Today, many household or construction operations involve the gluing of several elements. There are several types of universal compounds on the market that are designed to work with different materials. Particular attention should be paid to aerosol adhesives. These mixtures are gaining more and more popularity, since it is much easier to work with them, and the effect is practically not inferior to the use of classical formulations.

Peculiarities

Technically, aerosol contact adhesive consists of the same components as classic liquid formulations. It differs only in that it comes in the form of a spray that can be easily sprayed onto a specific surface. Products of this kind are used very often today. This is due to the fact that the aerosol penetrates well even into the most remote corners, filling them and forming a strong bond. The material is produced in small cans of various sizes.

Types and scope of application

  • Compositions for paper and textile materials. Such mixtures allow substances to be fixed only for a certain time. After some time, the two bonded parts are easy to detach. At the same time, no aerosol traces remain on the inner surface.
  • Adhesive for foil and films. Mounting mortars are used for permanent bonding of such substances. The aerosol evaporates completely at the application site.
  • Compounds for gluing polyethylene and other polymers to metals and wood. Among the positive characteristics of these aerosols, one can single out a high setting coefficient.

Depending on the purpose and environment of use, aerosol adhesives can be divided into several subspecies.

  • Rubber glue. Such products are made on a rubber basis, which allows you to obtain high-quality fixation of the product. At the same time, the composition does not destroy the structure of the rubber, and also does not contribute to its cracking or drying out.
  • Spray for plastics and metals.
  • Mixes for joining various types of carpet materials (carpet, etc.).
  • Universal adhesive. These products are used for bonding several types of materials (3M and other brands). But it should be understood that more specialized formulations are often better than universal counterparts.

The scope of application of aerosol glue is very wide.

  • Furniture manufacturing. Here, with the help of such glue, wood elements are fixed to each other. They can also be used for sheathing wood with various types of fabrics or plastic elements.
  • Construction works. The glue is used for interior decoration (medical institutions, offices, etc.). Quickly adheres to various materials for an almost instant effect.
  • Advertising production. In this area, adhesives are in demand that are capable of working both with plastic and various polymers. With their help, rather complex curly decorative designs are created.
  • Textile industry and the field of obtaining a variety of man-made fiber materials.
  • Automotive industry. Today, it is in this industry that aerosols are used very often. Here, with the help of adhesives, almost all the decoration is attached, as well as plastic elements. This allows you to completely eliminate double-sided tape, which does not always hold the parts quite well. Also, these substances are very often used in the repair of cars (interior trim, vibration isolation fastening, etc.).

Many formulations are supplemented with special hardeners that improve adhesion and drying speed.

Manufacturers

The modern market is saturated with various types of aerosol adhesives. Among all this variety, several popular brands should be distinguished.

  • Multi Spray. Universal glue made in England. It can be used for bonding many materials, from metal products to veneered surfaces. The formulations are well suited for both temporary and permanent fixation. Manufacturers claim that this aerosol can even glue brick, plastic and cement, as well as asbestos substances.
  • Abro. The glue is especially popular in the USA. But today many people use it here too. The aerosol can is supplemented with a special nozzle, with which you can apply it in very thin layers. Several types of aerosols are produced under this brand: from universal to specialized. But you need to use it only strictly according to the instructions indicated on the package, since some compounds are very aggressive and can damage the surface.
  • Scotch Weld. The most famous aerosols of this brand are 75 3M and 77 3M. They are used in print shops where lightweight materials need to be temporarily bonded. Among the positive qualities are high transparency and good adhesion rates.
  • Tuskbond. Adhesive for various fabric materials. It can be used to glue Alcantara, Carpet, leather, flock, velor and much more. Today it is very often used when working with car dealerships.
  • Done Deal. Universal adhesive based on propane, butane and synthetic rubber. Used for bonding genuine leather, rubber, glass, fabrics and more. Today it is very often used in the decoration or repair of car interiors.
  • Presto. Another one of the representatives of universal aerosols. Among the advantages, one can single out the presence of a special dispenser, which simplifies the work with these substances.
  • Penosil. This type of glue is something in between an aerosol and polyurethane foam. It is used as an anchor for insulating panels to facades or foundations. Very often it is used in the arrangement of thermal insulation.

There are many other types of aerosols (888, etc.), which also showed themselves well when working with various substances.

Advice

Aerosol glue consists of various aggressive substances, which contribute to the adhesion of various materials.

When using it, you should follow a few simple rules.

  • Before spraying, the can must be shaken to obtain a uniform composition.
  • Spraying should be carried out at a distance of 20-40 cm from the main surface. In this case, it is important to direct the jet in such a way that it covers the material as much as possible without falling on external objects.
  • It is advisable to store cylinders in a dry room, but not at elevated temperatures.
  • Although the glue is often odorless, you still need to work with it only in protective clothing, which will prevent the mixture from getting on the skin and inside the body.
  • Bonding of certain materials is best done with special compounds. If you create decorative patterns, then it is advisable to apply the glue only using the stencils intended for this.

Please note that if the aerosol has expired, then it can fix for some time. But it is advisable to check their quality characteristics before using such products.

Aerosol adhesive is a unique product, allowing you to get a reliable adhesion between different substances. The correct use of the formulations solves many complex problems that are not so easy to accomplish with the help of liquid analogs.
