A washing machine is an irreplaceable assistant in everyday life for any person. Just imagine how much time and effort you would spend on washing clothes, bed linen, etc. In this article we will talk about the "Wave", its features, as well as the intricacies of operation and self-repair.

Peculiarities

The Volna washing machine is considered an outdated model, since its production was launched back in 1959. But at the same time, it is still in demand, since it has several undoubted advantages:

  • structural reliability;
  • high quality of the parts used in the assembly;
  • affordability;
  • good performance of cleaning any fabrics when washing;
  • ease of use.

Of course, there are also disadvantages:

  • only two washing modes: normal and gentle;
  • lack of additional functions.

    "Wave" refers to a semi-automatic type of electric washing machines. Its internal structure is very simple. Basically, it consists of a washing tank, a centrifuge and an electric motor.

    The container for washing clothes is made of an anti-corrosion alloy (stainless steel). This favorably distinguishes these samples (as, indeed, all Soviet models) from most modern models, in which washing tanks are made of plastic, because metal parts are stronger and more durable than plastic ones.

    To prevent clogging of the insides of the machine, a fine mesh is provided at the bottom, which acts as a filter.

    Model overview

    There are two models on the market: Volna-M and Volna-2M. For clarity, their technical characteristics are shown in the table.

    As can be seen from the data presented, the two models differ little from each other. Naturally, the later "Volna-2M" is considered better, because the designers managed to optimize the weight and dimensions of the unit without losing quality.

    How to start?

    The startup process is very simple. First you need connect the machine to the power supply by inserting the plug into the socket.

    Next step - selection of the washing mode. As mentioned above, “Wave” has 2 modes: direct (normal) and reverse (gentle). Select the desired position depending on the type of fabric. Load the laundry (one item at a time!) Into the tub and add the detergent.

    Then you need set wash timeby turning the timer lever by the desired number of divisions. That's all. After the expiration of the period you specified, the machine will automatically stop.

    DIY repair

    As with any appliance, this washing machine can have problems. Most often, you can eliminate them yourself, without calling repairmen. The instruction manual will greatly help you with this, which describes the main malfunctions, the causes of their occurrence and the methods of correction.

    It happens like this: you lost the user manual or did not receive it for some reason when buying it from hand ... In this case you should read the brief summary below.

    As a rule, the main problem arising during the operation of Volna brand washing machines is failure of an electric motor, the heart of any technology. Or, as an option, strong overheating during operation. The product control panel or power cord may also be damaged.

    The last option is the easiest to repair - you just need to replace the old cable with a new one.

    In the other two cases described above, you need to act in a specific sequence of steps.

    • Before disassembling the unit, you must disconnect it from the power supply. Next, dismantle the machine by unscrewing all the mounting bolts. Disassemble the device into its constituent elements: tank, motor, centrifuge, control panel. Ring all wires with a tester. If there is no response somewhere, then there was a breakage in this place.
    • If the engine is faulty, the easiest way is to replace it with a similar one by connecting it according to the electrical circuit. If you think you can get the motor repaired, give it a try. It is not so easy to find an outdated AOLG-22-4S on the market.
    • If, when starting the engine, it starts to get very hot, check the bearings - perhaps the reason is their wear. Replace them if so. Also, the cause of overheating can be a decrease in the distance between the rotor and the stator, as a result of which they begin to touch each other. There is another option - an increased capacity of the starting electric capacitor. Test the operation of the motor in the case of a disconnected capacitor - if there is no overheating, the reason is in it. It is necessary to reduce the capacity of this element.

    If the problem is eliminated, connect the motor and assemble the washing machine. Check its operation at idle speed, without loading the laundry. Everything is fine? Feel free to wash.
