Split systems Zerten: pros and cons, model range, choice, operation
Summer is in full swing, so it's pretty hot outside now. To avoid overheating, people use air conditioners and split systems. Now we will look at the models of one domestic manufacturer - Zerten.
Information about the company
Zerten is a Russian company that produces some types of HVAC equipment. All products are divided into two categories, namely: water heaters and air conditioners (split systems).
Manufacturing is located in China. This allows us to make the technology technologically advanced and at the same time cheap. The company itself is part of the Forte holding, which also manufactures various equipment through other companies.
The company was founded in 2013. Despite the fact that not so much time has passed since its foundation, the delivery of products is carried out in almost all regions.
Zerten also offers discounts for wholesalers and has over 500 service centers throughout the country.
The lineup
All split systems are wall-mounted.
The ZT-7 is a very simple and even primitive model. It does not have special functions, but it has quite interesting characteristics: the cooling and heating area is 20 sq. m., and the noise level of the outdoor unit during operation is 32 dB, the cooling capacity is 2.05 kW, and the heating capacity is 2.2 kW.
This unit is more aimed at warming, since these parameters are better.
The advantages are low price, multiple operating modes, filter for deodorization, protection against failures in the power supply system, light weight, compactness and adjustable fan speed.
The ZT-9 is a more powerful model than the previous one. Speaking about the characteristics, we can note the cooling power of 2.6 kW, and the heating power of 2.8 kW. Extended characteristics allow servicing premises with an area of up to 26 sq. m.
There are also functions for changing modes, deodorizing and protecting against network surges.
An advantage over other models can be called a good ratio of weight and power, because the mass of the indoor unit is 6.5 kg, and the external unit is 24 kg.
ZT-12 is a unit with increased power. If you want to provide warmth or coolness to a fairly large room, then this technique is suitable for you. The cooling area is 35 sq. m., productivity with a decrease in temperature - 3.5 kW, and with an increase - 3.6 kW.
Among the disadvantages can be noted the greater weight and significant noise level during operation compared to previous models. The number of functions is about the same as the 7th and 9th models of the ZT line.
ZT-18 - large and powerful model, which, in addition to standard functions, has additional ones. Among them is the Sleep mode, which will make the air a little more humid at night. The warranty is valid for 3 years, so there is no doubt about the quality of this unit.
Of the characteristics - 5.2 and 5.4 kW of power during the cooling and heating mode, respectively, 52 sq. m of cultivated area and 44 kg of total weight.
Due to the large footprint, the ZT-18 can be installed in shops and small booths.
ZT-24 - the most powerful and largest in terms of dimensions, a model from the ZT line. Power of 7 and 7.1 kW will allow this unit to work for a long time and at the same time dry, cool or heat a large area. The heating area is 70 sq. m., which makes it possible to use this system in cottages and industrial premises.
The disadvantages include a lot of weight. The external unit weighs about 10 kg and the external unit weighs 48 kg.This mass makes installation and operation more difficult. Thanks to its high power, the ZT-24 has advanced functions. Among them: a high-speed microprocessor, a cooling system with environmentally friendly freon, a remote control with special functions and a wave screen filter.
Due to the cost of this unit, the filter has better quality replaceable elements than other models in this series, so the quality of air purification from microbes and various dust is higher. The control panel has more modes related to switching the fan power.
The next line is called BL. It differs from the ZT in that more emphasis is placed on cooling rather than heating the environment. The functions are roughly similar, and the characteristics are similar in every metric.
The formation of the name takes place in the same way. First comes Zerten BL-7, then BL-9, BL-12, BL-18 and BL-24. The characteristics from the initial to the last model change in the same way as that of the ZT. The first types have low power, small processing area, light weight, compactness and only basic functions. In the subsequent ones, power, work area, efficiency, weight increase, the units become less compact. Together with the power, the price also increases.
Exploitation
When working with split systems, you need to adhere to the standard rules. In order for the device to work without problems and can serve you for a long time, you need to take care of it. Like any climate technology, split systems collect large amounts of dust. The casing of the unit must be wiped with a dry cloth when the unit is turned off.
Do not allow dirt, water and small parts to enter the case. If something turns out to be in the device, then it will need to be removed without fail. If water is poured into the air conditioner, it can cause a short circuit. In this case, it is better to contact a qualified technician. This manufacturer has over five hundred service centers, so there should be no problems with the search.
Zerten products are distinguished by the fact that all products have a self-diagnostic function, and in the event of a malfunction, the device will give you an error code. It can be used to understand why a technique is defective. A list of these errors can be found in the operating instructions.
Each model is equipped with a control panel. With it, you can switch modes, set the direction of air for heating or cooling, use turbo mode and enable or disable the timer.
Advantages and disadvantages
Common advantages are high temperature efficiency, good build quality, ease of installation, low price and high-quality cooling even over large areas.
Among the shortcomings, high power consumption is noted. This is because the models do not have an inverter drive, which saves consumption. They also pay attention to unpleasant sounds and vibration if installed incorrectly, and mention a short power cord.
