Baroque and Rococo styles have been considered an attribute of the aristocracy since ancient times, it combines triumph and splendor. Such a design is chosen by people with refined taste who prefer aristocracy and sophistication. It was created in Italy several centuries ago. At that time, wealthy families gladly demonstrated their wealth and superiority. Baroque and Rococo are distinguished by the most expensive materials, precious stones, expensive fabrics and fine porcelain. In addition, it is customary to use exquisite handmade décor elements in this style. A similar design can be seen in the Versailles Palace and in the Peterhof castle, but it should be noted that this style is also used in modern houses.

Baroque and Rococo can only be created in large rooms.

It is often used in private homes where there is ample space and high ceilings. This design is characterized by a tendency to excess. Characteristic features of the style:

  • rounded lines;
  • expensive items;
  • mirror surfaces;
  • massive furniture;
  • stucco and luxurious chandeliers.

    In the kitchen, a dark facade is often combined with a golden or silver color. You can combine green and gold, white, blue and gold, burgundy and sky blue. A delicate creamy, sandy shade and noble beige color are often used. Columns are often present, in general, vertical lines prevail over horizontal ones.

    Where to begin?

    It should be noted that the creation of a style has its own characteristics; it is customary to use exclusively expensive and natural materials in it. The creation of Baroque and Rococo begins with wall, floor and ceiling decoration. For facing surfaces, you need to use materials such as stone, expensive woods and natural silk.

    If you cannot use natural materials, a high-quality wear-resistant imitation is acceptable. For example, instead of parquet, you can use laminate, porcelain stoneware slabs, and marble slabs can be replaced with decorative panels.

    Ceiling, walls and floor are the backdrop for other elements of the interior, for this reason, you must carefully choose the color in order to create an overall color tone. We must not forget that stucco molding is considered the main element of luxury, therefore it is recommended to use stucco details when decorating.

    By adding characteristic details, you can create a consistent style. Windows and doors are decorated using carving, in addition, they can be decorated with gilding. To make the doors look like palaces, consider double-leaf models. Often in the kitchen, the ceiling continues the wall, so it can be decorated with stucco molding. To decorate the ceiling, you can use frescoes depicting antique scenes. It is not difficult to purchase them, since now there are ready-made frescoes with different drawings, in addition, they are ordered individually.

    Furniture selection

    When creating an old interior, you need to choose the right furniture set. Furniture for the kitchen must correspond to the style characteristics: elegance, solidity, the predominance of oval and spiral shapes. The facade of the furniture is decorated with mosaics or bronze overlays. You can emphasize the antiquity of the interior by choosing non-standard furniture. For this purpose, massive floor cabinets, sideboards with a glass front and wall cabinets with carved ornaments are suitable.

    To create a special atmosphere in the kitchen, you can paint the surfaces with enamel paint.

    It should be noted that modern household appliances do not fit into the old style, therefore they are masked using facades with door fasteners. Built-in appliances help to create not only a beautiful, but also a multifunctional kitchen.

    Lighting

    Lighting in a Baroque and Rococo kitchen should be generous, with large chandeliers, spotlights and single-lamp wall sconces ideal. It is imperative to open access to natural light, with the help of large windows. Considering the high ceiling in a kitchen of these styles, it is recommended to choose a large, beautiful chandelier made of noble material whenever possible.

    Decor elements

    In the kitchen of such style directions, you need to carefully choose decor items. The kitchen is decorated with decorative elements exclusively from natural materials. You can choose porcelain or earthenware figurines, stone sculptures, painted vases. Gilded decorations can add extraordinary beauty to the interior. It should be noted that all selected elements must fit into the overall style.

    The windows in the baroque kitchen are beautiful, they must be large, and the curtains for them are made of luxurious materials. For the manufacture of curtains, velvet, satin or brocade are chosen, the curtains are decorated with additional elements - golden laces, embroidery, tassels or fringe.

    The Rococo style is also popular and is characterized by sophistication, but Rococo is more suitable for those who are ready to spend a long time in the kitchen. In this style, pastel colors are most often used in the kitchen, and their use requires attention and constant care. Rococo is replete with decorations and elegant furniture, so it is customary to decorate the kitchen with luxurious chandeliers, gilded lamps, expensive dishes and numerous figurines made of noble materials.

    Decorative floor tiles give the kitchen a special charm, and the decor is completed with the right textiles and a beautiful light-colored carpet. A Rococo kitchen is created in an oval or asymmetric room, the walls are painted in light colors; for this purpose, you can choose a light pink, pale blue color.

    Baroque and Rococo cuisine is capable of bewitching and surprising. By choosing the right color scheme and thinking through all the details, you can create the perfect and luxurious kitchen. It is worth noting that if the kitchen is decorated in the Baroque and Rococo style, then it is recommended that other rooms be arranged in the same direction. If stylistic uniformity is observed, the house will be more harmonious. If a kitchen in a luxurious style is adjacent to a laconic modern hall, the impression will not be the best.
