Experts most often suggest making the kitchen space in an emphatically traditional style. But this approach on the part of designers is not always justified, because sometimes it does not correspond to the general concept of a home. If tenants need something completely opposite to the traditional room, then it is worth choosing the high-tech style.

Style Description

It is possible to analyze for a long time those features that are usually declared characteristic of ultramodern stylistics. They are often called an abundance of metal, clear lines, simplicity and brevity, and so on. But in fact, all these are only derivatives of the main motive that pervades the entire room. The fundamental factor in creating a high-tech kitchen is always maximum productivity. and rational use of every square centimeter. It is because of this consideration that the maximum emphasis is placed on saturating the room with technology.

The criterion of practicality also dominates in the selection of materials that fit into the Hi-Tech design. It actively uses not only metal, but also glass, plastic elements. Every detail should seem as new and relevant as possible, the slightest shades of old-fashionedness are unacceptable. Some exceptions are only design experiments. But behind each such experiment is many years of experience and a carefully thought-out concept, so you should not risk it when you design it yourself.

Color spectrum

The main parameters of the kitchen design and the preferred materials also determine the dominant color. In an emphatically modern room, lush and pretentious tones, motley multicolor will look bad. But the silvery, emphatically cold and even slightly “icy” shades will harmoniously fit into such a composition. In addition to silver paint, options such as are popular:

  • metallic;

  • black tone of different saturation;
  • dark blue shades.

Sometimes other tones are also used, but the monotonous coloring of furniture and walls will always be an indispensable requirement. If bright blotches are used, then only in the singular. But light, including beige, sandy-yellow surfaces can occupy a fairly large area.

A time-tested solution that has been used in ultra-modern interiors for decades is black and white contrast. It can be used in a variety of ways and combinations. However, a common feature will always be a clear border between the white and black areas. Optionally, you can separate them with inclusions of a completely different tone. In general, the choice of colors in the high-tech interior is much wider than it might seem. It is undesirable for a gray surface to occupy more than 10% of the total area, since the abundance of this color will deprive the room of expressiveness.

Room decoration

But no matter how important the color aspects of apartment decoration seem, they play only a subordinate role. A good door or a well-chosen wardrobe, a good-looking table, or incompatible decorative objects are what draws attention to themselves in the first place. Contrary to popular stereotype, in high-tech style it is not enough to arrange more technique and use cold colors.Skillful design, as in other styles, implies a lot of nuances and subtleties. It's time to disassemble them thoroughly.

Window

The windows themselves in any room, including the kitchen, are most often made of PVC or metal-plastic. Wooden structures, even the most elite ones, are extremely poorly combined with the spirit of hi-tech. Differences from more traditional styles extend to curtains as well. The main requirements when choosing them are:

  • minimalist design;

  • strict geometry;

  • exclusion of any prints;
  • "Metallic" and other cold colors.

In most cases, high-tech curtains resemble a square or rectangle. The specifics of the kitchen are also taken into account. That is, use a cloth soaked in mixtures:

  • repellent dust particles;

  • increasing resistance to ultraviolet light;

  • providing fire resistance;

  • supporting protection from dangerous microflora.

There are many ways to meet these requirements. Both vertical and horizontal and roller curtains are used. Most of the high-tech canvases are straight cut and have eyelets. As for the color, monochrome coloring prevails.

In the interiors of kitchens, stylized as wheelhouses of spaceships, curtains decorated with plates or metallic threads look very good.

Natural fabrics that create curvy folds are best avoided. It is more correct to use fabrics with an emphasized metallic or polyethylene texture. Instead of full-fledged familiar curtains, you can also use blinds. Distinguished by their practicality and functionality, they will be quite acceptable in a modern home. It is advisable to prefer aluminum blinds to plastic slats.

Walls

For all the importance of windows in a modern kitchen, the decoration of the walls cannot be ignored. As with other surfaces, there is a clear requirement: the dominance of cool colors. It should give the impression of traveling into outer space or visiting a laboratory. In general, such places where a person is as close as possible to pushing boundaries, to expanding his own capabilities to the limit. High-tech style will look optimal only in large kitchens; in a small area, he will not reveal his aesthetic merits.

Household appliances and electronics suspended or placed in niches are welcome. You can even make an expressive emphasis on it. As for the coating, everything is simpler than it seems - even economy-class finishing materials will help solve design problems. Among the wallpapers, preference should be given to vinyl rolls with a non-woven backing. Along with the external appeal and compliance with the general concept, such material turns out to be practical, which is extremely important in a life loaded with worries and troubles.

