It is she who needs to be located in those places where flea larvae can be. And adults will definitely not like the pungent smell - they will soon leave the house.

Even citrus zest will help control fleas, as insects don't like the essential oils of these fruits. You can use peels from lemon, lime, orange, and even grapefruit. It is recommended to place them in those places where the accumulation of parasites is noticed. Besides, citrus peel eliminates unpleasant odors and fights well against other insects, such as moths.

Making homemade traps

Experts recommend fighting large flea infestations using special traps. You can even make them yourself. There are two options: water-based and adhesive. The first is presented in the form of a container filled with water and dissolved soap. The second type consists of a sheet of paper or cardboard, with glue applied to one side. Such traps allow you to immediately actively fight parasites. They should be placed on the floor where the movement of insects has been observed, or near the pet's bedding.

Important! Fleas are not afraid of ordinary water - due to its low weight, they do not drown in it. But soapy water affects them in a completely different way: insects get stuck in it, since the surface tension of the water changes.
