Earphones are recognized as one of the most vulnerable devices and often need urgent replacement. In this case, the main reason for failure is their improper storage. You can treat this as an inevitable fact or acquire special devices that will help minimize the risk of damage or breakage... To solve the problem, it is necessary to choose the correct case in terms of size, functionality and quality.

Peculiarities

Currently, you can find a huge number of headphone cases in retail stores or on the Internet. It is the cases with all-round protection, and not all kinds of holders and organizers, that are the most reliable. There are people who consider cases to be optional and use them as unnecessary fuss. In addition, their purchase will have to spend time and money.

Of course, folding the headphones will take some time, but this quickly becomes a habit and is done literally automatically. Other undeniable benefits include the following.

  • Headphones in a case are more convenient to carry - when folded, they require little space and fit in small bags or even pockets.
  • The case is easier to find among other things, it will take less time to remove. When placed neatly, you don't have to waste time untangling wires.
  • The cover has a protective function. In it, the headphones break less often and get dirty less. The most advanced models will protect not only from dust, but also from water, as well as mechanical damage, and soften shocks.
  • You can find a model for every taste and wallet. For those who love fashion accessories, the purchase will be an opportunity to delight themselves and stand out.

Since there are many types of headphones, there are plenty of cases for storing them. There are both universal models and those designed for specific devices. For full-size on-ear headphones you need a bulky case, while foldable ones can be more compact. However, most often they take with them plug-in or in-ear (so-called earbuds or plugs), which when folded take up very little space.

At the same time, do not forget about a relatively new variety - wireless headphones (for example, AirPods). The standard charging case they come with is not very pleasant to the touch, scratches easily and looks boring due to the fact that it comes in one color.

All these shortcomings can be easily compensated for with a cover that is worn on top and performs an additional protective function.

Varieties

First of all covers differ in their device - it can be either a simple case or a complex design with internal pockets and compartments (for example, for ear pads). For wired headphones, it is important that the wire not only fits inside the case, but also has a special holder, since this is the part that breaks most often. Covers can be:

  • rigid - retain their shape thanks to a dense frame or inserts;
  • soft - less reliably protect the headphones hidden inside.

Covers are also fastened in different ways.... Most often, zippers, buttons and magnets are used for this, less often - clips in the form of latches or Velcro. Models for wireless headphones do not have a clasp, since both parts are pulled tightly over the case and have a movable connection at the back.

For the manufacture of the frame of hard covers, denser materials are usually taken - this can be plastic or even aluminum... For decoration, textiles, rubber, artificial leather are used. Combinations of materials like these make the cases durable, but beautiful at the same time. Of the more modern options, one can single out silicone and polyurethane - they provide the necessary protection, bend, have a low weight and a wide color palette.

There are completely different headphone cases available:

  • in shape - rectangular, round and semicircular;
  • with different types of opening - in the form of handbags, wallets, cases, pencil cases and flips;
  • transparent and colored;
  • smooth and embossed;
  • matte and glossy;
  • with inscriptions, drawings, in the form of famous characters or animals.

Thus, you can pick up covers of various styles - from simple and concise to informal and unusual. Bright models are liked not only by children, but also by adults - they raise the mood and serve as a kind of decoration. In this case, you can pick up covers for all gadgets in the same style.

The design, material and performance of the cover determine its purpose:

  • for carrying and storage;
  • shockproof (keep the integrity of the headphones in the event of a fall, impact or crush);
  • waterproof (protect against accidental water droplets) and waterproof (sealed, provide protection not only from liquids, but also small dust particles).

One of the latest cool features of the modern headphone case is rechargeable without cable (due to the coil in the rear wall). Compact cases for convenience are equipped with carabiners, rings and laces. These and other mounts allow you to secure your headphones to a bag or belt to protect them from the risk of theft or loss.

How to choose?

It is very easy to get confused in the variety of covers and their characteristics. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to evaluate the products in question according to several criteria at once and opt for their optimal combination.

  • Degree of protection... To begin with, you should evaluate the situations in which gadgets fall in the lifestyle of a particular person. Absolutely all headphones and expensive cases need protection from scratches and minor damage. A rigid frame, plugs or a sealed case will be a definite plus, although they will cost more.
  • Convenience... A refined case with new features, clever design and additional compartments will no doubt be more useful than a simple model. For carrying in a pocket, a non-slip surface of the product is suitable, a streamlined shape with a simple fastener, any case can be placed in a bag.
  • Appearance... The wide range allows you to find a specific color, shape or material. Not all of them are practical, but like any accessory, a case should be a pleasure to use.
  • The size... If the case is not intended for a specific type of headphones, it is better to take your device to the store so as not to be mistaken in the size. The case should not squeeze the headphones, allow the wires to be twisted too sharply, or be difficult to close. Conversely, in a bulky case without internal retainers, the contents can dangle, which means there is a risk of damage.
  • Price... Covers are produced in different countries - for example, on a regular website, in the description of different models, you can find manufacturers from Korea, China, Russia, Germany and many others.

However, domestic or European production is not always a guarantee of quality, as well as a brand. Quite budget models made at a Chinese plant can practically not be inferior to them.

        Unfortunately, not all products can withstand standard operating conditions. Even if the cover seems reliable and attractive, it can lose its look and feel. Careful handling will prolong the lifespan, but the very the purpose provides protection in various situations and without frequent replacement... Therefore, when choosing, in addition to the above characteristics, it will not be superfluous to study the reviews about a particular product and take them into account.
