How to make a TV shelf with your own hands?

In the modern design of each apartment, you can find shelves designed to accommodate souvenirs, photographs, books, and equipment. At the same time, wooden TV shelves look especially beautiful in living rooms. It is quite possible to make this piece of furniture on your own, for this it is enough to create an individual sketch and have the necessary tool and material at hand.

Today, there are many options for making stylish TV shelves made of natural stone, Bohemian crystal and mahogany. The most ergonomic and budgetary products are those made of chipboard or MDF. TV shelves made of plastic and drywall also look good. To independently make such a stylish piece of furniture, you will need the following tools:

• mounting kit (screws, anchors, dowels, brackets and corner);
• material for cutting;
• assembly knife;
• jigsaw, screwdriver and drill;
• tape measure;
• set of drills;
• marking tool (marker, pencil).

A do-it-yourself TV shelf has many advantages over finished products, since it can be made according to individual sketches, independently selecting sizes, shapes and designs. Before starting the workflow for assembling such a shelf, you need to decide on its location. This type of furniture is usually mounted on a wall. Such shelves will move along the rails, providing accessibility to equipment. As for the rotating models, it is recommended to make them additionally to other pieces of furniture to facilitate the location of the screen. Floor shelves are not much different from conventional TV stands, they are the easiest to manufacture.

When choosing the shape of the shelves, it is best to give square and rectangular models; designs with semicircular and curved shapes are rare. To increase the functionality of the shelf, it is necessary to supplement its design with several compartments. When creating a sketch of shelves for TV, it is also important to take into account the following nuances.

• It is advisable to install wide and large structures in the living room, since the TV in this room acts as the center of the interior. The choice of material, design of shelves also plays a huge role; wood products in warm shades are considered a good choice. In the bedroom, it is best to have hinged compact shelves made of plasterboard or chipboard. For children's rooms, you need to make original designs in bright colors.
• It will not hurt to decorate the finished shelf with decorative elements, this will give it chic. In the classic style, you need to use a bracket and complement the designs with glass inserts. The brackets can have both strict geometric patterns and floral patterns, the same applies to glass elements, they can be beautifully painted. Carving will also look unusual on wooden shelves; it is usually applied to the end in the form of various patterns. If there are metal inserts in the shelves, then you can engrave them, this will give the product an interesting look.
• Any TV shelf should be provided with good lighting, which will favorably highlight the corner under the appliances. As a rule, wooden structures are equipped with spot lighting, round small lamps are placed on the ceiling above the shelf in such a way that, when turned on, they highlight the cinema area in a special way and relieve the eyes from unnecessary stress. You can adjust the intensity of such lamps using a special switch.

The combination of a TV shelf with an LED strip will look good in a modern interior; it must be placed along the edges of the structure. In the dark, such a backlight will create a mysterious flicker, changing the intensity and color of the lighting.
