LG washing machine does not drain water: causes and remedies

LG washing machines are renowned for their reliability and durability, however, even the highest quality household appliances can break down at the most inopportune moment. Most faults can be dealt with independently by returning the functionality to the automatic machine. First you need to figure out the possible reasons that caused the problems at work. There are several of them.

1. Software crashes. Modern LG washing machines are "stuffed" with electronics, and it is sometimes "capricious". The appliance may stop during the rinse phase before spinning. As a result, the machine will stop working and water will remain in the drum.
2. Clogged filter... This problem occurs quite often. A coin can get stuck in the filter, it is often clogged with small debris, hair. In such situations, the waste water remains in the tank, since it cannot enter the sewer system.
3. Clogged or kinked drain hose. Not only the filter element, but also the hose can become clogged with dirt. In this case, as in the above paragraph, the waste liquid will not be able to leave and will remain in the tank. Kinks in the hose will also obstruct the flow of water.
4. Breakdown of the pump. It happens that this internal unit burns out due to a clogged impeller. As a result, the rotation of the part becomes difficult, which leads to its malfunction.
5. Breakdown of the pressure switch or water level sensor. If this part breaks, the pump will not receive a signal that the drum is full of water, as a result of which the waste liquid will remain at the same level.

If the spin does not work, the reason may lie in the breakdown of the electronic control board... Microcircuits can fail due to voltage surges, lightning strikes, moisture penetration into internal electronic components, user failure to comply with the prescribed operating rules. Before you start disassembling the machine and checking its internal components, it is necessary to exclude a common problem - a mode failure. There are several ways to forcefully drain the water from the washing machine. First of all, you need to unplug the machine from the outlet to avoid electric shock.

To drain the liquid, pull the drain hose out of the sewer and lower it into a shallow container - the waste water will come out by gravity.In addition, you can use the emergency drain hose (provided on most LG CMA models). These machines have a special pipe for emergency draining of water. It is located near the drain filter. To drain the water, you need to pull out the tube and open the plug. The main disadvantage of this method is the length of the procedure. The emergency pipe has a small diameter, due to which the waste liquid will be drained for a long time.

You can drain the water through the drain pipe. To do this, turn the unit around with the back side, dismantle the back cover and find the pipe. After that, the clamps are unclenched, and water should flow from the branch pipe.

You can remove the liquid by simply opening the hatch.... If the liquid level is above the lower edge of the door, tilt the unit back. In this situation, the help of a second person is required. After that, you need to open the lid and scoop out the water using a bucket or mug. This method is not convenient - it is long and it is unlikely that it will be possible to draw out absolutely all the water.

If the automatic machine has stopped draining the water, you need to act from “simple to complex”. If restarting the unit did not help, you should look for the problem inside the equipment. First of all it is worth checking the drain hose for blockages and kinks. To do this, it must be disconnected from the machine, inspected and, if necessary, purged.

If everything is in order with the hose, you need to see if is the filter working... It is often clogged with small debris, preventing the liquid from leaving the tank to the sewer through the hose. In most LG machine models, the drain filter is located on the lower right side. To check whether it is clogged or not, you need to open the cover, unscrew the filter element, clean it and reinstall it.

Next you need check the pump... In rare cases, the pump can be restored, more often it has to be replaced with a new part. To get to the pump, you need to disassemble the machine, unscrew the pump and disassemble it into 2 parts. It is important to carefully examine the impeller - it cannot be used to wind up fabric or hair. If there is no contamination inside the device, you need to check the operation of the pump using a multimeter. In this case, the measuring equipment is set to the resistance test mode. With values ​​"0" and "1", the part must be replaced with a similar one.

If it's not about the pump, you need check the water level sensor. To do this, you need to remove the top cover from the machine. In the upper right corner next to the control panel there will be a device with a pressure switch. You need to disconnect the wires from it, remove the hose.
