The tool is very important both in everyday life and in workshops. If there is a lot of it, even special cases and suitcases do not always help out. But a trolley on wheels for the tool can help.

Peculiarities

To make a tool trolley, you will have to correctly assess the dimensions of the future structure and draw up its drawings. Without drawing up drawings, there is almost no point in getting to work. The fact is that the slightest mistake can lead to serious consequences. And also it should be borne in mind that such a mobile device with a tool can only be manufactured by a person who has the skills to work with welding... For installation, metal sheets with a thickness of 1 or 2 mm are mainly used - this depends on the size of the product and the number of tools required by the master for his work profile.

The trolley is a metal cabinet with several drawers and a work table, which also serves as the top cover of the cabinet. Tool boxes are cut from sheet metal of the same (or different) size.

When marking, it is necessary to take into account the sides (side walls of future boxes), which are obtained by bending the edges of the metal sheets cut for the manufacture of boxes. The height of the sides is determined in advance - before marking the parts.

Usually two to four boxes are prepared. More of them are unlikely to be needed.

At the very beginning of work, you also need to decide how many blanks of shaped pipes and furniture guides will be needed for them. Retaining handles are usually provided on the sides of the tool trolley casing and are positioned at the top of the tool cabinet. They are needed for the convenience of moving the cart. The wheels are arranged on the lower frame of the device.

How to make it yourself?

To get a good homemade design, the following material is needed:

  • self-tapping screws for metal processing;

  • steel corners;

  • nuts and bolts;

  • Sheet steel;

  • legs for support.

First of all, you need to take 4 corners and make their connection with self-tapping screws. You should get something like a regular window frame. Then another block of the same type is made. The resulting frames need to be pulled together using vertical elements - the same corners cut to the size of the drawing of the future product.

To increase rigidity, replace the screws with bolts and nuts.

When making a mobile trolley for tools, it is necessary to cover the device with a "table top" on which it will be convenient to work. For this, sheet metal 3-4 mm thick is well suited. Then 4 legs on wheels are prepared or selected ready-made.

These components need to be tried on first to make sure everything is correct. If the design turns out as intended, you can immediately weld the legs by semi-automatic welding.

Judging by the reviews, this design works stably and does not collapse even under heavy load. For work, you can also use:

  • old pieces of metal;

  • cutting pipes;

  • unnecessary corners.

Additional Information

A homemade cart, even when you factor in the cost of sleds and other necessary components, is less expensive than store-bought models. In addition, it can be perfectly tailored to the needs of a particular person. In most cases, metal and wood are used to make carts. The number of wheels may vary.Depending on personal preference, designs with 1, 2 or 3 wheels are used.

In some cases, it is useful to use platforms that are placed on four wheels. As for materials, it makes sense to use wood only for the lightest and most occasionally used structures. When it is known in advance that heavy loads are to be transported, all-metal trolleys will have to be preferred. If, nevertheless, it is decided to use a tree, you must:

  • take boards with dimensions of 7x7 cm;

  • assemble the frame with screws;

  • use additional details for strengthening;

  • attach the slats from the bottom;

  • put a steel handle (it can be made from bicycle handlebars or powerful steel rods);

  • mount boards from boards (selecting their size in accordance with the capacity of the trolley).

Consideration should be given to strengthening the frame and the stability of the wheel attachment.

Attention: boards with bearings can be replaced with moped axles.

Four-wheeled carts can only be made of metal. Their carrying capacity reaches 100 kg. In addition to preparing ordinary locksmith tools, special calculations must be made.

In order for a four-wheeled vehicle to transport heavy loads without unnecessary noise, it should be “shod” with pneumatic tires. But folding transport devices must be counted on for a carrying capacity of at least 50 kg. They are compact. To do this, use:

  • pieces of pipes with a wall thickness of 2 mm;

  • hinge bushings;

  • platform frames (the last two parts are welded to each other).

Important: every seam must be cleaned and polished.

As for one-wheeled carts, the opinion of experienced craftsmen is one: it is best to use wood. The optimal workpiece for the cargo capacity is a timber 120 cm long. The frame and the cargo area are connected with screws. This completes the production.

To carry heavy tools on a one-wheel tool wheelbarrow, you need to make it out of steel. It is recommended to take a high-quality durable sheet with a thickness of 2 mm or more. The handle and chassis are welded onto the platform. The main cargo part can be made using an iron barrel. You can put wheels on the cart:

  • from a cargo bike;

  • from a scooter;

  • from a moped;

  • from a motorcycle.

Powder paints are usually used to paint the structure.. The specific color is selected individually. When choosing and installing a handle, you must focus solely on your own convenience. Open carts are needed to move relatively light items. Products with additional boxes are more suitable for transporting heavy and bulky tools.
