A vacuum cleaner is an irreplaceable assistant in the daily work of a housewife. Today this technique is not a luxury, it is often bought. Before buying, it is important to understand the models and choose the right one. Different containers act as dust collectors for vacuum cleaners.

Peculiarities

Bag vacuum cleaners have been leading the market for years. The price of the models is cheaper, and the bags for the vacuum cleaner have advantages:

  • they provide free air flows;
  • cheaper in cost compared to the price of a container;
  • add power to vacuum cleaners that are ergonomic.

In addition to advantages, vacuum cleaner bags have negative qualities:

  • pass fine dust;
  • reusable products will not only have to be shaken out, but also washed;
  • dust from the bag in any case gets on the hands, and often in the respiratory tract.

The selection of products presented as accessories for vacuum cleaners is very diverse. The line is presented in abundance, it can be of various purposes and configurations. It is sometimes difficult to choose the right attribute, but in any case, it must cope with the accumulating dirt, not clog up ahead of time, and be durable. Insufficient density of bags becomes the reason for clogging of the filtration system of the vacuum cleaner itself. In practice, this leads to premature failure of the unit.... Especially if the system is not promptly cleaned of accumulated dust.

To exclude premature clogging of filters, you need to pay attention to the material of manufacture of the bag for the vacuum cleaner.

Another important criterion is the thickness of the dust container. Capacity is of no small importance. And also it should fit snugly and fit well.

Different materials are used to make a dust container.

  • Paper. This is usually a good quality filter base with high strength. But such bags are often torn by sharp debris.
  • Synthetics. These bags are usually made of polymer fibers. Their filtering transmission feature is better. The material is not torn by cutting objects caught inside the device.
  • Synthetic fiber paper bags - an intermediate modern version that corresponds to the quality characteristics of both previous versions.

It is believed that bags cannot be cheap, as these are low-quality specimens.

They will often break, often cause engine overheating, and clog the filtration system. Products can be reusable or disposable.

Varieties

In addition to disposable and reusable, models can be universal. They help in solving the problem of replacing the dust collector in a comprehensive manner. Not all firms produce only original products. There are manufacturers who produce bag options that fit different vacuum cleaners. And also such dust-collecting bags are chosen for very old devices, when it is no longer possible to pick up replacement bags of the desired sample.

The bags often differ in the size of the mountings, the differences in the cartridges inside the machine, and the size of the hose hole.

Universal vacuum cleaner bags feature specialized attachments. Such bags can be used for vacuum cleaners of different brands. It happens that bags for more expensive devices can be replaced with suitable items of low cost. For example, Siemens packages are suitable for the brands Bosch, Karcher and Scarlett.

Disposable

These packages are also called removable packages.They have higher filtration characteristics, and better hypoallergenicity. These products not only trap dust, but also trap bacteria and pathogens. Large volumes of bags allow you to look inside the vacuum cleaner body less often. Complete tightness extends the performance of the external filter. Replacement products are marketed as exceptionally durable, they tolerate contact with wet litter particles.

Reusable

Non-woven or other synthetic fabric is used for these bags. The durability of these bags is higher due to moisture resistant impregnation. Bags do not deform from contact with sharp cutting objects. Inside, you can easily collect debris and fine dust. These bags are considered economical to use as they only require periodic cleaning. After several knocks out, they begin to hold on to dust poorly.

If the vacuum cleaner has a poor filtration system, fine dust will return with reverse air flows. If the vacuum cleaner is rarely used, an unpleasant odor will come from these bags over time.

Sometimes there is an active activity of microorganisms. Reusable bags fit into many vacuum cleaner models. Thus, manufacturers provide a choice. Disposable dust bags can be purchased independently. Often, the reusable option is offered as a spare when it is not possible to pick up the necessary original kits.

Models and their characteristics

Manufacturer and price are important when choosing models. These parameters affect the operation of the vacuum cleaner and the quality of cleaning surfaces. The price is strongly related to the material from which the bags are made. Fabric synthetic products are more popular than paper products. Such packages are produced by different companies.

Selection Tips

Any bag - fabric or paper - is a garbage collection device. It is filled with collected debris along with air masses. It is precisely because of the air currents that the container is most often permeable: otherwise, the garbage bags would immediately burst when the first air masses arrived. The permeability of any waste bags, disposable or reusable, drops as they fill. Air currents waste their power due to the appearance of obstacles that must be overcome.

