The Gefest hoods are manufactured by a Belarusian manufacturing company and have gained well-deserved popularity in the Russian market as high-quality devices that are notable for their low cost. According to customer reviews, the units have a reliable assembly, which directly affects their efficiency. At the same time, the production process itself does not imply the presence of expensive imported components, and the technical characteristics are minimal.

Peculiarities

First of all, Gefest hoods are distinguished from analogues by their affordable price. Most Russians can afford such devices. The average cost varies around $ 100. The appearance of the devices does not have any frills, it is distinguished by simplicity and elegance.

Most of the models are similar, the difference is a wide range of colors. This helps buyers choose a model that will suit each particular interior design. In addition, some of the hoods are equipped with not only a grease filter, but also a charcoal filter. This helps ensure air recirculation.

The devices do not have high power, the maximum area on which individual models will work effectively is 15 m2. For small spaces, there is a wider selection of products with slightly lower performance. The lamps that the hoods are equipped with are also not very bright, but they are quite capable of illuminating the hob.

Advantages and disadvantages

Among the advantages of Gefest hoods, in addition to the low price, consumers note ease of operation and maintenance. And also the range of models is quite wide, which allows you to choose a unit taking into account the individual needs and wishes of the buyer.

There are few disadvantages of the product, but nevertheless they should be taken into account. Quite often, and a large number of models, noisy work is noted, which can interfere with everyday life. The work performance is low, in addition, the hoods do not differ in rich functionality.

How to choose?

In addition to focusing on cost, performance and noise level, there are many more points to consider when choosing a hood for your kitchen. For example, this includes management. Modern models can be equipped with electronic, mechanical and touch controls. There is no significant difference, however, it must be borne in mind that models with mechanics have greater resistance to failures and power surges.

As for lighting, Gefest models use 2 types of lamps - halogen and incandescent. Incandescent lamps cannot guarantee natural color rendering, unlike halogen lamps, and also do not have very high brightness.

As for filters, they are divided into charcoal and grease filters. A fairly large number of Gefest hoods have both of these elements in the kit, which is an undoubted advantage.

The difference between the filters is as follows:

  • grease cleans the air from particles that rise with hot air, it is easy to clean and wash;
  • coal ones help to eliminate unnecessary odors, the air circulates during their use, returning to the room.

The lineup

Gefest hoods are available in a wide variety of models. They can have differences in color, the most popular are white, silver, black and brown, and also come with or without glass, with different types of filters. Both hanging and fireplace appliances are offered on the market. Let's consider the most in demand.

Gefest VO-1603 K12

This is one of the simplest models, domed and finished in silver. A modest and neat appearance allows you to integrate the hood into any kitchen without compromising the design of the room. The width of the working area is 60 centimeters. This is sufficient for standard 4-burner hobs.

With a low motor power of 135 W, the throughput is 600 m3 of air per 1 hour. Experts note that this power is only suitable for small rooms, a maximum of 10 m2. In addition, these hoods are quite noisy. Among the advantages of the device, it can be noted that it can both remove and recirculate air, this is ensured by the presence of a carbon filter. However, this filter needs to be replaced periodically, which will entail additional costs.

The hood has a mechanical control, while it can withstand voltage drops. It has 2 bright halogen lamps built into it. In addition, among the advantages can be noted the low price and ease of maintenance.

Gefest VO-11 K45

This built-in model is also a dome. It has an attractive appearance and at the same time has a low price. The unit is made in white, the body is made of metal. The width of the working area is 50 centimeters, so problems with the full coverage of the plate may arise, which will affect the effective operation of the device. The engine power is 110 W, the throughput is 310 m3 per hour, which means that the hood can be installed in rooms with an area of no more than 7 m2.

The device has a mechanical control and can withstand voltage drops. The model is equipped with a charcoal filter, which helps to get rid of unpleasant odors even without airing the kitchen. It has 2 bright halogen lamps built into it. In addition, the hood Gefest VO-11 K45 is extremely easy to care for and maintain. The main disadvantage is that the device is quite noisy.

Gefest VO-2601

This visor model has a white color and simple design. It has a charcoal filter, which is responsible for the air recirculation mode, while eliminating unnecessary odors in the kitchen. However, it should be borne in mind that such filters need to be changed quite often. It should be noted that the hood comes with special adapters. With their help, a corrugation is connected, which carries out air extraction.

The width of the working area is 60 centimeters, but the throughput is only 310 m3 per hour. This means that the use of such hoods in kitchens with an area of more than 7 m2 is undesirable. In addition, Gefest VO-2601, like the previous models, is distinguished by a rather noisy operation.

The control on the unit is mechanical, so the possibility of failures in its operation is minimal. The hood has 2 lamps that need to be changed periodically, as they burn out rather quickly. Among the advantages should be noted the low price of the device and ease of maintenance.

Gefest BB-2

It is a classic dome hood model. The design is quite simple, the body is made in white, which helps the unit not to be conspicuous when it is correctly installed. The working area is 50 centimeters wide, which is not suitable for every hob. The throughput of the unit is extremely small and amounts to only 180 m3 per hour. This means that such hoods can be installed in rooms no more than 6 m2 in order to ensure good quality of their work.

The model has button control, is resistant to voltage surges and is very easy to use. It works only in retraction mode, therefore it does not have a charcoal filter. The set also includes 2 incandescent lamps, which provide the hob with minimal illumination.

Among the advantages of the model are its low price, ease of maintenance and fairly quiet operation.

Gefest VO-1504

Like previous models, this hood is notable for its low cost on the market. It has a classic shape and is made in white, which allows the unit to be used in any room design. The working area is 50 centimeters. Due to the fact that the standard dimensions of the slab are 60 centimeters, this model is not suitable in all cases.

The throughput capacity is 600 m3 per hour, which will be enough for a room with an area of up to 10 m2. At the same time, the unit works quite loudly. It has 2 modes - recirculation and air extraction, which ensures the presence of a charcoal filter.

The hood is electronically controlled, which cannot maximally protect it from failures and voltage surges. In this case, only the fan speed can be adjusted. In addition, the model is easy to maintain.

How to install?

The installation process of Gefest kitchen hoods does not cause any difficulties, its progress depends on the wishes and capabilities of the buyer. You can invite specialists who will cope with this task in a short time and professionally, but you can also carry out the installation with your own hands, the main thing is to study the basic rules.

When no connection to the ventilation system is required, simply attach the hood to the wall. After that, filters are installed in the device. A prerequisite is the correct positioning of the device in the immediate vicinity of the ventilation duct. To carry out installation work, you yourself need to prepare a drill and a screwdriver. Auxiliary tools will be a tape measure, a level, a knife and a pencil.

First of all, it is necessary to calculate the height at which the hood will be installed. The height from the stove must be at least 75 centimeters, but it can be more, however, it must be borne in mind that the device must be more powerful.

First you need to make a markup, a level and a tape measure will help with this. A pencil marks the points of fastenings in which holes are made for fasteners, a corrugation is installed, which will provide an exhaust. Plastic pipes and ventilation ducts can be used. Tightening and sharp corners should be avoided.

The corrugation on one side is attached to the hood, and on the other to the ventilation with special clamps. After that, the device is connected to electricity. If the ventilation system is located far from the unit, a special extension cord may be required.
