Chaise longue - a bed, designed for one person, is used for a comfortable stay in the country, in the garden, on the terrace, by the pool, by the sea. This piece of furniture must be durable and impervious to moisture. Artificial rattan fully meets the assigned tasks, and natural material is more capricious, requires a special attitude towards itself. Any rattan product looks light and airy thanks to the openwork weaving.

  • Chaise lounges with backrest transformation. The product combines two parts, the upper part of which lends itself to height adjustment. It has 3 to 5 slots to raise or lower the backrest.
  • Portable design. Consists of 3 parts. In addition to the backrest, the height of the legs is regulated. The product can be easily stored and transported folded.
  • Model with mechanism adjustment. The adjustment allows you to transform the chaise longue without getting up from the bed. To do this, you just need to use the lever located under the armrest.
  • Duchess Breeze. This type of lounger is divided into 2 autonomous parts, one of which is a chair, and the other is a side stool for positioning the legs.

    Materials (edit)

    Not only artificial or natural rattan are involved in the creation of a sun lounger. To increase the strength, the frame is made of aluminum, which allows the structure to withstand a lot of weight. Rattan of any kind makes the design stylish, sophisticated, elegant, but the technical characteristics of the materials differ significantly.

    Natural rattan

    It is made from raw materials of calamus (palm-lianas), which grows in Southeast Asia. Most often, the plant can be found in Indonesia and the Philippines, where everything that can be weaved from lianas reaching 300 meters: from kitchen utensils to furniture and even houses. Natural rattan is highly prized:

    • for the naturalness, safety and environmental friendliness of the material;
    • for the refinement and beauty of finished products;
    • for the variety of types of weaving and the ability to choose shades;
    • for lightness, strength and durability with proper care;

    This lounger can withstand a weight of up to 120 kg.

    The negative aspects include:

    • moisture sensitivity;
    • instability to frost;
    • fear of exposure to ultraviolet radiation;
    • color instability at high temperatures.

    Artificial rattan

    This material is produced on the basis of polymers and rubber. For weaving, instead of vines, ribbons of different lengths and widths are used. Products made from them are distinguished by an abundance of colors and structures. Positive criteria include the following:

    • the composition of artificial rattan is safe, does not have harmful impurities;
    • tolerates moisture well, so you can relax on a sun lounger wet, immediately leaving the pool;
    • withstands frost;
    • not sensitive to ultraviolet light;
    • withstands loads from 300 to 400 kg;
    • unpretentious in care;
    • is much cheaper than natural material.

    Manufacturers

    The whole world knows rattan furniture from suppliers from Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The sun loungers of these countries are light and beautiful, but better products are produced in countries far from Southeast Asia, for example, in Germany, Spain, Italy. Their products are varied and have almost no seams.

    Often Dutch sunbeds are delivered to European markets. Azzura, Swedish Kwa, Brafab, Ikea... Domestic company Rammus Since 1999, it has started production of artificial rattan furniture based on German raw materials, but since 2004 it has switched to its own high-quality products - eco-rattan.

    How to care?

    Caring for rattan products is quite simple - periodically you should rinse the chaise longue with warm soapy water and scrub the dirt from the grooves with a soft bristled brush, and then be sure to dry it. Artificial rattan product can be soaked or shower used, such actions are not carried out with natural material.
