Decorating and furnishing a work area in an office, even at home, you cannot limit yourself only to buying a computer. For all the importance of electronic communications, they cannot replace the still traditional printing of documents. Therefore, it is very important to know how to choose the correct A4 laser printer.

Peculiarities

Before understanding the nuances of specific models, it is necessary to point out the main feature of laser printing. It is more difficult than applying images with miniature paint drops. This makes the device itself more expensive. However, ultimately laser printing will be more profitable because each individual print is cheaper. In addition to saving on consumables, it is worth noting the increased overall performance; the bar for paper requirements is going down.

Laser prints are highly durable. Even if a small amount of moisture gets on them for a short time, the image will not blur. However, the disadvantage is that inkjet technology is better suited for printing photographs, drawings and other graphic images.

Even the best A4 laser printers are not yet able to reproduce all color nuances and variations properly. Attention should be paid to the features of A4 paper.

It is suitable for the vast majority of everyday tasks such as:

  • printing of documents;

  • preparation of personal letters;

  • preparation of letters to official business institutions;

  • output of pictures and photos;

  • printing of educational, scientific works;

  • printing of manuscripts given to publishers (and this is not a complete list - only the main applications).

Of course, the size of the printer is of great importance. You can print A4 sheets even on a relatively small device. But if there is free space and enough money, it is advised to purchase a larger device. The larger the size, the higher is usually the performance and functionality of the technique. It is also worth pointing out that laser printers are more suitable for black and white than color printing; a decent color model is always expensive.

When people talk about printing on an endless form, they mean obtaining a significant amount of printed materials of very high quality. Ribbon paper feed ensures fast printing and virtually no paper jams. A must-have feature is a serious sheet stacking device.

The combination results in an excellent commercial model. For home, they usually take a simple black and white printer with a sheet-fed image output system.

Model rating

Deservedly popular HP LaserJet Pro P1102w... Such a printer is really compact - its dimensions are 0.35x0.196x0.238 m. The printing speed is very high. The control mode is provided from phones or laptops. Therefore, there is no special need to stretch wires everywhere.

Technical specifications:

  • processor with a clock speed of 0.5 GHz;

  • built-in memory - 8 MB;

  • output up to 18 black and white pages per minute;

  • the ability to work with paper with a density of up to 0.12 kg per 1 sq. m .;

  • color printing is not provided;

  • output tray - up to 100 pages;

  • print options for labels and glossy paper.

Alternatively, you can consider Brother HL-1112R... This is also a black and white printer, even more profitable than its predecessor. The designers have provided a print resolution of up to 2400x600 dots. Despite the relatively low resource of the cartridge, printing is economical. Output speed is 20 pages per minute, waiting for the first page out will take less than 10 seconds.

Other parameters:

  • compliance with the parameters of the EnergyStar standard;

  • the ability to print on plain and recycled paper;

  • MacOS X support (starting from version 10.6.8.).

Pantum P2207 is able to display up to 15 thousand pages in 30 days. A full cartridge is enough to print 1600 sheets. Within 60 seconds, 20-22 sheets are printed with the highest resolution up to 1200 dpi. The 0.6 GHz processor and 64 MB of RAM successfully solve the main problems. In addition to ordinary sheets, you can print on an envelope or on film, but it will take a long time to wait for the first page.

Canon i-SENSYS LBP6030B will print up to 18 sheets per minute. Supports USB media connection. The print resolution can reach 2400x600 dots. The weaker version supports 600x600 resolution, which is quite enough for document output. Exiting sleep mode takes only 8 seconds - this is exactly how long it will take to prepare one print.

Selection criteria

As already stated, the main point when choosing a laser printer is its purpose. Most people should stick with the cheapest black and white models. It is no less important, however, what kind of performance the device develops. The seconds saved at home are just as important as in a reputable office or publishing house. However, with a strong budget limitation, you can get by with a low-power printer - this will not affect the quality of prints anyway.

It is necessary to pay attention to the legibility of the prints. 600x600 pixels are quite enough for document output. But graphs, drawings, photographs are better for printing with a higher resolution. Another useful property is the presence of wireless interfaces; they will make your work more mobile.

Important: you need to think about whether you are going to print on envelopes, on transparencies, on other non-standard media. And, of course, design considerations cannot be ignored, that is, whether the printer will fit into the interior or not.