There is no need to choose bulky spare bags as filling them will reduce the power of your vacuum cleaner.

If the vacuum cleaner is originally equipped with a paper-type dust collector and HEPA filters, you should not replace the product with a reusable one: such a replacement is fraught with the appearance of harmful organisms. If your unit, equipped with a HEPA filter, works with a reusable bag, the organisms accumulated inside will spread throughout the room: the synthetic bag and filter will not trap harmful particles.

If the model in a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter is reusable, it is recommended to wash it after each use. However, even in this case, reusable bags will not be 100% clean. Over time, your vacuum cleaner can cause an unpleasant odor to spread due to mold and damp build-up inside.

So that buying a bag does not turn out to be a thoughtless and wasteful waste of money, pay attention to the following points:

  • the filtration quality is better in multilayer products;
  • the volume of the bag is individual and is selected depending on the characteristics of the vacuum cleaner;
  • the product must match your vacuum cleaner model.

It is estimated that the average lifespan of a typical replacement waste bag is about 6 weeks. Bags for German Bosch vacuum cleaners are distinguished by their increased density. They are made of dense non-woven material, which allows you to collect construction waste: wood chips, concrete particles, sharp objects. Even the glass inside such a bag is not capable of violating its integrity.

The products are positioned as antibacterial, so the cost of the items is quite high.

Models LD, Zelmer, Samsung are considered inexpensive products. The models have quality certificates, are equipped with filtration systems, which are suitable for cleaning residential premises. Samsung has been presenting its products for over 20 years. The cost of products varies from $ 5 to $ 10. You can even find options for old models of vacuum cleaners. Philips recommends its products as being as easy to use as possible. Even the manufacturer's reusable models provide reliable dust protection. The cost of the bags is quite affordable.

How to use?

If the vacuum cleaner is operated with a filled bag of any type, it will overheat, leading to equipment failure. Many people try to save money by using disposable bags for as long as possible, but this leads to bad consequences. Do not use disposable paper bags multiple times. Do not follow the advice that the product can be gently shaken out by cutting the edge and then secured with tape or a stapler. The bottom seam can break during the next filling step, inside the vacuum cleaner there will be debris that gets into the filtration system.

The filled disposable bag is best removed and replaced with a new one.

Prepare the paper bag before placing it inside the machine. Gently press in any paper debris around the entire circumference of the inlet. They should be in the middle of the package. Place the bag in the desired compartment of your machine. Track the filling of the bag in accordance with its maximum capacity: they are no more than 3⁄4 of the total volume.

When the dust bin is almost empty, the vacuum cleaner sometimes loses power for the following reasons:

  • clogged pipe, nozzle or hose;
  • clogging and the need to replace the external filter;
  • Cleaning up debris (such as stucco dust) may cause a drop in power due to clogged pores in the dust container: clogged micropores reduce the suction power.

The device with paper bags cannot be used:

  • when cleaning flammable and explosive substances;
  • hot ash, sharp nails;
  • water or other liquids.

All manufacturers prohibit the reuse of paper dust bags. The filter base can allow air to pass through to a certain point. The filtering qualities of a re-installed bag deteriorate, which can lead to damage to household appliances. If you want to save money, it is better to choose synthetic products. Although they are more expensive, they are allowed for multiple use. Even if expensive bags are offered for your vacuum cleaner model, you can always find suitable universal products of good quality, but cheaper in price.

Although reusable bags can be cleaned, they reduce the suction power of the vacuum cleaner over time.

If the performance of the technique has deteriorated significantly, you can correct the situation by cleaning the device itself. It is necessary to rinse the filters that are in front of the motor inside the compartment, as well as the filter from the back of the device, which stands in the way of the exit of air masses. Parts are usually made of foam rubber or synthetic, therefore they are perfectly rinsed under running water. Heavily contaminated spare parts can be washed in soapy water with ordinary powder. Then they need to be rinsed, dried and replaced.

HEPA filters will require rare attention. Theoretically, they can only be replaced with new ones, but to save money, a gentle flushing of this spare part is allowed. The fine air filter must never be washed or cleaned with a brush.

It is allowed to rinse in a bowl with warm soapy water or under a running stream from the tap.
