For domestic needs, a tape measure with a length of 3 m measuring web is enough.This length is quite enough for measuring various objects in everyday life - the height and width of the entrance doors, the height of the cabinets, etc. When carrying out more serious construction work, you may need a tape measure length of 5 m, 10 m or even 15 m.

Of course, the selection of the length of the measuring web will depend on the object being measured. More sophisticated measuring instruments are used on large construction sites and in various industrial facilities. Their length can be up to 50 m.
