Furniture selection

Original coffee tables are increasingly used by designers in the interior of different rooms. This is a versatile addition that will find its place in the living room, bedroom, and even on the balcony or kitchen. They can be used not only for interior decoration, but also in order to make the most of the free space.

Unusual tables are made from different materials and using different techniques. The appearance of this decorative furniture also differs. When choosing a table, first of all, pay attention to how high quality it is. If possible, it is better to inspect the surface of the furniture for defects and check how much weight the furniture can withstand. Another important point is the appearance of the product. The table should be in harmony with the rest of the interior details. If it sticks out of the overall composition, soon enough you will want to get it out of sight.

Most often, the table is selected in the same style in which the room is decorated. So, for example, in a room decorated in an Art Nouveau or loft style, a neat glass or metal table looks best. At the same time, you can play with contrasts and choose an unusual piece, for example, a vintage table with low curved legs. It looks unusual, but at the same time, it is quite organic.

Materials (edit)

An important role in choosing a table is played by what material it is made of. Let's take a look at a few popular materials that are used to create quality, modern coffee tables.

Glass

The most obvious option is glass. A table made of this material can be completely transparent or supplemented with a metal frame or wooden legs. This makes the design even more interesting. An obvious plus of a material such as glass is that it can be used to form tabletops of various shapes. Beautiful curves, curls, smooth shapes - designers try to embody the most unusual ideas in order to delight their clients. Brands like Gloria or Venus offer interesting options.

Thanks to their transparency, glass tables are practically invisible in the room. This means that the furniture practically does not take up extra space and makes the room visually less cluttered. These tables look good in living rooms, offices and other areas. Also, glass can be decorated in different ways. Most often, decorative tables are made of beautiful stained glass. Colored inserts either form an abstract picture or form some kind of simple print. Often simple glossy glass is complemented with matte inserts or smoky details.

Wooden

Another common material that designers use with might and main is wood. Various types of wood can be used for the construction of tables. High-quality beech, ash, or maple, for example, delight you not only with their strength, but also with their environmental friendliness and naturalness. Since natural wood is quite expensive, it is often replaced with cheaper materials such as MDF or chipboard. Not only a simple model with square or round tabletops is made from wood and its substitutes, but also products of an unusual shape.

Unusual design items

Special attention should be paid to creative tables, of an unusual shape or with a non-standard decor option. A couple of them should be considered.

With live greens

If you want to add freshness to the interior, then you can use a small coffee table that resembles a box of earth. To create it, a simple tabletop is used, in which a box with earth is mounted, in which living greens grow. It looks very stylish and beautiful, but such a product has many drawbacks. At a minimum, you will have to carefully look after it, watering the greenery and looking for the perfect place to place it. Such a table is more of a decorative addition to a room than a functional thing. It is recommended to install it where there is a lot of light, so that the grass grows actively, and the table only becomes more beautiful.

Greenhouses, balconies and verandas are considered ideal places to install such a table.

Forest miracle

Another interesting and more practical option is a piece with a wooden stump at the base. It can be created from a simple tree log, which is not particularly decorated. It is enough just to protect the base with a special coating that will extend its life, and fix the tabletop if necessary. Such a table looks very interesting and, despite its simplicity, does not make the interior cheap.

DIY table

You can also try creating a beautiful table yourself. To do this, it will be enough to take a simple box and paint it or decorate it using the decoupage technique. If you know how to work with wood, you can make a table by hand using boards, or glass remnants, for example. There are a lot of creative design solutions. Turn on your imagination, get inspired by interesting pictures, and you can create something unique to complement your interior.

Coffee tables can be placed in the living room, in the kitchen, or on the balcony. They can be both an independent addition to the interior and a functional detail that looks good next to an armchair or sofa. Choose a suitable option that looks really unusual, and use it to decorate the interior in any style.
