabletop and floor-standing, any size and shape... A variety of bouquets are welcomed in the interior: small neat bunches, single large flowers on a long stem, multilevel bouquets with the addition of ears and small flowers. The main thing that Provence does not like is abundance of greenery... The less foliage in the bouquets, the better.

The use of dishes as vases is encouraged. These can be cups, jugs and milk jugs, cans, trapezoidal pots, as well as simple glass jars and bottles. To liven up an object, you can decorate it with rope, lace, ribbons or simple strips of fabric, stick on buttons or other decorative elements.

Even ordinary twine wrapped around a can, turns it into an original decorative element. You can decorate cans and buckets with paints, depicting a floral print or nautical motifs, or use the decoupage technique.

Can act as a vase garden tools. A bouquet in a watering can, a metal basin or a bucket always looks original and involuntarily attracts the eye. The unsightly vase can be hidden in the basket, which will also add rustic charm.

Provence implies the use of only natural materials. Therefore, vases can be made of ceramics, glass, metal and even wood. There is no place in the interior for chrome and shiny surfaces, plastic and synthetics.

Pastel shades are preferred:

• white and milky;
• pink and blue;
• lavender and beige;
• gray and pale green.

These colors are in perfect harmony with each other. Bright spots are permissible only as separate accents, for example, it can be a bouquet of sunflowers... The interior itself should be harmonious and pacifying.

Provence loves floral prints, winemaking, agricultural and even marine motifs... Therefore, various images are permissible on vases, for example, flowers, animals, birds, scenes from the life of a French village, old prints, field herbs.

Are welcomed antique vases or containers, artificially aged. Provence is characterized by vintage decor, various abrasions and a network of small cracks on the vases.

For veranda decoration watering cans, buckets and various large containers are suitable. It is convenient to place whole armfuls of flowers in such products. Vases can be placed on the floor at the entrance or next to cupboards.

On the kitchen utensils look great, as well as small vases. If the bouquet is placed in a jug, it will draw attention to itself. Small bouquets look original in a teacup with a floral print or in a tall transparent glass. You can put ordinary glass jars on the window. Large flowers without leaves will look good in them.

In the living rooms it is better to use vases - both classic and unusual shapes. Colors can be very different - the main thing is that they are in harmony with other shades. You can also use original bottles for dried bouquets. Vases should be placed on a window, table or chest of drawers.

In the bedroom it is better to place white, light blue containers or with a small floral print. They look neutral and do not overload the interior. You can use several vases at the same time to create a whole composition... For example, place freshly cut flowers in jars or bottles of different heights and shapes.
