Washing machines with two drums are much less common than conventional models. But it is difficult to immediately say whether they are good or not - for this you need to carefully study the features of the system. You should also pay attention to the specifics and capabilities of popular models.

Design features

The creators of household appliances seem to be trying in every possible way to "surprise" consumers with their developments. The next result of these efforts was the emergence of washing machines with two drums. Earlier, such developments were presented by concerns from South Korea.

In the domestic market, most often dual-loading machines are represented by LG and Haier. Interestingly, both firms have branches in our country.

Advanced models of this kind:

  • equipped with touch screens;
  • have special counters that track work as efficiently as possible;
  • almost no noise.

But the main specificity is how their work is going. In conventional machines, washing is carried out sequentially, from one stage to another, and this sequence cannot be broken. But in double-drum models, you can use one compartment for washing one thing or a bookmark, regardless of another sector. The difference between these parts is usually due to the fact that they do not have the same capacity and performance. Experts believe that such a solution has very great prospects.

Principle of operation

A two-chamber washing machine, like a conventional one, has an engine that spins the drum. And even the fact that the drums are not 1, but 2 does not greatly affect the essence of the work. A heating element is installed in each of the compartments, which allows heating the water autonomously and eliminating dependence on heating in one compartment. A huge role is played by the control unit, which now almost always works on the basis of microcircuits and microchips. Without such a device, the washing machine either completely stops or begins to operate intermittently.

Automation receives information from special sensors. Most often, such sensors are provided:

  • pressure switch (monitoring the flow of water);
  • heating meter;
  • drain indicator;
  • tachometer;
  • thermometer.

Users can get the information you need through the display. Information about installed programs is also displayed there. In simpler washing machines, programmers are used, on which the current stage of the program is indicated by light indicators. Sound notification of events is sometimes used. Buttons and switches help to set the necessary parameters, and in advanced versions - touch screens.

In addition to the listed blocks, in a double-circuit washing machine there will definitely be:

  • drain and water inlet hoses;
  • appropriate pumps;
  • electrical cables that provide communication between parts of the device;
  • external door with a lock (located in the frontal plane or on top).

Advantages and disadvantages

Machines with 2 reels appeared relatively recently - they were first presented at the exhibition in 2015. But there are already a number of facts that make it possible to judge the advantages and disadvantages of such a technique. It provides an increased load volume compared to traditional models, and, importantly, it is guaranteed that two washes will be carried out at the same time. It becomes less hassle with sorting colored, black and white linen, sorting by type of fabric.One of the tanks is provided by default for voluminous, and the other for relatively small things.

If you only need to wash a small amount of things, this is also not a problem. A smaller drum can be loaded, thereby making the most of the machine, while also extending its overall life. Users note that modern two-chamber units perform their function very well. They will be able to remove even the most difficult stains in a short time. It is worth mentioning about saving water.

It is easy to understand that with such a combination of properties, the device with two compartments is perfect for large families.

The downsides are less obvious, but they are there too. So, controlling both drums from one board increases the risk - if it breaks down, it will be impossible to use the machine at all. If this is critical, it is better to buy two separate devices at once. To save space with the help of a two-chamber model, if it works out, then quite a bit; it is larger than two separate machines... Finally, the cost of such high-tech home appliances can come as an unpleasant surprise.

Lineup of popular manufacturers

  • An advanced model is a good example. Haier Duo. The upper bin holds 4 kg and the lower bin holds up to 8 kg of laundry. The machine is capable of spinning laundry at a speed of up to 1200 rpm. Hourly energy consumption reaches 2.1 kW. There are 13 operating modes in the upper tank, and 19 programs are already available when loading linen into the lower one.
  • Alternative - LG Twin Wash. The main tank fits inside the enclosure just like a conventional front-loaded machine. It holds up to 17 kg of linen, which is practically a record for household (non-professional) appliances. After each of the 12 processing modes, spinning is performed at a speed of up to 1000 rpm. Remote control using smartphones is provided. LG Twin Wash can disinfect things and refresh them with a stream of steam.
  • Another model from the same manufacturer - LG FH8G1MINI2... An inverter motor is installed inside. Wi-Fi control is provided. There is a foam control and a child protection system, the tank is made of plastic. The hatch diameter is 0.27 m; the machine spins the laundry at a speed of up to 800 rpm and, unfortunately, is not protected from leaks.

In the next video, you will find an overview of the Haier HWD120-B1558U double drum washing machine and dryer.
