Eggplant Fabina

It is no coincidence that domestic farmers are attracted by hybrids bred in France. After all, they are distinguished by high quality of sowing material, good yield. As a rule, they always quickly adapt to various growing conditions: both to protected ground and to open beds. The hybrid eggplant culture Fabina F1 is just such a representative of the French selection.

Fabina's eggplant culture was obtained by specialists from the well-known company HM. CLAUSE S. A. for a long time, about two decades ago. This French seed producer has been on the market since 1785, and the company's products, always of excellent quality, are supplied to more than 100 countries around the world. The culture came to Russia in 2007, after which it was included in the State Register and recommended for cultivation in the southern regions of the North Caucasus.

Previously, it was believed that this is a southern culture, and eggplants were cultivated exclusively in the south of the country. But thanks to breeding developments, these vegetables began to be cultivated not only in the central, but also in more northern regions. Despite the fact that the Fabina hybrid is zoned for the North Caucasus region, it is successfully cultivated in cooler areas, both in private farmsteads and on spacious plantations of farmlands. The fruit is also stable and transportable, suitable for commercial cultivation.

Fabina's eggplant is a semi-spreading plant, the bush has an average height. The stem is colored in anthocyanin tones, not very bright, the pubescence of the bush is weak. The leaves are large, green in color, the edges have denticles.

The fruits are in the form of a cylinder, their color is dark purple, the skin is highly glossy. Eggplants are medium in size, weighing on average 162-218 grams. Spines are rarely located on the calyx.

The pulp is light, close to white, while it is dense and juicy. The lack of bitterness in a hybrid is at the genetic level. The fruits of the French eggplant are also distinguished by good keeping quality, resistant to mechanical stress. The product is used in home cooking, as well as in the manufacture of dietary food products.

The hybrid variety Fabina has a medium ripening period. They, in turn, depend on the growing conditions: in a warm climate, the vegetable is expected to ripen earlier. In the middle lane, the crop is harvested from August to September, but sometimes fruiting is delayed until November and even until the first frost.

Like all Frenchmen, the hybrid variety is high yielding. On average, 306-355 centners of fruits are obtained per hectare.

The culture is zoned in the North Caucasus, but it is rather effectively cultivated in many other regions of Russia, as well as in Ukraine, in Moldova.

A hybrid variety is grown in a seedling way. The seeds are used only purchased, here it is important to choose a good supplier. Seed material is planted in containers filled with soil mixture. When 2-3 leaves hatch, the grown seedlings are dived into separate molds. With the germination of three pairs of leaves, the culture is transplanted to the final place of growth. Since the seedlings do not perceive the temperature drop well, they transfer the seedlings to the ground only after May 25.

In a greenhouse or a heated greenhouse, seedlings are placed according to the scheme of 100x40-35 centimeters. It is necessary to deepen the seedlings by 2 centimeters. It is good if the predecessors of eggplants were legumes, as well as melons or greens. You cannot plant them after tomatoes and potatoes.

The rules for caring for a French hybrid are regular watering. It is important to loosen the beds with eggplants, feed them with organic matter and mineral fertilizers, weed and weed.

Fabina is resistant to verticillium, and also rarely suffers from attacks of spider mites.
