Gas stoves and electric stoves came into our life quite a long time ago and have become indispensable helpers in the kitchen. It would seem that there is nothing to modernize and invent, but manufacturers are meeting buyers halfway, creating all new configurations and features that make life easier.

Types of gas stoves

Gas stoves, depending on the material from which they are made, are of the following types.

  • Enameled. This is the oldest look, quite durable, easy to care for, and washes well. However, on impact, it can deform, which happens extremely rarely.
  • Stainless. Beautiful, shine, decorating the kitchen with their presence. They are easy enough to wash. Just remember about special care products for such surfaces.

They are very scratched, and for a great look they must be carefully rubbed like glass.

  • Glass-ceramic. A relatively new type of coating. They heat up very quickly compared to cast iron "pancakes". It should be washed only after complete cooling and with gentle means. But thanks to the flat and smooth surface, cleaning is much faster.
  • Made of aluminum alloy. The newest developments. Such plates look beautiful, but they are very afraid of impacts and washing with abrasives. It remains to be seen how long they will last in production.

Also slabs can be divided into freestanding and built-in. Built-in allows you to place the oven separately from the hob and make the kitchen more complete. Freestanding is easier to move when changing furniture and is much less likely to break.

It is possible to divide the stoves by the types of energy they use, into gas, electric and combined (or combined). Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. And you need to choose based on the size of the room in which it is going to be placed, and the number of people for whom it is supposed to cook food on it.

Combination cooker convenience

The combined gas stove is not entirely new. There are many variations under this name. The surface can be gas and the oven can be electric. Or the surface can be both gas and electric, and the oven, as a rule, is only electric. Such plates are also called electro-gas.

Now let's take a closer look at a slab with a mixed surface: configuration and connection.

Having such a stove, you don't have to worry if, for some reason, one of the energy sources disappears for a while.

Electric ovens undoubtedly have a huge advantage over gas ovens. In them, you can regulate the inclusion of the upper and lower heating element, connect convection. However, cooking in them is more expensive, since ovens are powerful enough and take longer to heat up than gas ovens.

The ratio of gas and electric burners can be different. It can be either 2: 2 or 3: 1. There are also wide hobs for 6 different burners and in different configurations. The width of such stoves can be standard - 50 cm, maybe 60 cm and even 90, if we are talking about a six-burner gas appliance.

Electric burners can be either cast iron or glass-ceramic. They take a long time to heat up and take time to cool down if you need to lower the temperature and heating power. But they are very convenient for simmering food, and electricity does not burn oxygen, unlike gas.

In our world, where the light periodically disappears, then the gas is shut off, it is very important to have such a stove. No one will go hungry. We have developed such plates, taking into account the wishes of customers. In housing where there is only bottled gas, such a stove will be simply salvation. It was for such consumers that mixed models were originally made.

Combined ovens

Modern cookers usually come with electric ovens. In turn, ovens are equipped with convection, which allows you to cook food faster and more evenly, avoiding burning. Convection mode is present in almost all modern ovens.

Also, when choosing ovens, you should take into account that most of them have a self-cleaning function. To turn on this mode, you need a special detergent for ovens, which is poured into a special compartment. Then you just need to turn on the oven for a few minutes according to the instructions. And after cooling down, wash off the remaining detergent and dirt from the surface with water. There will be no more friction and anguish for many hours. It is worth asking the seller if the model you have chosen has this feature.

With it, you will save a lot of time and fully appreciate modern technologies and developments.

Embedded or standalone?

You need to choose between a built-in stove and a free-standing one at the same time as buying furniture in the kitchen.

Built-in, of course, is convenient and very beautiful. Any kitchen will be made more modern. You can also save space in the kitchen with it, since the oven can be built in almost anywhere in the kitchen. A designer or manufacturer of kitchen furniture will help you with the choice of a specific location.

Free-standing slabs break less often, move more conveniently, more familiar to the look. And that's probably all.

Installation and connection

In order to correctly install and then connect an electric gas stove, you need to fulfill a number of conditions.

Mixed stoves, whatever one may say, will have to be connected according to all the rules - with calling the gas service, registering the stove and connecting it to the gas by authorized workers.

The built-in one must first be placed in the furniture, check the operability of its electrical part and only then connect the hob in the same way as a separate stove. That is, with the call of the gas service workers and the fulfillment of the necessary formalities.

Combination boards overview

If you look at the rating of slabs with a combined surface, then the Belarusian company is the leader in the Russian market. GEFEST. This company has long won its well-deserved place among consumers due to the price and quality. Modern models are equipped with a self-cleaning function, a timer, a gas off mode in the event of a fire extinguishing on a burner, convection and many other useful characteristics.

Well-known brands such as INDESIT, ARISTON, BOSCH, ARDO. They are much more expensive. But they are brought from Europe, their name is known all over the world. Although they have all the same functions as the Belarusian GEFEST. Some models may differ more favorably due to the design.

Also, the trade mark of Poland has firmly entered our market - HANSA. It is not inferior to the quality of its more expensive European counterparts, but is cheaper. It was originally a German company.

Maintenance and repair

Modern technology is made from the latest materials, which, if used correctly, will not malfunction soon.

According to the current GOSTs, it is indicated that the service life of household gas appliances, to which the stove belongs, is up to 20 years. On average, this period is 10-14 years.

The warranty period is set by the manufacturer and the seller, usually 1-2 years.

Within 10-14 years, the manufacturer produces spare parts for the devices sold after the end of their production, so there should be no problems with replacing the necessary elements.

It should be remembered that correct and timely care will extend the life of your home appliances. When cooking and washing, you should be especially careful with places where there are electronics - a timer, buttons. You should also avoid flooding the burners, electric ignition. After all, the electric ignition function may deteriorate, and you will have to call the master. And if the sensor deteriorates, which turns off the gas supply when the fire is extinguished, repairs will cost much more.
