It is necessary to know the features of cutters for washing in order to clearly and correctly choose this device. There are versions for 35 mm tap holes in metal sinks and 32 mm, as well as other stainless steel sample cutters. And even the nuances of their application differ.

Description

Outwardly, the plumbing and home "sink" seem to be very simple things. Just a hole and then a pipe. But this opinion is erroneous - in fact, everything is more interesting there. An important role is played by such a device as a sink cutter.... In many cases, when buying a steel sink, you find that there is no hole provided. This is exactly the problem that the cutter solves.

It is used by furniture makers and repairmen. Such devices are sold in company stores, in Ikea-type chains and in online stores of goods for construction and repair. They often come in sets. A good cutter can punch a hole even in thick metal. Then a mixer can be installed in the resulting passage.

It is worth noting that a cutter for metal sinks made of stainless steel or cast iron is usually made on the basis of carbon steel. It is very important that the alloy is of high quality. Typically, the design includes:

  • a special plate;

  • cutter;

  • a bolt connecting them mechanically.

For normal operation with such a tool, you will need a typical wrench. Modern cutting devices:

  • comply with all RF and EU standards;

  • allow you to get smooth edges, eliminate the slightest roughness, even in a small area;

  • provide quick installation of the mixer;

  • form a hole with an ideal level of geometry.

What are they?

The main and almost the only difference between the versions (except those that are understandable only to professionals) is the section that the screw cutter has. Almost absolutely the domestic market is dominated by products supplied by the Taiwanese company KWB. It is about her that it is worth talking about. Taiwanese punches can have a working size of 22 mm.

In this case, their mass will be 0.289 kg, and in packed form the dimensions along the three axes will be equal:

  • 11;

  • 23;

  • 3.8 mm.

The cutter with a working dimension of 32 mm is also widely represented on the market. In this case, the typical parameters are as follows:

  • length - 18.3 cm;

  • width - 12.5 cm;

  • height - 4.5 cm;

  • weight - 330 grams.

Finally, there are also punch holes 35 mm for the mixer... Of course, these are the heaviest and most productive models. The weight can reach 340 grams. The length and width are 18.2 and 12.5 cm, respectively. The height of the product is 3.9 cm.

Application

Of course, it is far from enough to simply choose a cutter with a suitable working section size. You also need to be able to use it. First, you need to carefully try on the crane, starting from the diagram, instructions. In most cases, there is only one position in which he stands up confidently. However, this provision still needs to be found.

But even when it is found, immediately grabbing the cutter means that it is guaranteed to break it. The usual procedure:

  • a hole is prepared in the center of the circle using a center punch;

  • drill a passage in it with the minimum cobalt drill they can find;

  • then use an intermediate drill bit;

  • then the "main caliber" is used;

  • install the punch so that the wide element is at the bottom, and the knife part is located exactly at the location of the future mixer;

  • rotate the key, making a certain effort - here it is only important not to overdo it;

  • and in the end, it is just that a perfectly made hole is obtained - of course, if everything was done according to the scheme.