But the usual 100% non-woven wallpaper is unacceptable. The fact is that they will bring notes of warmth, comfort, motives of naturalness - and this is hardly suitable for imitating the premises of a starship. Plastic finishing structures are a completely different matter, you can resort to them completely calmly. A variety of combinations are acceptable, including design ones. Here are just still lifes, romance and complacent home scenes, all kinds of images of the set table should be avoided.

But you can also prefer metallic wallpaper. This option has recently become the most popular among connoisseurs of futuristic design. Even the high cost of such a coating turns out to be fully justified by its aesthetic merits. Sometimes they also use photomurals of the original type. Finally, you can cover the walls with art painting.

Floor

The decoration of this plane should be done in one, maximum two colors. It is advisable to use ceramic granite or modern types of tiles. As for traditional patterns, especially those represented with carpets, this is a very bad idea in high-tech interiors.But you do not need to give up the carpet at all: it is recommended only to choose a monochromatic version. The simpler the geometry, the better - artsy decor will not look good.

Ceiling

There is a very simple way to create a high-tech ceiling - cleaning the concrete layer to the ground. But such a simple decoration will not suit every owner. Most often, tension structures with thoughtful illumination are used. The number of levels is selected individually, taking into account the concept, characteristics of the premises and their own financial capabilities.

The texture and shade of the canvas are equally important when choosing a stretch coating. The preferred option is a glossy metal surface. The same rules can be followed when using suspended ceilings. If multi-colored films are applied to the ceiling, it is advisable to give preference to neutral, moderately saturated tones when decorating other kitchen surfaces. They should work well with each other.

What is categorically unacceptable is the decorative patterns. Some exceptions can be made for abstract and futuristic painting.

All design elements should be geometrically strict. Do not frame the ceiling of an ultramodern kitchen with decorative skirting boards. All the same, the tensioning blades will be fixed without gaps.

A high-tech kitchen, if it has a large area, is most often equipped with two-level glossy ceilings. To visually separate the dining and working segments, inclusions of different colors can be used. To enhance the unusual sensations, it is advisable to stretch a black film with a mirror-like outer layer. Point light sources are widely used. In some cases, plasterboard structures are used.

Furniture

Most often they do not select dissimilar furniture, but above all a kitchen set. It is he who becomes the dominant element of the composition.

All surfaces must be smooth; the slightest roughness destroys the very essence of the hi-tech concept.

The best options are recognized:

  • shelves with glass fronts;

  • wardrobes with drawers;
  • cabinets with touch screens;
  • steel chairs covered with expressive, bright upholstery.

When asked which cabinets to use (wall-mounted or built-in), experts answer unequivocally - those that you like the most.

The modern interior with a bar counter looks very attractive. But this stand cannot replace the most ordinary table, since its area and functionality are not large enough. Large rooms are often complemented by an island, which acts as a visual space divider. Cabinet furniture is most often made of plastic, laminated with MDF; tempered glass elements are also widely used.

An important feature of modern kitchen furniture is the use of special hinges with door closers. They not only save effort when opening and closing, but also reduce noise. In the kitchen, where there are already a lot of different noises, this significantly improves daily work. Rooms are 18 sq. m and more, you can use island tables in which they embed:

  • compartments for dishes;

  • cooking surfaces;
  • bar counters;

  • miniature refrigerators, wine cabinets and sinks.

Beautiful examples

This photo shows typical solutions for a bright, ultra-modern kitchen. The dominant positions in the interior were given to blue and white tones. The abundance of built-in kitchen appliances is fully consistent with the style canon. But its clever arrangement avoids the visual overload of space with such elements. To enliven the room, in order of contrast, a vase with cut flowers that look as natural as possible is used.

And here another characteristic feature of the ultra-modern style is clearly demonstrated - an abundance of straight lines and clear forms.Laconic geometry allows you to emotionally relax and consider other design subtleties. Actively used spot lighting helps enhance the experience. As in the previous case, the developers of the concept gave preference to the built-in technique. Dark expressive accents look attractive against a general light background.

Finally, consider another high-tech kitchen. Here the designers tried to embody as much as possible another facet of this style - a metallic sheen. To solve this problem, glossy steel and aluminum surfaces are actively used. Their properties are highlighted by a multitude of fixtures installed in the ceiling and in a special panel located at the far end of the room from the viewer. White color is quite appropriately used in recesses, niches and in the lower tier of cabinets.
