Garden bugs are common. They can be found both in the garden and in the apartment. However, not all bed bugs are dangerous. Some, on the other hand, are considered natural helpers and can help you fight many pests. We will talk about the varieties of this insect and not only below.

Varieties

Garden bugs are common in the summer cottage. However, not all of them harm plants; there are some that eat harmful insects, helping to fight them. Summer residents often use such bugs in pest control to avoid the use of chemicals.

Let's talk about those types of garden bugs that are most common in the garden.

Berry bug

This bug is characterized by a bright crimson or burgundy color with an admixture of green. This is a harmful insect that precipitates berry bushes, including raspberries, currants, gooseberries and others. He switches to other cultivated plants less often, however, in the absence of food, he may well pay attention to oil plants, cereals, ornamental and not only.

Cruciferous bug

This bug can be distinguished from others by its dark spots on the back. It damages plants such as alyssum, lacfiol, mattiola, jaundice, and other plantings that belong to the cruciferous family.

Pearl lacemaker

This pest is brownish in color. It precipitates primarily fruit trees, such as, for example, apple, pear, quince and others. It harms the foliage and fruits of the plant, and prefers to dwell, especially in winter, in the bark, which is why it can be difficult to notice it in the first stages and fight with it.

Italian bug

This bug most often affects umbrella plants, including agapanthus, susak, iberis and others. If this insect does not begin to actively reproduce, sharply increasing its number, then it is absolutely safe for the plant.

Bug harmful turtle

This pest has a brown body and prefers to feast on cereals. It inhibits their development and flowering, and also slows down the formation of seeds.

Wingless redlope

The people often call this insect a soldier. This is a picky red bug that can feed on the juices of any herbaceous plants. In general, this insect is absolutely harmless.

Bedbug Perillus

And this is already a natural helper that can help fight the Colorado potato beetle, saving your potatoes. It is distinguished by its bright red color with black spots on the back. This bug destroys the larvae and sucks out the eggs of the parasite. It also actively eats some caterpillars and leaf beetles.

Bedbug Podizus

Another predatory helper that is able to fight some pests. In appearance, it is inconspicuous, as it has a discreet light brown color. This insect readily feeds on harmful butterflies and their caterpillars, as well as on harmful beetles.

With it, you will quickly get rid of pests such as the American white butterfly and the Colorado potato beetle.

Causes and signs of appearance

Harmful insects can appear on cultivated plants both in the garden and in the house for various reasons.

If we talk about planting, then the main reason for the appearance of harmful bugs is the lack of proper plant care.

Rare weeding and harvesting of weeds, insufficient amounts of nutrients, lack of processing - all this can lead to the spread of pests.

If we talk about houses and apartments, then in this case the most common reason for the appearance of bedbugs is a large number of ways for them to enter the house. They can appear along with new furniture, penetrate through an open window, or from another dwelling through strangleholds. Another great refuge for these biting insects is a variety of antiques, including books, paintings, and furniture.

Another reason for the appearance of bedbugs is clothes bought at a flea market. In old things that were already worn, parasites could well remain. When buying them, you may not even notice, but later you will find out about their appearance by painful bites.

Besides, another reason is travel. Rather, cheap hotels for accommodation. If this harmful insect was found there, then there is a risk that they will move to your home with their things.

How to distinguish harmful from useful?

According to scientists, at the present time there are more than 40,000 thousand varieties of bedbugs, including both useful and harmful. All of them are quite similar to each other, and therefore it is easy to confuse harmful insects with useful ones. In order to understand whether a pest is in front of you or, conversely, a natural helper, you need to know exactly about the peculiarities of the appearance of these insects.

So, the most common predatory bugs, which help fight harmful insects, have bright coloration and spots on the back.

Harmful bugs, on the other hand, often have less flashy colors - an example of this is a pear lace maker. This gives them the opportunity to remain unnoticed and hide from predatory bugs.

Means of struggle

If you notice signs indicating the appearance of harmful bedbugs, then you must act immediately.

Chemicals

Such means are highly effective, however, when using them, it is necessary to act strictly according to the instructions, while using protective equipment, including a mask, protective gloves and goggles. Despite the high effectiveness of chemicals, it is recommended not to frequent them with them, since they can accumulate in the plant, which is bad, and there is a risk of harm to the environment. It is necessary to use them only in extreme cases, when no other means any longer help.

In general, chemical insecticides are divided into several types: contact action, intestinal action and systemic action.

So, the first means are able to penetrate the body of the parasite upon contact with any part of its body. The second type begins its work only when it enters its digestive system. The third type of insecticides is able to penetrate the planting tissues, destroying the pest, or they die when they begin to eat the treated plants.

It is necessary to choose a remedy for dealing with bedbugs solely depending on your situation and the degree of its neglect. However, in general, bedbugs are most often poisoned with contact insecticides.

Most often, in order to get rid of harmful bedbugs, such chemicals as "Diatomite", "Aktara", "Mavrik", "Fufaron", "Fagot", "Tsipi", "Tsiperon", "Tagor", " Snake "," Novaktion "and some others. Note that the use of all these funds on the territory of the Russian Federation is permitted.

Biological agents

Many summer residents try to avoid the use of chemicals for obvious reasons, preferring to choose safer means of control. These include biological products that have many advantages. So, they are absolutely safe for the environment, do not accumulate in plantings and do not cause any harm to humans and pets.

If we talk about biological products, then summer residents allocate "Bitoxibacillin" and "Boverin". The first remedy can cause intestinal upset in parasites, due to which they stop feeding and soon die. The second agent, "Boverin", is a microbiological preparation that can be called a real biological weapon against pests! It is made on the basis of microscopic fungi, which not only cause intestinal upset, but also germinate through the parasite, which leads to its death.

It is also worth noting such a biological way of fighting as entomophagous insects. They are natural enemies of many pests and are able to successfully fight them. You can buy such live helpers in some country stores.
