The Russian brand Afalina has been producing high-quality children's mattresses since 2003. For 14 years of its existence, it has been able to take an active position in its segment, releasing models with orthopedic and anatomical effects for newborns and preschool children.

The peculiarities and popularity of Afalina mattresses among buyers are in a number of differences from analogues in their segment, in quality and practical characteristics.

Peculiarities

The mattresses of the domestic company are distinguished by quality, time-tested and small users. They are manufactured using the latest technologies on equipment from leading companies in the world. The brand cares about its good name, producing high-quality products from the best materials.

Afalina mattresses:

  • are certified goods that meet quality standards and hygiene standards (maintain a skin-friendly microclimate);
  • have a large model range, allowing parents to choose the most convenient in shape and volume option, taking into account their own preferences and available budget;
  • take into account all the wishes of the client, carried out in a classical and preventive way in order to properly support the baby's spine and the necessary formation of its bends;
  • are made of environmentally friendly and harmless materials that do not emit toxins, therefore they are suitable for babies with allergies and asthma;
  • quiet and safe to use (do not wake up the baby when changing the position);
  • differ in permissible weight load and have different block heights;
  • are made of modern filler of natural and artificial origin, resistant to deformation;
  • have a long service life with correct and careful operation (up to 10 years or more);
  • packed in a textile "breathable" quilted jacquard cover with a toning effect, antistatic and antibacterial impregnation, therefore they are resistant to the formation of fungus, mold, decay;
  • there are one-sided and two-sided types, differing in varying degrees of rigidity or warmth of the surface of each side, evenly distributing the weight load over the entire body and relieving muscle tension;
  • for convenience, they have separate names for each model and a detailed description, including the composition of the block, characteristics of each layer, dimensions, photos, detailed instructions on the rules of operation;
  • are made with Microcapsuletech technology, which functions exclusively when heated from the child's body, emitting an aroma that has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the nervous system, relieving the baby of stress and excessive excitability;

Depending on the cost of the components and their volume, mattresses differ in different prices, so you can always choose an option to your taste and wallet.

With a lot of advantages, Afalina mattresses have several disadvantages:

  • most models do not have a removable cover (important for the care of the block surface);
  • in structures of the dependent type, they do not provide the necessary support for the spine and, due to the large diameter of the springs, do not have sufficient rigidity;
  • do not have a well-pronounced orthopedic effect in models with springs;
  • have a magnetic effect on the baby, which can be accompanied by dizziness, general fatigue, whims (accumulate static electricity);
  • do not have bright colors of the cover, due to which the already impractical textile needs a mattress topper or an additional cover with a zipper (the brand adheres to an all-stitched production technology and believes that a removable cover during washing and removal leads to a loss of quality and deformation of the block).

Views

Afalina mattresses are of two types: on a spring (on average 256 pcs. Per sq. M.) And a springless base with reinforced perimeter in systems with a metal core. The company develops models taking into account the peculiarities of the child's development, offering different block structures, supplementing it with layers of elastic padding to vary the degree of rigidity of the mat.

The assortment without springs consists of monolithic and composite models. A single filler - a rarity for blocks of the brand, it is latex foam with an average height of 12 cm, packed in a quilted pouch.

At the heart of each combined block there is a base (a dense layer of the main packing), supplemented at the edges with packing of a different composition. It is mainly latex or polyurethane foam, the number of layers is from two to four. The construction method of such mats is divided into symmetrical and asymmetric, when the core is supplemented with a packing of different composition and thickness on both sides.

Spring block

The uniqueness of the models of the independent type of the brand lies in the correct support of the baby's spine. Thanks to the "pocket" system of the springs placement, when the weight load is applied, only those elements that are under pressure are included in the work. This is the main difference between such models and analogs of the dependent type, in which, despite the different elastic addition of the top and bottom, in addition to the working springs, nearby ones are involved, due to which they have wave formation, but there is no uniform distribution of the load on the baby's body.

Considering the number of springs, it is worth noting that its level means a soft type of surface, large diameter and height. Even when supplemented with latex or coconut coir, such a block will not have a well-pronounced orthopedic effect, such as in the Micropacket and Multipacket systems, in which the number of springs is from 600 pcs. per sq. m. The only exception to the line are mattresses with a removable cover (Symphony "Comfort"), made on the basis of dependent springs. They have quite bright cotton textiles with funny patterns for children.

Filling

The padding of Afalina mattresses is modern and durable. Most of the models in the line are created by:

  • dependent springs - metal mesh "Bonnel";
  • independent springs - "pocket" springs, individually packed in textile covers, attached to the lower surface of the frame;
  • coconut fiber - a product of coconut wool processing, which has excellent ventilation, rigidity, resistance to odor absorption;
  • natural latex - Processed Hevea rubber tree extract with a porous structure and high elasticity;
  • profiled latex foam - latex-based material with a relaxing, massage effect, designed for maximum comfort during sleep and muscle strengthening;
  • polyurethane foam class HR - synthetic latex with a high shock-absorbing effect and excellent elasticity, fine porosity of the structure;
  • holofiber - material made of polyester fibers with a three-dimensional structure and vertical arrangement of individual spring elements;
  • thermal felt - mattress insulation used in winter-summer constructions, providing the necessary microclimate under the child's body, excluding overheating or coolness.

The uniqueness of the fillers lies in their excellent compatibility with each other. They complement each other, improving the quality and performance of the mattresses. In addition, the padding protects the child from springs, often laying in two or three layers on top of the steel elements.

Dimensions (edit)

The parameters of the Afalina children's mattress are different.The manufacturing factory offers three dimensions for each model, indicating not only the length, width, but also the height of the mattress in centimeters (for example, 120x60x12, 125x65x12 cm). Due to the slight difference, they can be matched as accurately as possible to different models of small cribs.

In general, the dimensions of the models look like this: 120x60x8, 120x60x11, 125x65x11, 120x60x14, 125x65x14, 120x60x15, 125x65x15, 120x60x16, 125x65x16 (two sizes change the height indicator). Less often, a third is added to two sizes: 140x70 and 14 cm high.

Reviews

Afalina mattresses have a different, generally positive user assessment. Buyers, whose children sleep on brand mats, note the benefits of domestic blocks. We do not regret the choice, - the caring parents write in the comments, - the factory's mattresses are excellent, orthopedic, keep warm well, combine environmental friendliness and an affordable price.

Parents especially note bilateral options with varying degrees of rigidity of the sides and the "summer-winter" model, in which the baby is provided with the necessary warmth in the cold season and freshness in the summer. In addition to practical characteristics, buyers, zealously and carefully choosing mattresses for their beloved children, note the quality of the mattress itself and its optimal width.

The brand's mattresses are chic, comfortable, easily turn over to the other side if necessary, - the buyers write in the reviews, - they are elastic, anti-allergenic and healthy.
