Particularly interesting is the black tiles, which are used in a solo interior or in an ensemble with tiles of a different color.

Advantages and disadvantages

Mosaic tiles have enough advantages, because in their properties they are similar to ceramic tiles, which are extremely popular among apartment owners.

If we dwell on its merits, then these are:

  • strength;
  • reliability;
  • durability;
  • moisture resistance;
  • not susceptible to temperature changes;
  • does not fade or fade;
  • available in a wide variety of colors.

    There are two main disadvantages of mosaic tiles:

    • high cost of material and installation;
    • long-term installation due to meticulous work.

    If, despite the prospect of long-term laying of expensive tiles, the owner of the apartment decides on this experiment, then the result will be worth the money and time spent.

    Peculiarities

    An interesting solution in the interior can be a black mosaic. The main areas where mosaics are laid most often are the bathroom and the kitchen. This can be explained by the functional properties of the tile, because it copes well with the repulsion of moisture and calmly withstands heat.

    The mosaic can consist of square or round elements - chips. Round mosaic panels look even more original due to the unusual texture and combination of elements.

    To date, both glossy and matte mosaic tiles are produced.

    Material for it can be:

    • Natural stone - most often it is granite and marble. Used for floor finishing. If you take onyx or jasper, then you can work on the wall. Refers to expensive materials.
    • Pottery is an inexpensive and popular option. One of the pluses is the huge palette of colors.
    • Glass is the easiest material to care for. It has excellent moisture resistant qualities, resistant to temperature extremes.
    • Metal is a rarely used but attractive material. Its susceptibility to corrosion does not allow it to be used in the bathroom and in the kitchen.
    • Wood. Only certain types of wood can be used. Necessarily requires antifungal treatment.

    Interior options

    You can make the layout pure black, or you can take other colors for contrast or shading of black. For example, black and white classics are often used to decorate the bathroom, which gives the room chic, style and respectability. Most often, this combination is used on the floor, then the walls and ceiling are left in one color. You can play with black and white tiles not only in the bathroom, but also in the kitchen, if it is designed in the appropriate colors, or in the living room, if a similar condition is met. In the kitchen, both an apron and a floor can be lined with black mosaic, although this is an expensive undertaking.

    In addition to the contrast of colors, you can also play on the contrast of textures: glossy and matte. This will give you even more opportunities to create unique combinations.

    Black mosaic tiles are beautiful not only in combination with white ones. It is a very stylish renovation material that instantly draws attention to itself. Colored tiles can also add bright accents to it - this approach is best used in small quantities so that the accents do not turn into a checkerboard.

    A black mosaic, accentuated by silver or gold, which can be either interspersed on chips or independent elements interspersed with black, looks extremely elegant. As with the use of colored accents, it is best not to overuse precious metals. The design of the room will look very stylish if the golden accents overlap with other “golden” décor details. For example, if it is a kitchen, then a black mosaic apron with drops of gold will ideally match with gold headset handles or chair legs.

    The ombre effect will look no less original: from black tiles through shades of gray, flowing into white.

    If there is a desire to add light to the room, then it is better to decorate it in white. Then the black tile added in fragments will soften the monochrome.

      If you want to add mystery, then the room should be trimmed in black, and white or any other mosaic elements will emphasize the mystery.
